Busy thread!! It's hard to keep up!

The 20 week scan went well yesterday and it looks like we will be having a baby boy!!

DoubleCarrick · 31/08/2016 07:22

And to celebrate, dh felt his first kick yesterday night!! I cried and he had tears in his eyes

McBaby · 31/08/2016 07:32

Can I join you all. I had a mc at the beginning of July at 10 weeks but the baby only measured 4 weeks. I was given the all clear to start ttc 3 weeks ago after a prolonged mc with rpoc and positive pregnancy tests till 3 weeks ago!

Yesterday I got a positive pregnancy test again so it's a new pregnancy but obviously a little nervous after last time.

purpleviolet1 · 31/08/2016 07:56

Congrats double! Really lovely.

Welcome Mcbaby, waves, I remember you from the other thread. Can understand your apprehension. I also still feel very anxious. I had in my head that I was staying 'neutral' but I find myself more invested as time is going on and that really scares me..

I'm getting a lot of discharge and I think some of this is due to the fact I'm taking two types of antibiotics. In the last 3 days though I've noticed it's quite a yellow colour and I think it might have a red tinge to it. Has anyone else experienced this?

McAuley so sorry about the family members. Some people are just so inconsiderate and it has to be allllll about them.

9+4 today.

purpleviolet1 · 31/08/2016 07:57

Welcome to user and broody lady as well xx

Suzie2287 · 31/08/2016 08:06

Hi everyone

I hope you don't mind me joining in with this thread. I'm new to mumsnet.

I had a miscarriage in June, and I am now pregnant again. I'm only in the very early weeks, but every single twinge scares me half to death. I was absolutely heartbroken after I miscarried in June, me and my husband both were.

I think I'm driving myself crazy though, I've become a bit obsessed with reading things on the Internet (bad idea I know) and I'm worried it's going to happen again!

I'm hoping by coming on here, I can get some more positivity and hear positive stories about people having babies after their miscarriage.

Fingers crossed all will be fine this time Smile

Suzie x

LynseyH · 31/08/2016 08:58

Hi everyone, I've just received a phone call from the epu asking me to come back in at 10am tomorrow as my blood levels are showing that there should definitely be something there. She said if I have any pain I must go straight to a&e as they would be concerned this pregnancy is ectopic. They are going to do another scan and take more bloods.

I am now even more worried even though I should be thankful something showed.

My stomach is in knots and I just have to try and get through the day at work while keeping positive

broody I hope it goes ok. Flowers

My symptoms have completely gone today... If I hadn't had the scan yesterday I would be panicking... Well I still am a little!! Just got my first app with mw... Monday at 12, right in the middle of inset day at school!

broodylady80 · 31/08/2016 10:54

At least that was some better news Tinkly Flowers

Jpeg28... I'm sure everything is ok, just take a day at a time. Be reassured from your scan and hold that positivity x

LynseyH · 31/08/2016 10:57

Glad they are looking after you Broody. Hope all goes well.
I've got my 16 week check with midwife today, feel quite excited although I know it's routine. And although I listen in on my doppler each evening, can't wait for her to do it!

tinkly I have no idea what that is, but hope it doesn't cause any major issues? Great you don't have SPD though.
jpeg there was another lady saying she wished she had her symptoms back the other day and then the next day, she threw up at the bus stop! Enjoy feeling normal Smile

Ohh ok. Good that's it's nothing that will affect the pregnancy but I guess it is worrying wondering what it'll do to your body. I've never heard of it. Is it something that excercise can help with afterwards?
(I'm not a big fan of excercise so not promoting lol). To be honest though, I reckon you'll be so taken with your baby that it'll fade in comparison.
Sorry I'm no use!

Tinklypoo... just think of the beautiful baby you will have at the end and you definitely would make do with being broken to have that so good luck and as long as it doesn't affect your pregnancy then take it in your stride Smile

DoubleCarrick · 31/08/2016 13:47

Tinkly I've been rolling out of bed for about three weeks and rolling over onto my hands and knees to get out of the bath! My stomach muscles are really tender these days!!

Welcome to everyone new to the thread Smile

Kimphoenix · 31/08/2016 14:17

Hello everyone, I mc 5 weeks ago today at 6 weeks, negative result after 2 weeks and then start of this week got a positive result. I'm just on edge atm, I really don't feel right

LynseyH · 31/08/2016 14:44

Had my midwife appt. She was happy with everything so that means I am too! She told me that they only listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks now if your a new mum, she was nice enough to do it off the record for me though! Not sure if this is just for my area but thought I'd mention it.
Next appt is at 25 weeks, so far away for saying they are still classing me as high risk (due to history of depression). Was hoping I'd be back to low risk but she said that it will change as the weeks go on.
I also mentioned again about wanting a home birth but although she's not saying not to do it, she's worried about someone getting to me in time if I have a night time birth... all of which I've had so far. So for now the plan is, I have to write a list of pros and cons for the home birth and she said she'll discuss it with me properly at the next appt Hmm

Hi kim. I think the way your feeling is going to be anxiety after your mc, which is to be expected. With your positive result being so close afterwards, everything is still raw for you. Take each day as it comes, very best wishes for you x

thank you all for such a warm welcome and hello to fellow newbies. It will be good to have some hands to hold for the next 8or so months (fingers crossed we all make it that far).

broody good luck tomorrow

jpeg with my first pregnancy (the successful one) my symptoms completely disappeared at about 8 weeks and then new symptoms appeared at 12 weeks but at the time I was really worried about it. I hope you can enjoy feeling a bit more normal.

I have very few symptoms apart from big boobs and lots of saliva. I keep spitting everywhere without meaning too - rather embarrassing.

broodylady80 · 31/08/2016 14:56

Try and stay calm Kim, I know that's easier said than done especially as I was in your positive not so long ago. I wish you a healthy and happy pregnancy.

Thanks Ants... I am anxious but I hope tomorrow will shed some light on things.

Lyndsey, glad your appointment went well and I think that is a good idea to list the pros and cons but try and do what is right for you. Hopefully the time will fly so that your next appointment doesn't seem so far away Smile

theAntsareMyFriends · 31/08/2016 14:58

Lyndsey I had a really quick labour with my DS (arriving at hospital to holding a baby was less than 15mins) and the MW said she would recommend a home birth for any subsequent babies.

I would push for a home birth with the logic that if you change your mind you can just go into hospital but if you opt for hospital you can't change your mind to home birth. Also, if you are too quick and have use your DP as a midwife at least all the kit is already there!

LynseyH · 31/08/2016 15:13

Thank you ladies. I really feel more comfortable with the idea of a home birth as my labours have got quicker with all 3 boys. Youngest was born in an hour and 9 mins! I just had enough time to drop my pants and get on the bed! That was after an ambulance took me aswel.
The trouble with going to hospital is that it's maybe 20 minutes away but we'd have to wait for child care to arrive aswel which is potentially a minimum of another 20/30 minutes. By that time, if I follow my pattern, I'd have had the baby!
Trying not to worry over it but that's my biggest concern (other than my baby being healthy!).
I'll do my list and add things as I think of them until I see the midwife again. No point panicking right now I guess x

So much for saying I'm getting more invested.. I've had some spotting (brown coloured discharge) so that will defo help put me back to 'neutral!'
