We were really set on Ethan Samuel (and dh still is),but I'm also liking Elijah Samuel and think I prefer it.
We already have one Ds who is Oscar James.

Please help me decide-which do you prefer?

elijah

lulumama · 26/01/2007 19:07

Ethan... i know an elijah and an ethan,,,ethan seems a bit less of a mouthful somehow

does it go with the sibling names and surname?

Twiglett · 26/01/2007 19:07

Ethan is becoming rather a common (as in frequently used) name round here and I know one who is a bit of a PITA which has rather coloured it for me

I prefer Elijah and I know a nice one

I have 2 nephews called Sam (samuel) and 3 of DS's friends are called Sam along with 2 of his friends' siblings and I like all of them

lulumama · 26/01/2007 19:07

ignore me!! yes sounds fine with sibling name

Twiglett · 26/01/2007 19:07

how about Ellis?

3andnomore · 26/01/2007 19:09

Twiglett · 26/01/2007 19:15

Ee-Lie-Jah

can be a soft or a hard J .. normally hard

funnypeculiar · 26/01/2007 19:16

Ethan ... but they're both nice (& DD was going to be Oscar - love Oscar...!)

Elijah

Tommy · 26/01/2007 19:28

prefer Elijah

judgment on Ethan is a bit biased though because I used to think it ws a lovely classy name and then heard a Mum shout "Eeee-faaan" in the park once which put me off a bit....

itsmeNDP · 26/01/2007 19:30

I like Elijah, but part of me thinks it sounds a bit biblical.

Ethan is very popular.

LOVE Oscar !

Bubbaloo · 26/01/2007 19:31

Twiglett-Ethan is also becoming fairly common here too, which is one of the main reasons why I'm swaying towards Elijah.

Not so keen on Ellis or should I say...not so keen on a person I know, named Ellis.

Not that keen on either (but don't dislike them)

Prefer Elijah.

chocolateshoes · 26/01/2007 21:57
