not nearly home time for me im afraid! i will be here till 8.30! BUT it looks like my next patient is a 'no show' or an 'inconsiderate bastard' as i call them! he was due at 4.30pm, and hasnt shown up so now i will be on here unitl my nex...................fuck! thats my doorbell.must be him

conkertree · 15/02/2007 17:03

hi everyone - just a quick hello and to add to everyone elses sentiments that i hope things go well in the next couple of weeks for greedy and mrsmc (and everyone else of course). fingers are very tightly crossed for you both that everything goes fine.

with the weight thing - i feel like i've been watching my weight for so many years, even though i take reasonable amounts of exercise etc. decided that once i got pg, i would eat what i want to eat (although try not to overeat or too much fat etc) - really just be sensible, get lots of fruit and veg etc, but if i fancy a cake, have one.

Have been doing that and its so fantastic after so many years of thinking - "i'd better not i'll regret it". Dont think i've put on much weight other than what i would expect with getting a wee bump - but am so enjoying the freedom of it. As long as I dont put on loads, am going to see if i can keep it up once the baby arrives - obvioulsy have lots of good intentions to do lots more exercise then as well.

sorry - bit of an essay there. hope everyone is fine, and only one more day to the weekend

greedyforbabies · 15/02/2007 18:15

sorry about my last message! i was caught short and i was determined to finish my message and press post seeing as i had typed it!

my last patient scared the shit out of me......i really thought i was going to get attacked at one point....he was a bit of a weirdo and everyone else has gone home and my mind went into overdrive and i started thinking " oh my god i wonder if he would still attack me if he knew i was pg or if he is some kind of attacker with a consience!" anyway........i am hugely relieved that he has gone! he grabbed my hand at one point and said "come on we are going to spend some time together!" all a bit weird!

hey....i did warn you i was a draa queen didnt i? that will teach me for putting myself in these dangerous situations! thankfully i have female patients from now on!

greedyforbabies · 15/02/2007 18:15

drama queen obviously!

Hello - I'm here - just being a bit quiet!! I've been reading everyday, but not really felt like talking - sorry! DH has started calling me "blanket" as all I do is sit under a blanket on the sofa in the evenings!!

Very tired, with working full-time and having DD, but DH is being fantastic - worked out if I make it to 12 weeks, that I should be able to take holiday to have 4 day weeks from Easter until I go on mat leave in Sept, so that will make it better.

Anyway, don't talk to me about weight - put on 3 stone with DD, only lost 2 of it. Put of 7lb with each of my mc pregnancies, which I haven't lost, which means I'm starting this pg, 2 stone heavier than DD;s - bit worried about it. Particularly as constantly nauseous and carbohydrates only thing which makes me feel better - tricky!! [ps can't remember last time I weighed less than DH!, but he's a skinny bastard - thank goodness DD is showing signs of taking after him, not her lardy mother!!

Right, DH wants the computer to write his essay, so I have to go - take care all

xx

Hi all PG ladies!

DH felt bump kick afew times last nigh first time we felt it together which was a great moment! MrsMc did you get to hear HB? How are you all today!?
Babymadxx

MrsMcJnr · 16/02/2007 11:34

PMSL at you aim to weigh more than your DH Greedy where are you off to? I?d love to be going on holiday!

I?m a bit stunned this morning, my boss has just resigned! I?ve only been here 12 weeks. Think I?ll be keeping my condition a secret for as long as I possibly can and the impending Spanish move! I?m singing that Alanis Morrisette song about irony in my head, if someone had told me 5 years ago that I would have a shot at being the partner in my area in this firm at 33 I would have been delighted and now ? complicated! Watch this space!

Hello Conkertree thank you for your sentiments. I know what you mean, I do feel a bit libreated by the fact that now is not a good time to try and shift the extra stone and a half I?ve put on since meeting my DH but I do want to be careful how much more I pile on just cos of me rather than the baby.

Fettle ? what a sweet name Blanket is (isn?t Micheal Jackson?s kid called that?!) You are very organised looking into mat leave etc. I?m too scared cos I?m so new and fear I?ll not be entitled to any time or money! Just think how much running about you?ll do with 2 LOs ? the weight will drop of you!

Hello Firststar, hello Babymad ? that?s lovely news!! so sorry, haven?t heard the HB yet as when I get home all I want to do is eat and sleep and I haven?t logged on from home for days. I will do so over the weekend though

Juicylucytoo · 16/02/2007 11:54

Greedy - that does sound a wee bit scary - try and schedule him for when others are around next time. Ugghh.

MrsMJ - Greasy hair only lasts 1st trim, then it seems to dry out. I had the hair loss too in the 1st trim, fisrtstar but I think it's stopped now. Hair seems fuller these days.

Weightgain. Bit wierd with me, but my theory has definately been proved that my pre-pg lardiness was down to being an alcoholic! Am now 25weeks and have gained 9lbs, despite eating what I want (including LOTS of chocolate!!). I was probably a stone(ish) overweight when I started, so it's not like I'm now some skinny svelt size 8 pregnant lady, I just haven't piled on the pounds YET. My appetite dropped in the 1st trim due to nausea, but hasn't really returned. I can only eat small amounts and just have to make sure I get enough fruit and veg in between the choccies. I fully expect to pile on the pounds in the last couple of months though, so I'm not counting my chickens yet!

However, this does not exempt me from cellulite and stretchmarks - still got those babies!!

Juicylucytoo · 16/02/2007 12:02

Have always weighed more than DH

Babymad - very about you and your DH feeling a kick together. Everytime DH comes near my bump POD runs and hides behind the nearest organ I think Then as soon as he moves away he boots me again!! We will get there soon I'm sure.

BabyMadwithBump · 16/02/2007 12:23

Some of my brothers have left home and they are hurting but my younger brothers I just don't know, my mother has turned my brothers ageist me, but they'll know the truth deep down and one day they'll see, And I hope she lives a long life so she'll have thinking time, to see what she's done!

MrsMcJnr · 16/02/2007 14:22

Oh Babymad I?m sorry. Think of your growing family and remind yourself that she can?t hurt you now.

I've had my friends phone telling how much of a good mother sounds some of them know my story but I don't like people feeling sorry for me or anything, or even that I must be a walk over, so I don't tell every one, I'm a lot stronger than people think, even more so since my dad died, I've had to change my phone number due to my mother phoning (drunk) saying horrid things down the phone, just feed up! Anyway not stressed any more but I was when I first starting getting the phone calls telling me "mother" was in the paper, again!

Hi all, no time to post much, but just to say am thinking of you Greedy and MrsMc. I know nothing I can say will make you worry less, so I won't, but hang in there, you are both coping very well.

Fettle - I remember the blanket phase well! Came out of it at about 12/13 weeks. I felt like I was just being a lazy cow, but as soon as I started to get my energy back, I realised it was all pg related and not just down to me.

I think in those early weeks, the worries and the tiredness are sooo draining, plus you are having to make something very complex from scratch. After about 14 weeks, a lot of the major "construction work" is done and so your energy levels go back up.

Just had a lovely time shopping - it really was like supermarket sweep in Primark. Basically, all their Spring range looks like maternity wear, so I was just stuffing it into that funny net basket thing. Bought loads, and still only spent £37!!!!

Re weight - I put on 2 stone overall with my first PG. Had a bit of a panic this time because i put on a stone in the first 12 weeks, but it seems to have levelled off now, and if anything dropped a bit - phew!

Bodkin · 16/02/2007 16:31

sorry babymad - missed out all the stuff about your mum. Sorry to hear about that.

honeyapple · 16/02/2007 16:34

Hiya! This is where you are all hanging out! Can i join in?
Don't fancy the due in october thread just yet... only got BFP this morning, so a bit premature to be thinking about EDD and all that stuff.

Whats the stats then for you lot? Anyone fancy de-briefing me?

pinkranger · 16/02/2007 16:40

welcome honeyaple - so pleased for you

Babaymad - hope you are feeling bit better now x

Fettle - totally agree with conkertree, my energy levels have been 0 ! dh had been great , he even went shopping last week as i hadnt been for 3 weeks even going round with the hoover seems just to much hard work, i am 13+2 and started a feel a little bit better so hoping that you do soon.

Can i advise any emontial(sp)pg women to NOT go and see charlottes web, just got back from picture with my ds and couldn't believe that i had cried when she died and Wilbur took her babies back the farm >
