We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Congratulations Wizzi.

I'm hoping Kate will be on with some good news for us soon too.

I don't have any tips I'm afraid Sammy. Madness is just par for the course I think! I remember in the early days you seem to almost count every hour you have been pregnant, time seems to pass in weeks now that d day is getting closer. Try and focus on other activities and events but it is very hard and I would be hypocritical to say I managed it! Good luck.

HopefulKate1980 · 20/07/2016 17:55

We have a heartbeat!!!!!! And it's measuring perfectly on 7 weeks. So cute to see the weird little shaped thing in there!!!! What a relief!!! Thanks so much for all your support and kindness. Xxxxx

HP07 · 20/07/2016 18:16

Wooooooo! :)

MrsChrisPratt · 20/07/2016 18:19

Congrats Wizzi and Kate I've been checking back all day to see if any good news So pleased for you both.

Wizzi when did your bloat disappear? I'm still 10 inches bigger than normal and sure I'm setting tongues wagging at work!

On the positive side I've booked the day of my scan off work so I can digest the news either way. Time is really standing still at the moment Confused

HopefulKate1980 · 20/07/2016 18:22

Thanks guys and congrats wizzi!!! Scan twin!! Great day all round. Long may it continue xxx

Blueroses99 · 20/07/2016 19:03

So pleased for you both Kate and Wizzi xx

stealthbanana · 20/07/2016 20:56

Congrats wizzi and kate!

wizzi I wouldn't worry too much about the dating at this stage. Bean is so small they're prone to a bit of mis measurement - even half a mm can throw it off.

sammy I was a complete loon in the run up to the viability scan so no clever tips from me I'm afraid. Hang in there!

Wizziwoo · 20/07/2016 21:10

Thanks all...cautiously thrilled to bits 😁

Delighted to hear your news too Kate. What a day!

Sammy I also have the brown spotting thing going on but Doc said brown equals old blood from implantation and there was no bleed visible on the scan so it's all good. I know it's hard but try not to worry. Netflix and step away from Dr.Google are my tuppence worth!

MrsChris my bloat is still there and I'm at least 10 over my normal waistline, baggy and floaty tops will be the order of the day at work I think!

Been trying to figure out when I last had a full interrupted nights sleep, reckoning at least 6 weeks before this madness began. I live in hope for some decent shut eye 😴

MrsChrisPratt · 20/07/2016 21:15

Gutted Confused my consultant said 7 days... Aah well, I'm pregnant, that's all that matters, let's just hope it stays that way.

I've only done one additional test since OTD which was 10 days ago and am feeling tempted to do another just to check there is still something there and reassure myself a bit. Has anyone else done this or will it just send me loopy(er)?

HP07 · 20/07/2016 22:50

Haha MrsChris I think I did 8 pregnancy tests! ;)

Thom80 · 21/07/2016 05:20

wizzi & Kate - I am so pleased for you both. That is amazing news.
sammy - I wish I had some advice to offer. I think that knowing so early with IVF / fertility treatment is one of the many difficult challenges. I am not sure how well I did get through but having the support of your OH is vital, I drove mine mad with the worry. I agree with the advice on Google, the Internet is amazing but in this instance not helpful at all.

Zenzie · 21/07/2016 05:23

Sammy, I'm with you. Viability scan on Monday and can feel myself going slowly insane. Even the terminology makes me shiver.

So pleased for good scans! Heartbeats! So thrilling.

Borisisback · 21/07/2016 08:53

Zenzi and sammy - massive sympathies on the wait for that first scan the first few weeks go Sooooooo slowly.....

Hp and mrsChris I did about 20 tests - 2 Frer 3 clear blue digis and about 15 ics..... You two are far to restrained. :)

I'm 22+3 now by scan dates and 22+1 by ivf dates. I have an exterior placenta and havent properly felt the baby move yet. I bought a Doppler to listern to baby's heart but can't find a heart beat no matter how hard I try. I'm getting slightly stressed that other than my now large bump I've got no other signs of pregnancy. I know I shouldn't worry and I know I shouldn't have got the Doppler but Its driving me nuts not being able to hear or feel my boy.

MrsChrisPratt · 21/07/2016 09:08

Oh Boris, I can see thay being me in 4 months (if I get that far!)... Step away from the doppler!

I did another test this morning and it came up darker and faster than any before so feeling reassured. Don't know why I held off so long now, as it's made me feel so much better.

Does anyone feel the need to caveat everytime they talk about pregnancy so as not to jinx themselves....so stupid I know, it just doesn't feel real.

Borisisback · 21/07/2016 09:31

MrsChris - I couldn't use the word pregnancy or pregnant anywhere for the first 7 weeks or more - even on here it was tough to type. I didn't join in a facebook pregnancy group till I reached 12 weeks or this group till I reached 7 weeks. Pleased your new test got darker quickly - always a relief!

HP07 · 21/07/2016 11:16

Yes I was always saying 'if' rather than 'when'. Now I'm further along lot of people ask you about how many you will have, I haven't had a chance to birth this one yet! My response is always, if we're lucky enough to have another, even when Im talking to my husband.

Vixxfacee · 21/07/2016 11:39

Congratulations on the scans Smile

I have my scan this afternoon. It is the general 12 weeks scan but I am 13 weeks today. I am SO anxious and have a strong feeling it will be bad news. I last had a scan at 8 weeks. My stomach is still flat and morning sickness died down quite a lot last week so absolutely petrified!

Thom80 · 21/07/2016 13:20

vixx - thinking of you & hoping everything is ok

stealthbanana · 21/07/2016 13:41

Yes I am still v cautious. I can tell people are looking at me strangely when they ask about eg mat leave plans and I start every sentence by saying "well assuming everything is ok, which I hope it is touch wood..."

vixx don't worry about flat stomach. Mine was completely flat too at 13w. If you've been puking lots it makes sense. I'm still 3kgs down on my pre preg weight at almost 17w. Everything crossed that you have a great scan!

HopefulKate1980 · 21/07/2016 13:49

Good luck vixx. Thinking of you xxx

Grumpelstiltskin · 21/07/2016 14:32

Fingers crossed for you, vixx.

I've just seen the midwife for my booking in appointment and it was completely surreal hearing her talk about birth and feeding options and future appointments like it was all guaranteed we'd get to these points. Totally agree about mentally still being at the 'if' stage. I feel totally fraudulent going to these appointments!

loopylou1984 · 21/07/2016 16:22

Good luck vixx, hope everything is ok.

I'm in the GP waiting room now waiting for an appointment to ask for more Lutigest. My clinic cant supply anymore through the NHS once you've had a positive! Crazy.
What's everyone's thoughts on smears while pregnant? I've just had my letter through, but not sure I want anything going anywhere near my cervix just yet.

Borisisback · 21/07/2016 16:48

Vixx thinking of you.

Sammy - not sure id go for a smear test at this time. The nhs website has some advice though....

Vixxfacee · 21/07/2016 17:25

Thank you everyone. Scan went brilliant. Have to go back tomorrow for blood tests. Baby is still measuring 3 days ahead. Couldn't believe how much the little thing was moving. They were running late so let me have 3 scan pics for free. Feels more real now.

Stealth that makes sense if you're being sick the bump will be later to appear. I'm 1.7 stone lighter than when I started!

Grumpelstiltskin · 21/07/2016 17:29

Hooray Vixx, so pleased for you! Do share a pic if you'd like.
Can't believe you've lost so much weight from HG though- poor thing.

Sammy I'm due a smear too but midwife said today you have to wait until 6 weeks post-birth (think it was weeks, not months...)
