We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Tummy ache

tillyann2013 · 19/07/2016 16:20

Thank you for all the welcomes.

We've been struggling with secondary infertility for over 5 long years. We fell pregnant within 6 months of trying first time round, had our son in 2010 and started again when he was one. Been a complete rollercoaster ride as I'm sure you all know only too well, clomid, timed intercourse, hsg X 3, lap and dye X 2, several failed iui's and a failed IVF in April. It was totally game over for us as we couldn't afford another IVF and we tried to accept our son being our only.

However, after a lovely holiday at beginning of June I realised I was late and on 25th I got a natural bfp. Still can't believe it to be honest and sometimes I have to punch myself. I know it's still very early days and I'm very nervous. I had a scan at 6 weeks and another yesterday at 8 weeks and things are looking as they should so I'm trying to relax a little.

Sorry for the mammoth post!

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/07/2016 16:24

Everything hellotrees said! Blueroses you are being amazingly strong and what a wonderful idea to start a blog, too. Glad that we can be a tiny crumb of support to you as well as those IRL other than douchebag boss.

Welcome Tilly, how pregnant are you?

Thom hope all is ok.

to everyone else.

In other news I had another early scan today and at 9+4 there is a definite baby-shape in there. Clinic have discharged me and it's over to the NHS going forward. Officially the furthest I've got! Shock

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/07/2016 16:26

Ah, cross post! Glad you had a good scan yesterday Tilly, that's really positive.

HopefulKate1980 · 19/07/2016 19:21

Congrats grumpel that's great news!! What did you see? It's my first scan tomorrow - just 7 weeks - no idea what we will see if anything. V nervous.

blueroses thinking of you.

Xxx

MrsChrisPratt · 19/07/2016 19:27

Glad you have support blueroses, I hope in time you can remember lovely Jovan fondly without too much pain. You are certainly taking some positive steps Flowers

Congrats on the scan grumpel

I'm doing OK, 5+1 today I think, my scan is two weeks tomorrow and I'm finding it hard to stay calm.

I took the rest of the week off last week once I was released from hospital on Dr's orders. I still haven't deflated and I'm pretty sure everyone at work had guessed the situation albeit a few months out!

I've had some really horrible diarrhea as well Blush not sure if that's normal or not.... Not much nausea which is worrying me also Confused

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/07/2016 19:59

Ooh good luck for tomorrow Kate! From experience you should see a pretty shapeless blob with a floating yolk sac attached Grin. Today, we could see defined arms, legs and head which was a massive relief lovely.

Good to hear you're feeling a tiny bit better mrschris. I've never had anything more than slight food aversions so no nausea isn't necessarily a bad sign (wish I could take my own advice, mind!), and lots of people say it only kicks in at 6ish weeks anyway. Fx for your scan, the wait for it is the worst.

loopylou1984 · 19/07/2016 20:08

Tentatively poking my head in the door.

I got my bfp on Thursday after our third round of IVF and 2.5yrs ttc. However since then I have been having intermittent bleeding, and although my hcg blood tests did show the level to double from 101.8 to 205.4 from Friday afternoon to Monday morning the clinic 'would have liked it to be higher'

I'm not sure I'm ready to be on a pregnancy thread properly yet but will be lurking and getting to know all of you if that's ok?

Grumpelstiltskin · 19/07/2016 20:19

Sammy THRILLED to see you here. Have been lurkily cheering you on. Keeping everything crossed for you!

HopefulKate1980 · 19/07/2016 20:28

Thanks grumpel! I am trying to be positive but preparing myself for the worst. I have heard some people get a heartbeat at 7 weeks? But I thought it might be too early.

Welcome Sammy! Join whenever you want, it's a lovely group. But I understand why you are tentative. It took me a while to adjust to being pregnant too. Your HCG sound good to me! They have doubled in the right time. What more do your nurses want?! I wouldn't worry at all. They sound good to me. And I have done ALOT of research on HCG due to odd rising levels in my fourth pregnancy.

hi Mrschris great to hear you are feeling better. My symptoms come and go too. I am always reminded on these threads how common that is.

Hope everyone else is having a lovely evening.

xx

Zenzie · 19/07/2016 21:23

Hello Sammy, please lurk as much as you like! I feel quite fraudulent being on this thread.

Welcome Tilly! Secondary infertility here too, started ttc when my daughter was 18 months. She'll (fingers crossed) be 4 when a sibling finally turns up.

Greetings to everyone else, including those waiting for scans.

tillyann2013 · 19/07/2016 21:35

Hi zenzie, our son will be 6 and 3/4's, all being well of course! Much bigger gap than I would have chosen but what can we do? He is in for a shock for sure! How many weeks are you?

stealthbanana · 19/07/2016 22:17

tilly welcome

kate you should def be able to hear a heartbeat at 7 weeks

SAMMY so delighted you're here. Fx your little bean hangs in there.

Who else slept terribly or not at all? I also fear I'm coming down with a cold, passed on from one of my colleagues grrrr. I can feel the sore throat and cough starting to develop. :(

Wizziwoo · 20/07/2016 16:44

Just checking in with everyone - blueroses what a beautiful name for your little boy and I truly admire your strength and courage at this sad time. I hope you find some peace in writing a blog, would love to read it. Wishing you continued strength of mind as you mourn your precious loss and hope you find ways to go someway towards a healing process. Flowers

Lovely news Sammie Tilly and HopefulKate, congrats all and hope early pg is treating you ok. Great news on the scan grumpel and rooting for you zenzie my stabbing bud!!

MrsChris hope you are keeping sane waiting for the scan, it's bloody tough especially when you are not feeling 100%.

Well I am officially the most scanned preggo in the history of the universe! Got scanned today and we have a heartbeat, hallelujah!! So relieved after being so ill with OHSS plus had a few days of spotting and I really didn't think beano would make it but it's a tough lil 'un so far!! My ovaries are still mahoosive so back in for another scan next week. Sick as a dog most of the time and surviving on cream crackers and milk but other than that no complaints!!! (Christ alive I sound like a right whine!)

What's everyone's thoughts on dating scan? Going from my last LMP I'm 7 weeks pg today but Doc insisted today I'm 6 weeks. ET was 20 June with 5 day embie???

loopylou1984 · 20/07/2016 17:05

Wizzi - I would have said 7 weeks tomorrow.
Congratulations on the heart beat! Must have been amazing to see.
Sorry you're still feeling the OHSS, it really is awful. Hopefully you're getting lots of tlc.

Waves to stealth.

I dared to do the digi test today and thankfully it said 2-3! I haven't had any red bleeding for 2 days now, just some brown.
Any tips on how to survive without going mad until viability scan?
