We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

All went well, we still have two wrigglers... Well one wriggler and one who didn't want to move for the scan! She asked us if we were going to find out the sex and when we said yes she said she thinks it might be boys... Obviously I'm taking it with a pinch of salt but still!
We're going to have scans fortnightly from 16 weeks due to the shared placenta so I think I need to get over the scanxiety!
Stealth - I know, and she didn't even read my notes. In face she had no idea it was a twin pregnancy until she scanned me! Lol.

Grumpel - glad your appointment went well :).

Smurfy1981 · 09/09/2016 16:51

Ghengis I am 19 was tmoro- I have just come back from hospital as I slipped and fell coming into my house about an hour ago- it totally freaked me out and I had a meltdown to my husbands best pal who is here doing some joinery work for us!! He was fab, and made me phone hospital and go in bless him, I skelped my knee and landed on my left hip, got to hear baby's heart beat and midwife says all sounds well, I've just to phone if I'm still anxious about it all x

hellotreeshellosky · 10/09/2016 09:35

Hi all. It's lovely to log in and see so many positive updates. Long may it continue.

blueroses I have been thinking of you and reading your blog. I'm glad your return to work went OK. If it's OK with you I will save your blog to share with women at work so are sadly going through similar. I think it could be really helpful for some women.

I am 22+ weeks now and so far so good. We are having a little girl! My bump seems to come and go, she is well tucked away at the moment. I can feel the anxiety rising again because DS was born at 26 weeks due to severe growth restriction. I have another scan this week and hope to find baby is already bigger than his birth weight, but I am terrified of it happening again.

HP07 · 10/09/2016 15:28

Hi Guys. Glad to hear that all is going well. That's great news about your scan Sammy. :)

I'm doing well thanks. 10 days until my due date. The time is going super slowly. We have everything organised now. Nursery 100% complete. I'm so excited. It was my birthday the other day and I had a photo of me this time last year when I would never have believed I would be in this position one year on!

I'm still reading everyone's posts to see how you're all getting on but not posting much because the 3rd trimester has been relatively uneventful for me. After all the bleeds and scares of early pregnancy I'm glad to say baby has been doing brilliantly and growing well etc.

I'll let you know when baby makes his or her grand appearance! :)

Blueroses99 · 10/09/2016 18:10

Hello everyone! Thank you for still thinking of me and the messages of support.

Good luck HP, an uneventful third trimester must be a relief, share a pic when baby arrives.

Smurfy sorry to hear about the fall, but glad you and baby are OK. Make sure you do make contact straight away if you have any concerns.

Hellotree understand the worries but really hope that your little girl will keep doing well. Please feel free to share my blog, if it can help anyone else that's a bonus. It's a journey that no-one should have to be on, but for anyone forced down that road then at least they should know that they are not alone.

HopefulKate1980 · 10/09/2016 18:37

Hi everyone!

So lovely to read everyone's happy scan news, kicks and bubbles.

Blueroses alway in my heart. So admire you to be back at work. Hope you are still healing well.

HP good luck!! Wow, you are so close. Hope the time speeds up!

I'm 14w4 now. Next scan at 16 weeks (when I go for my antenatal appointment). The bump comes and goes - in the morning it just looks swollen, but by the end of the day it is a proper bump. Does anyone else have that? I've felt a few odd sensations but in truth I think it was probably gas as the constipation is a daily battle!

Still enormously dog tired but have told work now and that is a big relief. Although I asked to keep it just to management as there are a few women in my office that are going through the infertility/miscarriage hell and I know how I would feel if there was an announcement in the office.

I have good days when I enjoy being pregnant and days when fear grips me and I think about loss and the pain we've already been through comes flooding back. I don't know if I will ever feel safe...

Anyway, I want to stay as positive as possible....

For the people at 14 weeks, can you tell me how your bump behaves please?! And for those later, can you tell me when you popped?!

xx

Zenzie · 10/09/2016 23:10

Kate, I'm 14 weeks too and my bump is a bit weird. It's definitely there but it's right under my ribcage, not lower down like last time. Bigger at night too, I think. It's very odd (well, probably actually normal) because with my first baby I didn't show much until about 18-20 weeks. I guess all my muscles are stretched and lax now!

Best wishes to you, BlueRoses. You seem very strong.

Big party here last night for my husband. I was one of very few sober people. We also had two newborns come, 4 and 7 weeks. So adorable and lovely!

Itsme247 · 11/09/2016 07:39

I'm 11 weeks and thanks to pretty much non-existent core muscles because of a back problem I always knew I would show earlier than most, last couple of days I've had what I can only Google as round ligament pain on my right side and in the morning, flat tummy but by the evening it's a definite round hard bump and noticeable as I am quite slim. Went to a party last night and now pretty much everyone knows; not drinking etc etc. So even i didn't admit it we got tons of congrats anyway... which was nice I never thought it would be me at the party people were asking 'Oooh do you think she's pregnant?!'

loopylou1984 · 11/09/2016 11:14

Itsme! Wow! I am 12w2 now and have also noticed in the evenings I have a tummy and during the day not so much. I have 2 in there though, amazing that your friends all noticed!

Ah hopeful, you have the disappearing bump too!
I know what you mean about the fear. We officially told people yesterday and the fear got me big time that I'd jinxed everything.

Zenzie - glad you enjoyed the party

HP - 9 days until your due date now! Glad your baby is doing so well.

Hellotrees - congratulations on your little girl :). My SIL made me do a Chinese gender predictor and it came out as girls, so we'll see in a few weeks how accurate that is!

Smurfy - sorry for your fall, so glad babies ok though

loopylou1984 · 11/09/2016 11:16

So as for me, I was 12 weeks on Friday and since then I have been sick every day. No nausea as the meds are keeping that at bay, just sudden sickness so far once a day. What??! I thought things were meant to improve after 12 weeks not get worse! Sad

stealthbanana · 11/09/2016 15:05

Hi everyone, just woke up from a massive nap Blush. Have had a bit of a relapse this week, I've started vomiting again properly (despite the meds) and have had a massive sleep pretty much every day except yesterday. Hopefully it passes again as I could do without it!

sammy it comes and goes. Hopefully this is the last bout for you.

hp aaaaah you are so close! Look after yourself lady, can't wait to hear your news.

hellotrees 💜 a little girl. Congrats!

smurfy blimey a fall doesn't sound fun. Glad everything is ok & take care of yourself.

Bump people - the dynamic nature of the bump is the biggest surprise of pregnancy for me apart from how constantly undignified it is. Sometimes small, sometimes big, sometimes soft, sometimes hard - I'm now in the phase where baby is moving from the left to the right & bump is changing accordingly. Bizarre! Anyway, it's all perfectly normal just weird.

Everyone else - & hellos to you all.

OP posts:
hellotreeshellosky · 11/09/2016 17:33

My bump definitely comes and goes at 22 weeks, some days it's obvious and some days I'm not showing at all. DH says I'm already bigger than I was with DS so that is nice and reassuring. I do feel she's growing though, it's just not obvious every day.

HopefulKate1980 · 11/09/2016 17:57

Stealth and Sammy oh no! That sounds awful for you both. How you guys feeling now? The sickness is supposed to bugger off, not come back!!
Stealth what stage are you at now?

Thanks for all the bump sharing. Mine feels bigger today. I went to the cricket ground where my boyfriend is umpiring and for the first time I noticed people looking at my tummy. It may have been the outfit but it was certainly sticking out. It's so sweet when I catch my boyfriend looking at it - he looks all dewy eyed and in love.

Staring at this screen has suddenly started to make me feel sick so need to cut this message short. Sorry!

Lots of love and bumpiness to you all xx

Blue2014 · 11/09/2016 19:22

My bump changes all the time too (nearly 28 weeks) and my sickness has come back!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 12/09/2016 02:02

Smurfy that sounded very scary so I'm glad all is well with you and the baby.

Congratulations on a little girl Hello and sorry to read about your anxiety. I really hope the scan goes well this week.

I had my 12 week scan today and all was well thankfully. It is measuring 5 days ahead, which I find quite odd since we know the exact day of conception.

Sorry to read about everyone still feeling ill. I'm slightly concerned that so many of you are further along and still feeling sick - every article I read tells me that 12 weeks is the magical end of sickness date!

hellotreeshellosky · 12/09/2016 18:13

They did the same to me Genghis on scan dates. I am quietly going by own dates, if I'm fortunate enough to go over my dates I have no intention of being pressured into induction based on the wrong date! Thanks for your kind words. I will report back after scan, hopefully good news! Congrats on your 12 week scan, hope you can relax a bit now.

Vixxfacee · 13/09/2016 16:56

Genghis congratulations on the scan Grin

My bump is flat in the mornings and big by the evening!

Had my anomaly scan yesterday at 20.4 weeks. I'm having a boy! We are delighted that he is healthy and weighing 13 oz so far. Finally started feeling kicks on Saturday (bypassed any flutters) but I have an anterior placenta.

We went straight to mothercare and brought our first items. Cautiously excited now!

Vixxfacee · 13/09/2016 16:56

Hope everyone else is doing ok in this heat.

loopylou1984 · 13/09/2016 17:23

Vixx!!! Congratulations on your boy :). What did you buy?!

Genghis - glad your scan went well. 1 of mine was ahead by a day at my 12 week scan. It's mm difference at the moment so it could all change yet.

Hopeful I know! Lol. It seems to be worse if I have milk in the mornings, so I've stopped my cereal and had yoghurt and fruit instead... Healthier anyway!

Vixxfacee · 13/09/2016 17:30

Thank you Sammy. I got a navy baby grow with a white collar, a grey knitted romper and some socks. Also looked at some prams.

The sickness stops at 12 weeks is a myth!! I'm still on medication and sick most days.
Poor stealth has had hardly any let up either with the sickness.

Grumpelstiltskin · 13/09/2016 17:46

Fab news vixx! Congrats on your little boy and on hitting a healthy 20 weeks.
With you on the relief-shopping, I cracked and bought three lovely sleepsuits last week after hearing the heartbeat at 16wks to reward baby for being alive.

Also congrats on 12wk scan, genghis! I was measuring three days ahead at both 9 wks and 12wks despite knowing exact FET dates- weird, isn't it. Maybe it's just a big 'un Confused

Vixxfacee · 13/09/2016 17:51

Thank you grumpel! Not long for you to get to your 20 week scan. It's so nice feeling relaxed able to buy little things isn't it Grin

Smurfy1981 · 13/09/2016 19:02

Aw vixx how lovely we have our anomoly scan tmoro- i will be 19+4wks- im soo excited- but nervous too x

Vixxfacee · 13/09/2016 19:37

Good luck smurfy. Are you finding out what you are having?

Smurfy1981 · 13/09/2016 20:27
