We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Genghis - we're at such similar stages. I'm 11+4 today, my scans in 2 days! I've been trying to cut the anti nausea meds down from 3 to 2 a day and it was going well until yesterday, I ended up in bed at 8, but had had a really bad headache all afternoon so that may have contributed. Xx

Blueroses99 · 06/09/2016 08:41

Thanks everyone. It was ok...but exhausting! I was very anxious going in but I took deep breaths and got through it. I wasn't expected to do any real work this week so I caught up with a couple of guys in the team and sorted emails (deleted 1,050!), and met a friend/colleague for coffee. I'm glad I arranged to do a short day as that was all I could do. I'm off today, back in tomorrow, so need to get some rest.

kiwiblue · 06/09/2016 10:31

blueroses glad it went OK. Glad you have today off, just take it slowly.

I have a question about the 12 week scan. I'm unfortunately out of the country between 11+5 and 14+5. My scan was booked for 12+2 so when I'm away. I called and asked if it could be done before I go but the receptionist was adamant it couldn't. I have my midwife booking in appt next week so am going to ask her and see if they'll do it earlier. If not I suppose we will do a private scan as i can't wait till 15 weeks for it! I don't know a lot about it so just wondering if there's a reason they won't do it a tiny bit earlier? Thanks!

Blueroses99 · 06/09/2016 11:20

Thanks kiwi.

My hospital offers the first routine scan between "11+0 and 13+6 weeks" so they should be able to do it before you go. Best to try to convince the midwife to bring it forward.

Vixxfacee · 06/09/2016 11:43

Glad it went ok blueroses. Thinking of you and baby Jovan.

Stealth can't believe you are feeling the kicks now! When did you first start to feel movement?

I'm 19.5 now and still feeling nothing. Very frustrating. I don't feel pregnant yet (apart from the sickness) Grin

Hi to everyone else. Glad to hear there have been alot of happy scans.

I have my anomaly scan on Monday. Usual worry!

Smurfy1981 · 06/09/2016 13:02

I felt first movement on sunday night- a bit like a popping sensation in my tummy!! Totally freaked out my OH!!

Wizziwoo · 06/09/2016 20:41

blueroses good to hear your first day back wasn't too stressful, take it easy xx

genghis good the sickness is easing, onwards and upwards!

Vixx don't worry too much about the lack of movement, before you know it you probably won't be able to sleep at night with all the kicking!! Fingers crossed for your scan.

Kiwi maybe go for an early scan to ease your mind as you'll probably get nowhere requesting something out of the rule book...

My scan went well, bubs is measuring well.. Amazing the growth since the early scan and lovely to see bubs kicking and wriggling away! I was too late for the nuchal fold test and have to go back for Downs testing at 16 wks...just another thing to worry about...God it's exhausting!!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 07/09/2016 02:45

I'm so glad your first day back went okay Blueroses, and hope you managed to rest today. Good luck for tomorrow.

Kiwi I also thought that there was more of a leeway with dates so hopefully your midwife will be able to give you another date. I have my 12 week scan at 11+6, and could have had it any day from 11 weeks on.

Lovely to hear that your scan went well Wizzi. What will the testing involve?

Hope you're feeling better Sammy? The headaches are awful so complete sympathy from me!

Smurfy, that's great about feeling the movement. How far along are you now?

Good luck on Monday Vixx!

Zenzie · 07/09/2016 07:37

Movements are so exciting! With my first I felt them from 16 weeks, which is early. I think I'll start feeling them even sooner this time. Given I'm nearly 14 weeks it could be really soon! ☺

I was expecting little popping sensations, but the first movement I felt last time was like someone had twanged an elastic band inside me! Very strong and weird.

blue2014 · 07/09/2016 07:49

Lots of love to you blueroses

Kiwi - I was away the same weeks as you and had my NHS scan at 15 weeks. I had paid for the harmony test at 10 weeks though so that helped with anxiety.

Vixx - I didn't feel movement until 22 weeks so don't worry too much, it'll happen soon. Smile

kiwiblue · 07/09/2016 10:45

Thanks everyone, will see what midwife says and hope they'll do it earlier. Wizzi - why were you too late for the nuchal scan? I'm wondering if that will happen to be too if I don't have it till 15 weeks (may do the same as blue and pay for the test earlier).

Very exciting those feeling movements! Glad the scan went well wizzi.

loopylou1984 · 07/09/2016 14:34

Is it true that they won't scan me at the 12 week scan if I don't have my notes?? Panicking!

Vixxfacee · 07/09/2016 16:41

Sammy I turned up to my 12 week scan without the book and the rude receptionist firstly said they wouldn't see me. She sent me to another desk and the lady there was happy to print off some basic information to give to the scanner so I could have the scan but firmly told me I must always carry it!

loopylou1984 · 07/09/2016 18:16

I've finally got hold of the midwife and now have the notes! Phew! Panick over Smile

Itsme247 · 07/09/2016 18:37

The rude receptionist wouldn't even book me into see the midwife until I had handed a stupid form in (which was basically, are you pregnant yes/no, what date was your last period...)

when I told her I was on holiday and wouldn't be able to get the form to her I was told off for leaving it so late to tell them I was pregnant... I'm sorry love but when you've had IVF or assisted conception actually believing that you'll be pregnant long enough to get to a 12 week scan seems impossible!!

kiwiblue · 07/09/2016 19:46

vixx and itsme I find the receptionists are invariably rude, in all NHS services. It really annoys me. I think that was out of order of them itsme, I also referred quite late this time as I was afraid I'd be jinxing myself otherwise!

Bit off topic but I complained to PALS about how rude the receptionist was to me at A and E when I was miscarrying. I got a personal apology from the manager and they told me they'd had many complaints about this receptionist and she was being put on performance management. Hopefully it makes a difference!

loopylou1984 · 08/09/2016 14:46

Major scanxiety going on here, in waiting room for 12 week scan now. Xx

loopylou1984 · 08/09/2016 14:50

Oh, in the same waiting room I used to have to sit in for my infertility appointments.

Grumpelstiltskin · 08/09/2016 17:05

How did it go, Sammy? Scanxiety is a total bitch. Also not helping I imagine that it's at the scene of much prior infertility heartache. I hate those sort of set ups where the poor barrens have to see a parade of happy pregnancy tummies in the same waiting room!Really hope all is well and you saw both twinnies wriggling away.

Blueroses glad you had a gentle reintroduction to work and hope everyone continues to be supportive. I think of you often.

Lovely to hear of all the scan news and that some of you are feeling movement now.

HP hope you're enjoying mat leave

Vixx how did your scan go? Happy 20 weeks to you! No movement here either three weeks behind you, though I had my 16 wk check today and could hear it shuffling madly around in there as well as the heartbeat (oh blessed relief!). I'm now sitting quietly and MNing concentrating in the hope I might feel something if I try really hard - there is something there that is a bit bubbly at times, but always just after meals so conclusion: it's probably digestion Confused

Smurfy thanks for the tip re recording heartbeat on phone as well- DH and DM have both enjoyed that today!

Good luck to everyone else with scans and appointments in the pipeline.

Vixxfacee · 08/09/2016 17:09

Hope the scan went well Sammy Smile
Grumpel my scans Monday. You're 16 weeks already I cannot believe from our little frozen embies we are 16, 20 and nearly 24 (stealth) now.
Last night I thought I felt a stroke on my belly. Then as I was going to sleep I could feel something. Hopefully that will continue now!

Grumpelstiltskin · 08/09/2016 17:22

Ah I though it was Mon just gone! Hope you're doing ok in the lead up.
I know - how time is passing! (Not as glacially slowly as it once was!) 17 weeks tomorrow, well done little frostie.

Vixxfacee · 08/09/2016 17:55

I think once I have that scan and fingers crossed all is well I will start to believe I might be having a baby!
How are you feeling?

Grumpelstiltskin · 08/09/2016 18:13

I'm starting to believe it a little more now! Also have a right bump coming along which is helping too.

The consultant today was very reassuring about my prognosis though she does want me to take aspirin from now until 36wks to help get nourishment to the placenta and stave off any potential future pre-eclampsia or growth issues that can be more common with IVF. Anyone else had that? Thought aspirin was more a first tri thing a la Clexane.

Vixxfacee · 08/09/2016 18:50

They didn't mention aspirin to me but did offer an induction. Did they speak to you about that?

stealthbanana · 08/09/2016 20:32

Hi guys!

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow. Can't believe it! Starting to get a bit more real now, am booking in antenatal classes & trying to figure out work timelines etc. Little one is kicking up an absolute storm. DH can now feel it from the outside. I have a sinking feeling he is going to be an absolute terror as he never seems to stop! Bump is still compact, I went to a new Physio the other day and she didn't notice I was pregnant until I told her, even though I was standing in front of her in a sports bra and leggings Hmm.

grumpel I was put on baby aspirin when I had my low Papp A result come back. I'll stay on it until 36 weeks.

sammy hope your scan went really well

Can't believe they won't see you on the NHS without your notes! At my private doctor they don't even bother giving you the notes until 24 weeks.

kiwi as the others said I was told you could do the 12w scan at 11w onwards. I did mine at 13+4.

blueroses glad the return to work was ok, and as always thinking of you Flowers
