We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Welcome itsme. Hope you have a good scan. We are here to support.

Sorry haven't posted much. Been struggling with sickness and awful tiredness after going back to work. I know we're all in a similar boat.

I'm just on my way to my 12 week scan and the fear is definitely here! I'm petrified. Wish me luck lovely ladies.

Hope everyone else is ok

Xxx

Kate - wishing you all the luck in the world. Have a big un- mumsnetty hug. Scans are terrifying, lots of sympathy.

Itsme - lovely to see yiu here. The early days waiting game is horrific. We are here to support you.

Hi to everyone else - hope you are doing ok.

Blueroses - lots of love to you brave lady. Xxxxx

Smurfy1981 · 25/08/2016 13:01

Good luck hopeful x

HopefulKate1980 · 25/08/2016 14:41

Thanks everyone. We've just left and it was all fine. So relieved. Phew xxxx

loopylou1984 · 25/08/2016 16:58

Kate, so glad your scan was good :).

Hi itsme! Welcome, and good luck for Saturday.

Blueroses - thank you. We did in the end, and all seems fine, but it did worry me. Think we'll wait now until I can chat to the midwife.... If she ever calls me!

We have just book a private scan on Tuesday. I'll be 10+4 then. It's only £50 and a 20 minute drive so I thought why not. At least it'll keep me going if my 12 week one ends up being late. Scared of what we might find though, I've hear so many stories of a twin being lost or worse both being gone.... I hate that our infertility has made me so aware of things like this.

Smurfy1981 · 25/08/2016 19:23

I feel like keek today 😡 really itchy ears and throat, cant stop sneezing- its driving me mad

Zenzie · 25/08/2016 21:43

Kate, hooray! How was the scan? What did you see?

Welcome, its me, and congratulations.

Damn, I can't go back to respond properly but I hope everyone is doing well with not too many - or too few - symptoms.

I'm 12 weeks today! 😊 Scan isn't until next week though, the wait is awful!

Grumpelstiltskin · 26/08/2016 22:31

Great news on the scan, Kate! Hope you got some decent pictures. Do you feel calmer now having hit the magic 12 weeks? I'm 15 weeks today and some days are now less paranoid than others.
Also congrats on 12wks, zenzie. Hope the scanxiety isn't too bad.
*
Sammy* Hope you have a great scan next week and you're starting to feel a bit better. It seems like you've hit 10 weeks really quickly (I imagine this isn't the case for you!)

Hello to itsme and to everyone else.

Btw I AM SO OVAH THIS HEATWAVE. I have had to sleep with a wet towel draped over me for the last two nights (FYI, this really works if you're having grumpy pregnancy sweats)

HopefulKate1980 · 27/08/2016 07:29

Thanks so much for your kind words guys! It was so overwhelming and beautiful to see. He or she kept sticking it's tongue out which was just so sweet!! The sonographer said it all looked normal. Saw all its little limbs and brain. S/he had 1mm of fluid behind the neck which she said was normal too. So just waiting for blood test results now.

zenzie yeah 12 weeks!! It's nice isn't it? Are you feeling ok? What day is your scan?

sammy I totally get your fear. My MCs have made me doubt everything. I've found that whenever I speak to anyone "normal" I can see they think I'm really odd that I qualify every bit of good news with "...well let's hope it stays that way" "yeah it's good news...for now". It doesn't go away does it? When is your scan? Your little duo will be just fine & beautiful I'm sure. Lots of love xxx

How is everyone else??

blueroses you are so remarkably strong. Your in my thoughts. Xxxx

loopylou1984 · 27/08/2016 08:16

Kate - My scans at 10.20 on Tuesday! It's an external one, how civilised!

I do the same, MIL says 'when your babies are here' and I say 'hopefully'

Good news on the fluid level. It's another massive fear of mine that after all this we'll find out there's something terrible wrong with them. I'm just such a positive joy! Lol.

Grumpel - haha, no time is moving exceedingly slowly for me. Although when DH said 'were quarter of the way there' it took me by surprise!

Zenzie - 12 weeks!!!

Smurfy - sorry you're feeling rubbish... Hay fever I presume?

Smurfy1981 · 27/08/2016 08:42

Its great to hear everyones news and excitement- yes sammy think it is hayfever, been prescribed an antihistamene and mouth wash from doctor- but pharmacy reluctant to give me them!!! To be fair im reluctant to take them but i cant go in like this!! Had one tablet yesterday and what a difference!! Itching has completely stopped- im just a snotty mess now lol!

blue2014 · 27/08/2016 09:48

Sammy there is a nasal spray for hayfever with no chemicals in. If you are in the UK you can buy it in any supermarket. I know the frustration with pharmacy, yesterday my midwife told me to start taking junior aspirin and no one would sell it to me! Had to send DH in the end.

Kate I'm exactly the same, even my mum thinks I'm weird because I'm still really cautious and say "if all goes well" before every sentence !! I'm practicing saying it less even though I still think it

stealthbanana · 27/08/2016 10:21

There's absolutely no need to worry about antihistamines. Piriton can be taken up to 4x a day and all nasal sprays are basically fine (as long as they don't have steroids in them!). Pharmacists are ridiculous, just wear a baggy top and don't tell them.

I'm 22 weeks and still prefacing anything to do with the birth with "assuming everything is ok". I don't think it ever leaves you!

blue2014 · 27/08/2016 10:44

I agree with stealth, hayfever meds are fine (but no one would sell them to me anyway, it's so annoying!)

loopylou1984 · 29/08/2016 10:40

This time tomorrow we'll be in our scan (10+4 so private scan), scanxiety is kicking in now!!!! SadConfusedSadConfusedSadConfused

Grumpelstiltskin · 29/08/2016 10:48

Good luck Sammy! Sending positive thoughts your way.

HopefulKate1980 · 29/08/2016 14:16

Good luck sammy xx

MPP81 · 29/08/2016 20:01

Hello all! Hope everyone has had a lovely bank holiday weekend!

Sammy, good luck with your scan tomorrow! DH and I have been wondering about DTD as well. We would quite like to, but I think if anything happened afterwards I would always wonder if it had anything to do with it.

Itsme, hello!! Hope the bloating is starting to settle now!

Kate, glad your scan went well!! Grin

AFM, I am 6w today, and slowly going mad! Our first scan is a week tomorrow at 7+1 and time is crawling! I peed on another CB digi on Sat though, a and got 3+ so taking that as a positive. Still no real symptoms, though I did have quite lot of mild cramping yesterday after a long but gentle walk, and panicked a bit, but it was gone today. We're moving Friday though, so hopefully that will keep me occupied this week.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 30/08/2016 03:19

MPP Good luck with the move - that is a good way to keep yourself occupied! I know what you mean about going mad, it feels like time has actually slowed down.

Good luck tomorrow Sammy! Let us know how you get on. I have just less than two weeks until my 12 week scan and am already feeling anxious so god knows what I'll be like the day before :)

Kate great news about your scan, is your next one 20 weeks?

Welcome Itsme - how did your scan go on Saturday? I really hope it was good news x

Is your scan this week Zenzie? Good luck!

Hope everyone else is doing well?

loopylou1984 · 30/08/2016 08:01

MPP - it's supposedly completely safe as long as you're not high risk. Seeing as I'm yet to hear from the midwife I have no confirmation of whether IVF twins are considered high enough risk to stop us dtd!

Thank you for the good lucks, I'm terrified!!!!

HP07 · 30/08/2016 09:12

Good luck for this morning sammylou! And congratulations to Kate.

Did everyone enjoy their bank holiday weekend?

I'm 37 weeks today so considered full term! Horaay! So exciting that the baby could arrive at any point now but also a bit daunting that it could potentially still be another 5 weeks if I go overdue! :/

loopylou1984 · 30/08/2016 11:27

Wow HP! 37 weeks!!

Scan was amazing this morning. 2 little wriggling babies with good strong heart beats :). Xx

HP07 · 30/08/2016 19:16

Brilliant news Sammy, congratulations. I bet you're thrilled! :)

Smurfy1981 · 30/08/2016 20:00

Fantastic sammy xx

Zenzie · 30/08/2016 20:58

Oh Sammy that's just great. Two little tadpoles!

My scan tomorrow. I'm super nervous, been grumpy all week!

And congrats HP, enjoy the final run! You're on leave aren't you? Don't do what I did and work up to 38 weeks then have to be induced early - I missed my last day of work, all my farewell stuff and I got no mat leave before the baby came! So rest up and enjoy yourself!
