We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Oh lovely news Grumpy.

Sorry you're feeling so rough Kate :(

Blueroses, I'm thinking of you as ever. Lots of love. X

loopylou1984 · 05/08/2016 19:12

Thanks everyone , the nausea made a come back mid morning. Good to know symptoms can come and go though.

Grumpel - congratulations on the scan :).

Kate you poor thing, remind me how many weeks you are?

HopefulKate1980 · 05/08/2016 19:40

Congrats grumpel lovely news!!!

I'm feeling much better today. Thanks for your kind words.

I'm 9w3. Time is going slowly. When we get back from holiday I'll be 11 and have a scan the day after I get back. Already catastrophic thinking, obviously

xx

Titchypanda · 06/08/2016 10:08

I'm 15+6 after second iui and still find it difficult to believe that baby is ok. After many years of trying, I can't seem to reconcile myself to the fact that there might not be problems. It seems to good to be true. My OH doesn't want to talk about it at all because he's convinced something will go wrong. It doesn't help my anxiety levels!

HP07 · 06/08/2016 10:31

Antenatal class today! :)

Borisisback · 07/08/2016 00:02

Hope it went well HP - learn anything interesting?

loopylou1984 · 07/08/2016 12:52

I've got brown discharge again today. I'm so scared that we're going to get to Tuesday's scan and there'll be nothing there. DH keeps telling me it'll be ok. That brown blood is old blood and not to worry... But I can't help thinking it would have been fresh at some point Sad

stealthbanana · 07/08/2016 13:00

Welcome titchy! The worry never goes away. It's awful.

hp hope the antenatal classes went well.

sammy I had a small amount of brown blood at just on the 7w mark - the weekend before my (Monday morning) viability scan. It was fine although I spent the whole weekend in a dread panic. Do as I say not as I did & try not to worry!

HP07 · 07/08/2016 13:14

Sammy, I had lots of brown blood continually from conception until 11 weeks i think ot was! Its not always a bad thing although I can understand why you are worried as I was constantly fretting.
Antenatal class was ok but I knew a lot of what we were being told as I've been furiously Google group everything for the last 8 months lol! One good tip was to get everything out that you want in you hospital bag and get your partner to pack it all for you as they will be the one having to find it when youre screaming at them on labour for your hairband etc lol!

loopylou1984 · 07/08/2016 16:33

Thank you both, I wish I didn't go in to automatic panic mode, but I can't help it.

HP that sounds like a very good idea re the hospital bag! Xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 08/08/2016 01:12

Sammy I hope the bleeding has stopped? I think automatic panic mode is normal xx

Kate I can't believe you're being sick 9 times a day?! How are you coping? I haven't been sick yet but have been feeling absolutely horrendous in the mornings so not sure how I'd cope with being sick on top of that.

Boris I hope the bananas worked? Your leg cramps sound really painful.

Great news on your scan Grumple, and Smurfy good to hear that all was well at yours too.

Blueroses I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Xxx The knitted blanket is a lovely idea.

Stealth I hope you're feeling better? I didn't realise morning sickness can come back later in pregnancy.

Welcome to Titchy and hello to everyone!

loopylou1984 · 08/08/2016 06:43

Kate - I was going to ask the same thing, 9 times a day? You're a hero.

Genghis - it seems to have stopped again, but I'm back to knicker checking every time I go for a wee!

I feel horrendous now too, I spent all of yesterday in bed/on sofa feeling sick, I'm not sure how I'm going to cope at work today :(.

I have my viability scan tomorrow morning...maybe part of this is nerves...

HopefulKate1980 · 08/08/2016 08:24

Sammy can you not have a sick day? You poor thing. I never like taking days off but my new philosophy is that if it's pregnancy related it's fine, guilt free! Good luck for tomorrow. What time is it??

Thanks for the kindness ladies with the 9 times marathon!! Thankfully it was only one day, yesterday was only 3 times. I find myself that if I overload my belly i feel v sick but then I'm also ravenous. Confusing. Seems to be better today though which of course worries me!!

My DH is getting so randy on this holiday but it's the last thing I want! I worry about sex during the first 12 weeks. Does anyone know if it's a problem? Xxx

loopylou1984 · 08/08/2016 08:34

Kate - I could but my boss isn't very understanding and when I called this morning to say I've attempted to drive in twice but had to come home as felt so sick she said 'well you'll have to get used to that'
I'm currently sitting on my bathroom floor trying to decide if a snack would make things better or worse. My scan is at 9.15 tomorrow.

I know what you mean about sickness vs hunger. Very confusing. Also understand about the lack of symptoms scaring you.

I think sex is ok, but we haven't done it as I'm too scared it will cause a bleed which will then send me in to an utter panic.

loopylou1984 · 08/08/2016 08:35

I just don't know how to get over this traveling issue. I'm already wearing sickness bands.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 08/08/2016 08:59

Sammy you have my sympathies - I'm currently not working and hats off to everyone working and/or with older children as I can barely cope as it is. I start feeling better from midday onwards but my mornings currently consist of me rolled up in a ball. Really dry breakfast biscuits have helped me a bit..

Kate I think sex is fine - we've managed once but I'm a bit paranoid plus the progesterone doesn't help. Glad the vomiting has decreased - I hope it stays that way!

HopefulKate1980 · 08/08/2016 09:06

Thanks Genghis. The progesterone is a real turn off for me! How can he want to go down there with all that?! Have you had any side effects from the progesterone? My tummy is so so bloated! Xx

Wizziwoo · 08/08/2016 20:32

Try progesterone pessaries up the back alley ladies, no messy sex then!! Weird but actually it makes you feel better and cures MS... My midwife said it's absolutely safe once you have a heartbeat. Xx

loopylou1984 · 08/08/2016 20:36

My pessaries are Lutigest and so can't be used in the back Sad

stealthbanana · 08/08/2016 22:40

Good luck tomorrow sammy. Fx you see a little beating heart.

Really sympathise with all of you feeling sick. At my worst I vomited more than 50 times in a day Shock. I'm now vomiting 2-3 times every other day and feeling quite good - I guess it's all relative! I lived on porridge and dried apricots in first tri, top tip is that dried fruit makes it all a bit more regular too Grin

Sammy good luck to you and your DH today. Scans are always nerve wracking, I hope this one goes well. Xxxx

HP07 · 09/08/2016 07:28

Good luck for today Sammy. I have my 34 week scan today too. The early ones are always nerve wracking but I Hooe everything goes well. :) x

Grumpelstiltskin · 09/08/2016 07:28

Thinking of you today Sammy! Hope the scanxiety isn't too bad (ha right!). Fx for a lovely heartbeat or two...

HopefulKate1980 · 09/08/2016 07:49

Good luck sammy and HP!! Thinking of you both.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 09/08/2016 08:14

Good luck today Sammy and HP, and thanks for those tips Stealth and Wizzi!
