We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Me too. I've told him he will need to look after himself for a bit. Is it ok to DTD after 12 weeks though (if I get that far)? Xx

loopylou1984 · 23/07/2016 15:45

I think it's technically 'OK' to dtd now. Hmm. I guess it'll be a decide at the time kind of scenario! Xx

Zenzie · 23/07/2016 21:27

Sammy, last pregnancy I got almost no symptoms. Slight breast changes, darker nipples, that was it until around 10-12 weeks, when I started getting sensitive to smells and tastes. No nausea, nothing. That was a very straight forward pregnancy. So please don't worry! (Ha ha, easier said than done!)

Kate, my daughter is 3.5. Been wondering when to tell her about this much wanted sibling! At bedtime last night she told me that when she's a big girl, when she's five, she's going to have bunk beds and sleep in the top while her brother is at the bottom. Might have been influenced by the Peppa Pig book we were reading though!

Croatia! How amazing!

loopylou1984 · 23/07/2016 21:37

Zenzie that's spooky! Will they be sharing a room?!

Thank you, that's reassuring to hear :). Xx

Borisisback · 23/07/2016 21:58

Hello from our UK holiday.

Sammy I had pretty much no symptoms until about week 9.

To who ever mentioned holidays we've had a few holidays since getting Preggo - and I had to go through a whole body scan at Gatwick which was fine but scared me. All the holidays have been fine - but the fear of miscarriage doesn't go away sadly. I'm starting to think after infertility the fear never goes away.

Hi, can I please join your thread? I feel a bit of a fraud after reading some of your back stories as I've 'only' been trying for 19 months and surprisingly fertility treatment worked first time. I only got my bfp last week and am feeling totally overwhelmed and extremely nervous.

Hello to everyone, and Blueroses I'm very sorry about your little boy.

Zenzie · 24/07/2016 01:00

Welcome Genghis! I'm a fraud too, only trying 2 and a half years and first cycle of ivf was successful. I'm a double fraud as I already have a child. Huge congrats on your BFP!

Sammy, yes I think the two children will share a room, even though we have another bedroom. We'll keep the other one for guests.

loopylou1984 · 24/07/2016 07:44

Hi Genghis! I think we're at very similar stages. When was your EC?

Boris - thank you for that, relieved to hear it can be normal not to have symptoms yet.

Zenzie - maybe you have a psychic toddler!

HopefulKate1980 · 24/07/2016 11:22

Welcome gengis!

HopefulKate1980 · 24/07/2016 11:22

Sorry for spelling mistake

HP07 · 24/07/2016 11:34

Hi Ghengis, welcome to the thread. Don't feel a fraud. It's not a competition, we're all just here to support one another :)

Today I am feeling much worse, I've been to the OOH Gp at the hospital and been given antibiotics for bronchitis :( so exhausted. I haven't slept properly for a week due to the heat and now because of being unwell. Hope everyone else is doing ok and enjoying their Sunday. X

Borisisback · 24/07/2016 11:50

Gengis - lovely to see you here :) hoping your 9 months is as calm and healthy as possible

Smurfy1981 · 24/07/2016 12:02

Welcome ghengis xx HP poor you, hope u get better soon x

Thom80 · 24/07/2016 12:33

HP - hope you are ok, it sounds nasty and exactly what you don't need. Hope the antibiotics work and you start to feel better.

loopylou1984 · 24/07/2016 12:52

Oh HP - sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly :(. Xx

HopefulKate1980 · 24/07/2016 12:59

Oh gosh HP that sounds nasty. Hope you feel better v v soon. Xxx

stealthbanana · 24/07/2016 22:18

Hope you're on the mend HP. Always seems so unfair to have respiratory illnesses in the heat. Rest up x

Thanks everyone. I've had lots of rest today. Just really worn out.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 25/07/2016 03:09

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

HP I hope you start feeling better soon - sounds really rough for you.

Sammy I will be 5wks on Tuesday so a few days behind you.

Zenzie · 25/07/2016 09:15

Oh HP that sounds bloody awful. I hope you feel better very soon.

7+3 today and had my viability scan today. Such a relief to see the heartbeat and to see the doctor write "viable scan" in my notes. I'll go back at 9+6 for another scan.

Smurfy1981 · 25/07/2016 10:52

How exciting zenzie- ive just had my 12 wk scan x

loopylou1984 · 25/07/2016 10:58

Zenzir! Fab news! Congratulations :).

HopefulKate1980 · 25/07/2016 18:39

Congrats Zenzie and Smurfy!!! Great scan news.

Smurfy was that your first scan at 12 weeks?

Lovely news for a Monday.
xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 26/07/2016 01:50

Zenzie and Smurfy what lovely news! I'm so glad the scans went well.

I had a scan this morning to see that it was in the right place (maybe not the technical term!), which thankfully it was. My gynaecologist was lovely showing me everything but he must think I'm a miserable cow as I could barely crack a smile. I have another scan next week as well - I must work on my cheerfulness!

loopylou1984 · 26/07/2016 06:15

Ghengis - wow that's early for a scan. The absolute earliest my clinic would scan is 6 weeks, but they prefer 7!
