So I've been in agony today with whiplash and my GP is refusing to prescribe anything other than paracetamol for it. The midwives say I can take stronger painkillers but that as it's not pregnancy pain they cannot help. They say the GP should know what's safe and that the GP is taking rubbish but the GP refuses to call the midwives for advice and say the midwives as the maternity assessment unit have tocphone them. But who has the time in MAU to be fancying about with this kind of issue. I'm so sore and pissed off :(

Womble75 · 03/02/2017 17:53

Bloop that's terrible. FWIW my GP prescribed me cocodamol for my gallbladder attacks. He said it's perfectly fine for short term use. It did take the edge off. You can buy it OTC.
Also tiger balm can be used in pregnancy which may help with easing the stiffness and soreness. Boots or Holland and Barrett stock it as do Tesco.
Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2017 19:30

Ouch bloop :(

Deep heat or heat patches?

Womble75 · 03/02/2017 20:04

Non medicated heat patches ok but not deep heat. It contains something (can't remember what) that can pass into placenta.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2017 20:06

Ouch bloop :(

Deep heat or heat patches?

Bloopbleep · 03/02/2017 21:17

I've been using a heat pillow but it doesn't help me move. I'm feeling sorry for myself tonight and going for a tepid bath

Iusuallylovecake · 05/02/2017 07:55

Morning all, hope you're all well. How's your whiplash bloop, hopefully starting to ease a bit.
Not great here at all, mum v v poorly, told to prepare for the worst. Worried that all the stress can't be good for bubs. Can't sleep properly or rest so scared on all fronts

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2017 09:28

Cake sorry not better news with your mum 💐😢

Blooo hope feeling better

I'm 32w and bubs is kicking and head butting madly now. Which is nice but occasionally owwwww

Have mw tomorrow and then usual scan and consultant at 34w
And another at 37

Bloopbleep · 05/02/2017 11:41

Cake I'm sorry to hear your mum is so unwell. Much love to your family x

Whiplash is ok - still sore but I'm used to it now.

LastnightaDJ · 06/02/2017 10:01

Hi! May I join? Been lurking but fancied chatting. I'm 41 and about 15/6 weeks. Second child, with big age gap due to difficult birth/post partum last time. Feeling ok apart from dizziness/tiredness, luckily no sickness (sympathy to those suffering....!) but I am starting to need bigger trousers 😉

I have a weird issue right now though - itchy boobs!!! Is anyone else suffering? It's so irritating. Think it's just the hormones, but ugh... Any tips?

Bloopbleep · 06/02/2017 13:51

Welcome and congratulations lastnight I have a reasonable large gap between dd and this baby (8y). I'm 19w. I get itchy nipples instead of boobs but they're too sensitive to scratch. It drives me crazy sometimes and I give in (thro top) -I've given up on dignity and will do it whenever I can... so I wander round Asda scratching my tits. I no longer care for funny looks.

While I too am needing larger trousers my bump is more wind than anything else :(

I have a terrible headache today that paracetamol isn't helping. I thought I'd treat myself to some soup and it had gone off. It's one of those days

Gizmojo · 06/02/2017 15:38

Welcome, lastnight. I've been suffering with itchy boobs too - like bloop, mostly nipples and I too have no shame about having a bit of a scratch when needed!! Grin

Bloop you poor thing, hope you're starting to feel a bit better now?

cake, really sorry to hear about your mum Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/02/2017 20:38

Welcome last night :)

No itchy boobs here but starting to feel uncomfortable. Bubs is taking up room 😂 I struggle to eat as she's hogging my stomach by hugging round me

Saw mw today. All fine tho bubs measuring slightly big. Convinced I'm going to have a 9/10lber .....

LastnightaDJ · 06/02/2017 20:59

Cake, I see things are difficult for , sorry to hear that. I don't know if it helps, but I can't imagine that being stressed could cause too much of an issue for bubs... Surely nature has her ways of insulating our LOs from that kind of thing ? I mean, in the old days humans would have been stressed about all kinds of things and they survived ok... I hope you're not worrying too much about that aspect.

LastnightaDJ · 06/02/2017 20:59

Thanks everyone for the welcomes!!!!

Teaspoon74 · 06/02/2017 22:59

Hope you're feeling a bit better Bloop CakeBrew

Welcome and congrats Lastnight!

Just back from John Lewis shop for cars least and starting to feel a little planned (thank goodness!).

Starting to think about trying to do sthg yoga-y. Any suggestions for SE London? Greenwich?? Really appreciate tips on classes and/or what to look out for (companies, class names etc). Have never done Pilates, yoga etc before.

Womble75 · 07/02/2017 00:08

Hi last night and congrats 😊

Teaspoon www.yogaclasseswithjulie.co.uk
I was in your neck of the woods when I had DD1 - we only moved a couple of years back so hopefully she still does it.Hope the link works.

Currently nursing DD1 with a raging fever and cold and hoping to god I don't pick it up.

33+2 today - started washing all baby's things today - have a feeling I won't be kept waiting with this one.

Womble75 · 07/02/2017 00:13

Blondes I'm dead uncomfortable too. Having to graze as can't eat proper meals. Baby is right down in my pelvis bashing my bladder to bits. Movements are sooo much stronger this week.
Don't rely on the measurements. I was told DD was a whopper and 10lb minimum, more like 11lb. She was bang on 8lb lol but to be fair the bigger ones are a bit easier to push out. 😊

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2017 09:55

@womble75. Bubs is sitting bouncing on my Bladder 🙄 I'm up 5:6 times a night peeing and so 😴😴😴😴

Also being sick again every now and then and havnt seen my toes for months. Struggle to pick things up from floor or to take socks on and off

So grateful I'm preg and don't want bubs born at almost 33w but happy for her to come a week or two early

I have my anomaly scan this morning... bit nervous

Teaspoon74 · 07/02/2017 10:31

Good luck Bloop!

Womble thanks for the yoga tip - will check out this afternoon!

And that sounds v familiar Womble & Blondes! Do** yours kick off more when you're horizontal/ on your back? Seems like there's a party going on in my uterus whenever I stop moving about for any length of time!!

Bloopbleep · 07/02/2017 14:31

Scan went well. Everything ok and confirmed it's definitely a boy. Feeling hugely relieved now

Womble75 · 07/02/2017 15:35

Aww Bloop that's awesome Grin

Teaspoon - he's generally more active at night. Bodes well lol. To be honest I can be sitting or lying and he's still breakdancing away. Movements obviously stronger now as getting bit tight for space. Midwife tomorrow, completely forgot with DD being so poorly. Was up all night with her as she had a terrible fever. I'm like a zombie and she's quite happily munching quavers and watching cartoons! (Bad mother Wink)

Iusuallylovecake · 07/02/2017 21:43

Welcome last night, congrats!!!! Hope you're enjoying the experience, sorry not up to date on here, is bubs your first??

Glad you feel better bloop, it's such a relief to see them.

Thanks for all the kind messages, really appreciate it, sadly nothing can be done and feel like we're waiting for the inevitable. 😖

Quick question, I'm 22 weeks, is it normal to feel bubs on and off. Some days more than others?? I'm managing to worry over everything at the moment which I know is not good!!
Hope everyone else is well
