Aaw, lovely news tinkly!

Thinking of you Mac, have you got long to wait?

sundayraspberry · 24/06/2016 08:34

Good luck for the scan today Mac x

Fab picture of 'little poo' tinkly, really clear!

Just doing yet more diy at home today Hmm. You would have thought I'd be able to take it easy at 36+4! I admit to being disappointed with today's referendum result too and pondering what the future holds for our little ones Confused

Lovely scan tinkly! Hope your feeling much more positive today.
Good luck macauley hope all is well and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Today is a quiet one at home for me and two little ones. Phoning docs in a minute to try and get a different prescription. Took a tablet at 7ish, felt ok for all of half an hour after taking it and now feel pooh again. I'm still only 6+5 so another potentially 6 (+) wks of this is really dragging me down :-( I know if all works out ok this time it'll be worth it but this constant yucky feeling is awful.

Macauley · 24/06/2016 13:47

All good Grin one baby in the right place with a heartbeat and measuring 9 weeks GrinGrin so happy!

LynseyH5 · 24/06/2016 14:22

macauley that's great news! Congratulations Grin

Whatsername17 · 24/06/2016 14:48

Yay! Great news Macauley!

mikesh909 · 24/06/2016 14:55

Happy for you, Mac, nice to hear a piece of good news on a day when the collective, palpable despair for our nation's future seems at an all time high in my area. I get that the opposite is likely to be true for some posters on this thread. Agree with those posting before re. uncertainty for our yet-to-be-born babies as well as ourselves Sad

Lynsey, any luck with the prescription?

LynseyH5 · 24/06/2016 14:59

I have a phone consultation with the doctor between 5 and 6 this evening. I knew I had to try sort something before the weekend. I have managed to do some housework today so happy my house is feeling much fresher. This humidity doesn't help the nausea!

Macauley · 24/06/2016 15:22

Thank you everyone! Ate my maltesers to celebrate Grin
Agree mike to be honest it's kept our minds occupied today when we needed it. No idea where it leaves us esp as the majority vote in every area of my country voted to stay in. Uncertain times indeed.

Ladies help me.
I had a tiny bit of brown discharge last night and then today a bit of brownish reddish blood I'm so worried that I am miscarrying when I only found out on Sunday :( I was due on Wednesday
Been having like period pains on and off all day too I've done like 5 tests throughout the week and they have all been a faint positive..

CocklesandMussels · 24/06/2016 17:19

Congrats Mac, great news
Charlotte sorry to hear that. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it all settles down and turns out to be nothing.
We had our 20 week scan today and all is well, two wriggling babies with the right number of fingers and toes. Phew!
I'm also very upset about brexit like many others here. I have dual nationality and starting to wonder...
Anyway, have a good weekend everyone.

AButterflyLightsBesideUs · 24/06/2016 17:29

Yes! for the excellent scan news mac and cockles.

I hope you can get a new prescription this evening Lynsey

charlotte fx it stops but I know the stress - it's very hard.

The more I think about the referendum the more disturbing and worrying I find it. My area was one of the few that returned a remain vote overall. Shocking result. My parents are gleeful Sad In the interests of family harmony we can't discuss it!

Freckles1215 · 24/06/2016 17:32

Hi ladies... So I let you all know that I had a BFP with my rainbow after 2 MC's this year.
I've had a scan at 6 weeks and then one today and I'm 7 weeks 1 day and baby has a lovely strong heartbeat. Consultant has started me on a course of Cyclogest pessaries 200mg twice a day until I reach approx 14 weeks and placenta has fully taken over. I'm just wondering if any of you have been prescribed these and what the best way to take them was (vaginally or rectally)? Sorry for the TMI lol! Also... I've been reading about some pretty bad side effects, any experience with these?
Thank you in advance Xx

CocklesandMussels · 24/06/2016 17:44

Freckles congrats. I was on cyclogest 400mg twice daily. I used them as pessaries, never dared try the other way! They were ok, get some decent pantyliners as they are greasy and it doesn't wash out easily. I got constant borderline thrush with them, but I had that with the mini pill too so I might just be vulnerable to it. Otherwise it was fine.

Freckles1215 · 24/06/2016 17:56

Thanks cocklesandmussels
I've read so many different stories about the side effects etc... Trying first one tonight so fingers crossed I'm not too bad. Xx

LynseyH5 · 24/06/2016 18:16

I now have Cyclizine 50mg tablets, 1 three times a day. I'll start them tomorrow morning now because this time of day seems a waste of a much needed relief! I usually feel worse after 7 but it's sit down time so I can try to ignore it....
Anyone else struggling in this crappy humidity? My 4 year old said he was cold earlier cos I had windows open and a fan going too Confused

AButterflyLightsBesideUs · 24/06/2016 18:32

Yes the humidity is not helpful. I opened the patio doors because the house is all stuffy expecting a whoosh of fresh air and realised, no, outdoors is stuffy too ....
I hope the cyclizine helps. I find it interesting (in a geeky scientist way) that the first line treatments for nausea are all antihistamines - I wondered if it is almost an allergic reaction to hcg? Intrigued anyway.

I saw my GP today and sorted out my next bloods and my shopping list of prescriptions and got her to sign my maternity exemption form so hopefully the card will come through before my dentist appointment in August

Freckles welcome and great news on your BFP, fingers crossed the progesterone pessaries make this one stick. I think pessaries are for vaginal insertion and suppositories for rectal aren't they?

mikesh909 · 24/06/2016 18:32

Congratulations, Cockles, 40 fingers and toes, that's a lot to count! My 20 wk scan is 3 weeks today. Still seems a loooong way off.

Charlotte, sorry to hear that. It could be miscarriage OR it could be nothing. Plenty of ladies here have had early bleeds and subsequent positive scans. At this stage, implantation bleeding sounds possible? Cramps and bright red blood together are supposed to be a bad sign as I understand it. Cramps on their own or with spotting are common. You likely know all this already though Flowers. The waiting is the worst, but there is nothing else to do. Know at least that whatever the outcome, nothing you did or didn't do affected it and likewise nothing you do or don't do now can. Everything crossed for you.

Freckles1215 · 24/06/2016 18:52

Thanks abutterflylightsbesideus it says on the instructions that they can be used either way, most people are going for rectally as there's less mess and can irritate the cervix if your prone to thrush etc aswell sorry I know it's TMI!! The joys eh! Lol X

Macauley · 24/06/2016 19:00

Congrats cockles glad it all went well!

charlotte try not to panic. I had a bright red blood spot last week randomly. I mentioned it to the midwife and she said that implablation can cause anything from a small spot to a period like bleed. If the bleeding gets worse or the pain gets stronger then call epu. Might be worth giving your doc a call on Monday just to put your mind at ease.

Congrats on your bfp and scan freckles!Smile

Freckles1215 · 24/06/2016 19:24

Thank you X

charlotte1990 · 24/06/2016 20:25

Thanks ladies it's got a but more like the start or a period just not bright red blood... I'm a wreck. Heartbroken. Don't know if there is any point going anywhere or calling anyone as I must have been only 2 and a bit weeks... I don't know what to think got period pains aswell not looking good I don't think. Meant to have a hen party tomorrow night don't know how much fun I'm going to be Confused
Scared to go to the toilet. Brings back the memories of my last miscarriage in January. If I loose this one I don't know how I'm going to cope again... 😢

CocklesandMussels · 24/06/2016 20:54

Great news on the cyclizine Lynsey! Butterfly, I also find antiemetics fascinating, in true geeky science way. I've had to learn a lot about cyclizine for exams, and its main mode of action is thought to be in an area of the brain called the chemical or chemoreceptors trigger zone. There are histamine receptors here, also other neurotransmitters that cyclizine acts on, it's quite a 'dirty' drug in that sense. So probably less to do with the histamine that is released from mast cells during an allergic reaction. But I like the theory. And like geeky discussion as you can probably tell! I should probably calm down now and enjoy the weekend!
