Right June people....... This is just getting ridiculous! Are you all pretending to be pregnant??

Bogwoppit · 12/06/2004 12:29

well someone did suggest yesterday that i have a traffic cone up my top!

Toothache · 12/06/2004 12:32

Bogwoppit - You must have a really weird bump!

Bogwoppit · 12/06/2004 12:44

ok try looking here for pics

might need password - bogwoppit & click submit. then go into my gallery & there is a recent pic of bump!

Toothache · 12/06/2004 12:47

It's distinctive eh??!

Bogwoppit · 12/06/2004 12:53

& when baby finally arrives I'll try & get a pic to the same link as soon as i can/dh can!

we might all be joining July thread at this rate!

Gomez · 12/06/2004 12:59

Morning - got all excited last night. Woke up 4.00am killer backache, then some tightening thingies and then it all stopped!! But looking on the brightside must be the start of something, even if it does take a few more days. Which is better than nothing happening - which is what has been the case since last week!!

Couldn't find reflexololgy points last night but did get some accupressure points so who knows that might have helped? Or then again it could be that I am now +5!

Bogwoppit - had a sneaky peak at your bump and it is as Toothache says certainly distinctive...

Right off for a stroll.

Skara · 12/06/2004 13:11

Ooh Bogwoppit, that looks like a girly bump! Will be interested to see if I'm right when he or she finally makes an appearance

Something exciting must be happening with Scampadoodle, either that or her pc is broken. Thinking of you all in this heat - I'm suffering from hideous postnatal sweating which is deeply unattractive, and have decided that today I might just get out of my pyjamas (although maybe not, am enjoying this lazy world!).

monkeygirl · 12/06/2004 14:26

Morning all,

Nothing much to report here again, although the pain in my groin is now so painful I can hardly walk. Don't know if it's splitting under the pressure or if db has engaged, but I thought that only happened just before the event on 2nd+ pregnancies??

Gomez - you must be really really fed-up. I'm sure I'll be suicidal if I am late, the way I'm feeling at the moment. It's getting hot and I'm also feeling guilty cos I can't do much with dd1.

Bogwoppit - that is a distinctive bump - and cute ds! Sam is a name on my list btw...

My dh has a theory that this weather will steam me open like a mussel! Hope he's right for once...

Gomez · 12/06/2004 14:31

Monkeygirl - what an attractive thought, being steamed open like a mussel - bleugh.......

monkeygirl · 12/06/2004 14:37

The way I feel I would even let Gordan Ramsay put me in his hot pot if it produced results!

Gomez · 12/06/2004 14:38

cheeky!!

monkeygirl · 12/06/2004 21:44

Blimey it's quiet here today.

Karen - have you finally succumbed??

I've definitely been having some sort of contractions today but because they are irregular and not overly painful, I can only conclude that they are strong Braxton Hicks . I've been too cowardly to go out in the heat and so have sat by the fan trying to play with dd1 but letting her watch too much tv.

Are we all having phantom pregnancies or something?

Gomez · 12/06/2004 22:53

God I hope not Monkeygirl or I am defo in the 'Who ate all the pies?' category big style.

Also to rub salt in the wound just had e-mail to let us know that girl from ante-natal who was due the SAME day as me dropped her sprog at lunchtime !

karen01 · 12/06/2004 23:53

Hi all, I am still here. I think something maybe happening though as have been having contractions this evening only for past hour or so but theyt a regular and getting more painful.. knowing my luck they will be nothing. Will have to wait and see. (that is a hopefull grin!!!!)

My DH really has no idea he said to me earlie if you have the baby tonight or tommorrow we could go up to hartlepool/darlington on thursday night for the long weekend. Yeah right we are living in Aldershot at the moment trying to explain to him that it will take more than a few days to get over everything. MEn he has gone out for a beer tonight after he has been drinkng for a couple of hours before ahnd tonight will probably be the night. Right off to get DD in and ready for bed.

karen01 · 13/06/2004 02:05

they seem to have wore off. Never mind only another week or so to go!!!!
I need to be more postive and think atleast things are starting (even if finishing before job done )

monkeygirl · 13/06/2004 02:28

Karen - are you copying me?? Our pains are exactly the same

Seriously though I may be at the start of things...gulp. Don't know if I am in denial or getting over-excited but I am definitely having contractions, just am not 100% sure if they are real or braxton hicks. I've been timing them for nearly 2 hours and they vary between 5 and 15 minutes (although that 15 mins was only once - they are usually shorter). They hurt but are not really really painful.

God am I in labour or what?????

Anyway, it made me finally write my birth plan!

Wish me luck - if it continues I may be posting a 'do you think this is labour' thread. Either that or tomorrow morning it will be a 'sod it' post.

karen01 · 13/06/2004 03:28

MG- I am still not sure if these are BH or real they have started up again but are not really painful just very uncomfortable but they are every 5-10 mins again.

Ohh and i can't sleep going to have aplay around on PC for a while then try again.

monkeygirl · 13/06/2004 03:31

Karen - I've started that other thread cos mine are still going!! Ooh we might be having a baby on the same day then!!!!

littlelamb · 13/06/2004 04:12

Is anyone else getting really bad nesting urges?! I am awake now because for the past hour I have been literally picking the fluff off the carpet because I have no hoover. I can't explain it and I know it's irrational, but I just can't help it and I can't go to bed until I know that everything is spotless. And I mean everything. I am actually looking forward to arranging all the cleaning stuff under the sink and rearranging the medicine cabinet! And tomorrow will be the start of a vicious arsenal aimed at getting things moving. I've got five days to go but this looks sure to be the longest week of my life, so a little pineapple/curry/jumping up and down can't hurt! Why can't i just relax and enjoy my last EVER days of freedom?!
On the bright side though, think I may have had a show today, although not really sure. I'll spare you the details! And a very dodgy tummy, I don't think i've eaten anything that could be the culprit, so here's hoping this may be it!
Right, got to go and find my marigolds...

cathncait · 13/06/2004 08:38

Well, maybe we're getting some action on this thread after all! Nothing goping on for me but am hopeful to hear that maybe Monkeygirl and Karen are on the way. Good luck to you guys . Keep us posted!

karen01 · 13/06/2004 12:20

Hi all .
Monkeygirl-Anynews hopefully it was the start of your labour and you will be posting about your DB and birth
The contractions BH seem to keep stopping then starting again every few hours but as i said last night, i hope and feel that something will happen soon. Wishfull thinking !!!

I was going to go for a walk but it is far too hot.

take care all .xx

karen01 · 13/06/2004 12:22

littlelamb- know how you feel re nesting fever I have had this for past few weeks nearly 6 I think. I just keep pottering about the house looking for things to do. (With a 7 year old there is always lots of tidying/cleaning to be done

monkeygirl · 13/06/2004 13:18

Ok I've posted on my other thread about am I in childbirth but just wanted to say again 'sod it'! Still here, still have irregular pains, still not in proper labour, still feeling very very hot and very very irritated.

Karen how are you doing - you are definitely copying me now ?

Gomez - what about you - surely...

I suppose I did have the nesting instinct but that went quite a while ago, probably cos I'm now so big it hurts to do anything except blob on the sofa.

Are you sure it is really June now or have I been caught in some nightmarish parallel universe where people don't have babies....aarrrgh!
