I'm TTC and 10 days after ovulating, took a pregnancy test and I don't know if my eyes are
playing tricks on me from desperately wanting to be pregnant or if it's just still too early too tell, the first day of my last period was the 25th Jan, so I'm due febs period on Monday but I'm just too egar.
Took this test and downloaded one of those pregnancy test checkers and inverted the colours and I just wanted someone opinion on if I should retest in a few days, if it's a false negative, positive but faint or if I'm just looking the plot!!! There must be someone who's done this too 🙊😍😭❤️

Wasn't your period only due yesterday? I would imagine all this stressing might be delaying it slightly.

CityMole · 23/02/2016 10:24

I say this with lots of good intentions for your wellbeing- but you need to calm the fuck right down! You've been testing very early and erratically, and you're getting yourself wound up now. If there is a little blastocyst the size of a dot snuggling its way into your womb right now, give it a bloody chance to do so! Grin

Your options- test using FMU now that your period is actually overdue. If you keep getting negative results and your period is not coming, then this could be down to a number of factors, not least stress. If it continues for a number of weeks see your doctor. I really hope you get a BFP today or tomorrow though, and am rooting for you. Just, sit down and have a cup of tea or whatever in the meantime and give your body a chance, yeah? Smile

Sarah112233 · 23/02/2016 17:18

I will try! I'm just being so silly haha I went and had a day off work today and a swim and calmed down with my other heart and had a little chat about it, I'll keep you all updated, I do need to calm the fuck down 😂 I've realised that now! xxxx

I know how hard it is not to fret and hope but try your best to distract yourself from it all Sarah. And if you do get your period and not a BFP come back for some hand holding. I remember desperately sobbing some months and still feel gutted when it comes.

Sarah112233 · 23/02/2016 19:21

Thank you, I appreciate it xxxx

Guys, this really isn't me being desperate I'm genuinely just interested, I didn't use a FMU, I just squeezed a dribble (tmi) out this afternoon when the postman put the tests through the door at 3pm, what's the deal with the hormone levels?? xxxxxxx

Sarah112233 · 23/02/2016 19:48

I did drink like 3 pints of water to try and make myself wee as well haha I was just wondering if FMU really makes a huge difference?

BeardMinge · 23/02/2016 19:58

Depends I suppose. I got my very strong bfp in the afternoon, but it was three days after my period was due. Everyone's different.

Arborea · 23/02/2016 20:02

Hi Sarah, at 3pm your HCG levels will be pretty low, regardless of how much water you drank.

Give yourself a break and test in the morning. I hope it all goes well but I think it's pretty rare to 'catch' as soon as you start trying. In my case it took over 3 years to conceive DC1! It's impossible to sustain the BFP drama every month without going loopy, so I do hope you can rein yourself in for the sake of your own sanity if things don't work out this time.

Best wishes xx

Sarah112233 · 23/02/2016 20:06

Thank you Arborea and BeardMinge 😂❤️😘

Also, and this is purely my own experience, but both times I conceived it was in months where we weren't particularly trying and were distracted by moving house on one occasion and my 40th birthday on the other.

My period is like clockwork normally but I was so distracted I hadn't even realised I was late. This was after several years of ttc with no joy. Convinced that not being hyper aware and stressing about it all played a part in it all.

BeardMinge · 23/02/2016 20:08

Good luck!

Nahma · 23/02/2016 20:12

Thinking of you Sarah! Let us know what happens in the morning x

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 23/02/2016 20:18

Test again in the morning, your urine is the most concentrated then so will have higher hormone levels. Good luck!

FoolsAndJesters · 23/02/2016 20:18

Good luck. Have you looked at the ttc threads on Mumsnet

Arborea · 23/02/2016 22:26

Me too Beard Minge. First time I was waiting to see the consultant to start IVF, and the second time it was also my 40th and although we were letting nature take its course I really wasn't in ttc mindset and had to rush out and buy folic acid as soon as I realised!

Lucinda15 · 24/02/2016 07:02

Hi Sarah good luck with testing today. I second having a look at the conception board, loads of great threads on there and lots of ladies all in your position (and quite a few POAS addicts!! Wink I am a self confessed addict, 6 weeks preggo and still doing it lol!!!) x best of luck.

Threesquids · 24/02/2016 09:01

How did you get on?

Sarah112233 · 24/02/2016 09:22

Morning guys, tested this morning and BFN again, so maybe not this month, I've been looking into a few things regarding my medical history and I knew it would be hard to concieve (I have insulin intolerance and a little on the heavy side) compared to the normal lady, so I guess we'll just have to keep trying. Sadly as a nïave child I refused to take medication and have recently started again so hopefully I can rectify some of the problem 😔 nothing's ever easy!

I'm sorry to hear that Sad

I am a great believer in the tried and tested method of conception: 'shagging until your eyes bleed'. Especially if your cycles are a bit unreliable (and it's rather more fun than charting your mucous). I hope you have some luck soon Flowers

Sarah112233 · 24/02/2016 10:39

CityMole! you total babe, yes you're right that does sound far more fun 😂

Sorry Sarah, it's such a roller coaster. I have no idea if it made and difference but I used Preseed this month and hey presto. Maybe just coincidence but maybe worth a try! Hope you don't have to wait long for a sticky bean! x

Sarah112233 · 24/02/2016 12:24

Thank you I'll give it a try :)

I'm 14 weeks and like someone said above we managed it when we were more relaxed about it. In fact I was about to arrange to go back to the docs to go back on the pill as we hadn't conceived in two years and we're making wedding plans.

I don't know what it was that made me but I had a weird feeling the day I bought my test. It was like I knew deep down.

Don't get caught up in endless testing and symptom spotting. I'm 14 weeks and other than a bump emerging and being as tired as a dormouse I don't feel a thing in my tummy. I know there's one there as I've seen it, but symptom spotting gets you nowhere. Even at scan my baby was 7cm long which is nothing yet!

I reduced myself to tears monthly thinking this was it, that my symptoms weren't AF they were a baby. Only test when late, otherwise you just convince yourself it's just too early and you could still be pregnant only for AF to show up when she's supposed to! Avoid testing before your period, you don't have any reason to think it until it's late.

And even if you temped, did ovulation predictor kits, had sex at exactly the fertile time, it doesn't mean it'll definitely happen then. I waited 2 years, I never thought it'd be that long.

You'll get there but stop stressing yourself about it!
