I got a really bad pain in my lower right side last night walking back from my friends. It's subsided to a dull ache now but it's stressing me out a bit. No bleeding and it's not noticible unless I move about too much - do you think it's just growing / stretching pains? 14+5 (ish) now

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 17/04/2016 17:23

Went to hospital last night as desperately wanted to know if I'd made any progress...no progress, he's measuring 41 weeks and I'm only 37! My spd is so so bad now, I'm really panicking he's going to get too big and not be able to be born vaginally??? I don't have appointment with consultant till 38.5 weeks, and don't know what to do in the meantime....

We were so hopefull for the sweep to work, I've had plently of 'shows', we done the deed, I had curry, bounced on birth ball for hours, tried nipple stimulation, lots of raspberry leaf tea, continuing evening primrose oil, walked for two hours...pretty much tried everything!

I had some pretty intense contractions here and there, along with the usual constant strong Braxton hicks...but nothing more...

I feel so close yet so far, and feel like the hospital are just happy to leave me like this...really worried about his size, I'm in so much pain and he's only going to get even bigger :( x

Bowserlovesmojitos · 18/04/2016 08:33

Northern I've been having similar pains - usually in the same area and at times when I've twisted or moved too quickly it's been rather sharp......so of course I ran to my mummy asking/panicking about it to which she reassured me it was probably just round ligament pain - further confirmed by the midwife and a health visitor friend.
Try not to worry unless the pain increases or you develop other symptoms like a fever or vomiting (if morning sickness has finished!)

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 18/04/2016 08:56

Definitely round ligament pain guys...it started around the 15 week mark with me, its like a sudden sharp stitch that would just put me to the floor and stop you in your tracks like musical statues! Wink
You'll get used to it. And it'll pass x

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 18/04/2016 08:57

Still no baby here Sad

Northernlight22 · 18/04/2016 09:29

Aargh Paws!

Pain seems to have gone today (woohoo) but instead a cold has arrived 😫 Plenty hot fluids today for me!

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 18/04/2016 19:19

Glad pains gone northern! Bummer about cold...rest up x

Had another sweep today at hospital...another booked for Thursday if no baby arrives! Then after that, next Monday...if still no baby, they plan induction....

REALLY don't want induction, but he's getting very big measuring 41+ weeks, by Monday they will have to look at induction I guess Sad

Hopefully this sweep or the next one will do the job! Here's hoping...

MrPoppersPenguins · 18/04/2016 21:20

Paws... One of my friends was scared as her baby measured really big and when he was born he was 5lb!! How wrong can you be??

OTheHugeManatee · 19/04/2016 09:14

Long time no post! 20+4 now and had my scan yesterday! The baby was very uncooperative, which meant they couldn't get a good look at the heart and I need to go back on Friday, but I do know I'm having a little girl. I can feel her wriggling sometimes now too, which is slightly freaky but also lovely.

Keys - so pleased to see you and baby are still doing well despite your various scares.

Paws - glad to see all has stayed well with you and you're preparing the eviction notice Grin

And hello to everyone I haven't met on this thread! Congrats to the new joiners and especially fingers crossed for penguins.

MrPoppersPenguins · 19/04/2016 09:21

Thanks Manatee, things are exciting for you at the moment then! I've got a scan later today but pretty sure I know what the conclusion will be. Keeping busy and distracting myself though.

OTheHugeManatee · 19/04/2016 09:25

I had a few breakthrough bleeds early in this pregnancy so really hoping it's something similar for you penguins. All fingers and toes crossed for you.

Bowserlovesmojitos · 19/04/2016 10:11

penguin fingers, toes and eyes all crossed for you.

Manatee it's lovely to hear from you and you must be so pleased to know little one is still doing ok Smile Apparently 15% of anomaly scans have to be redone due to unhelpful babies so don't think too much of it.

Am currently 18weeks but having a bit of a breakdown - woke up with a dodgy tummy and now convinced things have gone wrong. I am not enjoying this pregnancy at all Sad

OTheHugeManatee · 19/04/2016 10:59

bowser - I'm in a FB antenatal group and something like half of us have had to go back! I think we have a particularly uncooperative crop of babies Hmm

Sorry you're not feeling well. Completely sympathise on the dodgy tummy anxiety - I had really iffy guts for a while at about 17-19wks and was constantly paranoid. It's easy to say 'try to relax, chances are everything's fine' but I found the period between 12wk and 20wk scans actually quite hard, as the sickness was gone and I couldn't feel the baby moving either so it felt quite hard to believe I was pregnant at all Confused

Rennies, fennel tea, rest if you can, find something to do to distract you. You'll get through this.

dobbythedoggy · 19/04/2016 12:38

paws just delurking to wish you luck and say I'm crossing my fingers your Samuel arrives quickly and without the need for inductuion. I drank loads of rasberry leaf tea from what I read about it, it doesn't bring on labour but is throught to make contractions more effective when it does happen. Also take anything anyone says about size with as theory, measuring bump isn't really that reliable unless done by the same person. My grandma measured small with 8lbs plus undiagnosed twins and both growth scans for mine were wildly inacurate!

Bowserlovesmojitos · 19/04/2016 12:57

Manatee that is it exactly! There is no day to day reassurance baby is still ok. We had a private scan at 14weeks as we were going away and I needed to be able to relax, and heard the hb at 16weeks but it's still so so hard.
However - hearing you had tummy troubles around this time is a massive reassurance, as it means maybe it's not a sign of things going wrong but just normal? I hope.
20week scan next week - will only be 19+3 but oh golly I need to see little one again!

Thank you for the hand holding!

OTheHugeManatee · 19/04/2016 13:13

I'm sure your tummy trouble is just that, tummy trouble. Others in my FB antenatal group had similar experiences as well - either no gut movement or everything at once, all sorts of loveliness Hmm

FWIW I find fennel tea very settling to a dodgy stomach. The worst thing though is the not knowing. You'll feel so much better when you've had the scan next week Smile

sundayraspberry · 19/04/2016 19:42

bowser I was very loose bowel-wise just before my 20 week scan with a flare up of IBS symptoms which I put down to pre scan anxiety! Not long before you feel baby moving I bet tho.

Hope your little girl behaves herself for the re scan on Friday manatee. Guessing there was a mass exodus to FB after the issues with your MN antenatal group?

Keep looking for a birth announcement here from paws, come on Samuel!

MrPoppersPenguins · 19/04/2016 20:27

As expected my scan didn't show anything today and confirmed by a negative pregnancy test this eve (wanted to be sure it wasn't just too early to see!) so this weekend must have been an extremely early miscarriage. Slightly better news is the worrying vascular problem they thought I had in my uterus doesn't seem to be as bad as first thought but it's a watch and wait situation now. Advised not to ttc for a few months while things settle down.
Wishing you all healthy, successful pregnancies and hopefully I'll be back in this group in the not too distant future X

Bowserlovesmojitos · 19/04/2016 20:37

Oh penguin I am sorry. Please please look after yourself, rest and try to focus on the future - the interim period can be so difficult.
I would suggest hopping over to the mc board, everyone there is so supportive and can be a comfort.

Manatee and sunday I could kiss you both, genuinely you have no idea just how calming it is to hear about squiffy tummies!

I'm feeling bubbly type movements now and then which I'm trying not to concentrate on but seems possible it's some kicking going on.....

OTheHugeManatee · 19/04/2016 20:47

So sorry to hear that penguins Flowers

sunday I can't remember what prompted the move to FB to be honest and I'm saying nothing about the weirdness but September 2016 was a very busy thread and I've found the FB threaded format much easier to follow.

In fact, bowser (or anyone else due around September) you are welcome to join us if you like? Oh and 'bubbly' sounds very much like I did shortly before I definitely felt it for the first time Smile

chandelierswinging · 19/04/2016 21:11

Penguins Flowers So sorry.

sundayraspberry · 19/04/2016 22:25

Very sorry penguins and I hope the next few months of watching and waiting go by quickly for you x

Bubbly sounds about right for movement bowser, I found my early sensations felt like wind must stop talking about my bowels now Blush

rider1975 · 19/04/2016 23:35

So sorry penguins. Terrible news. Take good care of yourself xx

Sofiaspaghetti · 20/04/2016 03:09

Hi everyone...feeling like Iam in limbo land here. 7 weeks on and feeling out of body. So strange not "letting" ourselves get excited....not talking about names,or re-arranging the house to accomodate a new person. Physically feeling fine.Tired and boobs sore but other than that nothing new. The last time I was pregnant I rushed to the Dr . Rushed to have an ultrasound. This time I have not been to the Dr yet.And the idea of having an ultrasound utterly freaks me out!
I have an appointment with the GP tomorrow,so I guess that will make it feel more real. Sometimes I think there is a reason ,other than it being hard to date the due date ,that they tell you to wait a few cycles....and that's because it's so hard to wrap your head around. Having a BFP,losing it at 9 weeks then falling again 4 weeks later !!!

Northernlight22 · 21/04/2016 08:25

Sofia it's definitely a strange time!
