Lost you!

I'm really apprehensive tonight as I've got my booking in appointment tomorrow. It's early as I'm only 6 (midwife booked in early because of mc) so I'm worried I'm going to get my hopes up and it's going to all fall apart again.

Hopefully early scan referral will be sorted tomorrow too.

Northernlight22 · 17/02/2016 20:40

Lynsey, stay positive - hope this time goes quick for you x

LynseyH5 · 17/02/2016 21:12

Thank you but positive thoughts have well and truly gone. I know I need to try and accept it but it's hard without confirmation x

Lilliana · 17/02/2016 22:00

Has anyone be heard from Allmychildrenhavepaws? I've pm'd her but no answer. Hope she is ok.

Sorry I've been away. Reading but feeling crap and trying to keep going for DD. I will try to be better at keeping up with everyone. Thanks for the new thread keys

dobbythedoggy · 17/02/2016 23:44

keys I am well and truely waddeling and occasionally getting stuck in ways I didn't when I was pregnant with dd. It may as well be summer in our house at the moment as dh has finally worked out how to get the stove in the living room roaring where as in pervious winters only I could manage to light it. I tend to be more hot blooded than him even when I'm not carrying my own personal central heating system. In just vest and pants I feel like his trying to cook me at the moment despite sitting in the bay window with all the windows open! Will be refusing to buy more coal until after bump arrives and I get back to a more normal post birth temp regulation once he burns through the last couple of bags. When you do get to this stage in the summer the best tip in the world I can give you is to get loads of ice in a bowl or frezze bottles of water and put them in front of fans to make your own air conditioning, stops the fans just moving hot air about. Also invest in muslin squares wet and chill them and put them on your skin to air dry. Although dd was November born the October half term before she was born might have well have been summer, wet muslins felt like heaven!

Personally have had a few random days of feeling really anxious, not helped by poor dd not being herself with what must be a strange virus. But had pre birth visit from health visitor today who spent ages talking to me trying to get to the bottom of what's worrying me and feel much more settled after disscusing everything with dh tonight.

lil I hope you're feeling better soon.

I posted on an earlier thread months and months ago, when I was only 6 weeks along and so so scared after 2 previous MCs -- now I am 39+5, after a scare with an early brown bleed but no problems since! For anyone who's coming in during early pregnancy, you can do this thing.

obsessedlex · 18/02/2016 07:13

That's really positive to hear womb - thank you and good luck with the next few days!!
I had my acupuncture yesterday and she managed to calm me down really well, I feel much more at ease and with a whatever will be will be attitude. I can't recommend it highly enough, I feel supported which has helped me so much.
I usually hate all the inspirational quotes you see on Facebook but this one hit a note this morning so I thought I'd share it with you all.
lyndsey I hope this week goes quickly for you love. It's a horrendous place to be; limbo, you just look after yourself xxxx

lynsey I'm so sorry the scan did not give you the reassurance you needed. You must be feeling heartbroken but I am keep everything crossed for you. look after yourself this week Flowers

Good luck to everyone else having scans and booking appts today. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way x

I am struggling a little - only 5+2 weeks pregnant and no symptoms (apart from sore nips). Have done a repeat PT which came back v strong positive but still able to convince myself somehow that this is no assurance. Positive and negative sides of my brain are in a fierce battle!! thanks for the encouragement wombofonesown - the (hopefully) 8 months ahead seem such a long road!!

Lucinda15 · 18/02/2016 07:20

obsessed I love that quote!! Have said it to a friend a few months ago when she was worried about surgery....conveniently forgot to say it to myself when I need it most. Thanks for reminding me!! Glad the acupuncture helped - I have been having it while TTC but can't say I enjoy it much lol!!! I am also having reflexology which I find a lot nicer. But both have a good effect on me so I'm carrying on with them. Next appt in a weeks time tho, cld do with it now! Mind in a tizz!

Eastend2015 · 18/02/2016 09:07

Deep breaths ladies- 22 weeks after an EP and an MMC and feeling the LO wriggling about on a regular basis now. It's easy to forget, but when it's meant to be it's meant to be xxx

Crumbles12 · 18/02/2016 10:32

Thanks for the new thread keys!

Sophia1984 · 18/02/2016 10:40

16 week midwife appointment today - really hope she listens to heartbeat. It says in my notes that she should so fingers crossed! I'm never sure what to say when she asks if I'm ok.. physically I am, but mentally I am super anxious at minute. Know from my experience with consultant that if you say 'fine thanks' they think everything is ok, even if you're just being polite!

Eastend2015 · 18/02/2016 11:29

Tell her you feel anxious Sophia! It's totally natural and nothing to be ashamed of. My MW and consultants have all been super supportive about my history and actually helpfully explained they see lots of people with similar histories who go in to have totally fine pregnancies. They see people day in and day out so can be trusted- and they can't be more supportive if they don't know!

LynseyH5 · 18/02/2016 11:44

I'll echo that, if your anxious, tell her. You won't say anything they haven't heard before so let her support you xx

Sophia1984 · 18/02/2016 13:30

Midwife and student midwife were both lovely and reassuring about anxiety - even to point of saying there's a mother and baby unit at local mental health hospital if I needed that. Also got to hear baby's heartbeat. to add to anxiety though I have a trace of protein in urine so need to be tested for UTI and am now freaking out that that will cause me to miscarry :-( Does explain why I keep needing toilet though!

obsessedlex · 18/02/2016 13:45

Its normal to need the toilet lots in early pregnancy something to do with increase in blood volume and so kidneys working harder and producing more urine - I think....... if anyone is more medical than me please come and tell me!! Must have been lovely to hear the heartbeat! xx

Crumbles12 · 18/02/2016 15:03

It's definitely normal to need the loo so much! I think it also has something to do with the fact the uterus is stretching and moving around squashing everything else out the way, I keep finding there is moments when I don't need to go but so much pressure on my bladder then it eases off again. Try not to worry though they will probably just give you antibiotics and it will be fine it's unlikely to cause any problems with the baby.

Eastend2015 · 18/02/2016 15:38

Obsessed yes that's right, I read that somewhere too.

Sophia please chill love, it won't do the LO any good. UTIs are super common in pregnancy, that's why they screen us for them, so that they don't become an issue. Hearing the heartbeat is wonderful isn't it?

Turi1983 · 18/02/2016 16:09

keys thank you for explaining the high and low symptoms, really appreciate that.

obsessedlex glad I’m not the only one to worry about changing symptoms. I must try acupuncture … hate needles though…!

lynsey I am really really sorry hun. Sending hugs and strength.

bowerlovesmojitos twins Sad I’m sorry – I lost twins last year. I will keep everything crossed that the little bean stays put. I have also booked private scans (at 8 weeks & 4 and 11 weeks).

northernlight22 how did your booking in app go?

sophia1984 I hope the UTI clears up soon. So pleased you managed to hear the heartbeat.

I feel sick as a dog today and so tired I could cry (did I mention weepy?). My back is also hurting which seems early at 7 and 3 days. Have also had the runs (sorry TMI) since week 5 but seeing the doctor tonight so will speak to her then.

I think about miscarrying all the time. Think I’m going a bit nuts. One week tomorrow until my next scan.

Eastend2015 · 18/02/2016 16:15

Turi I had the runs a lot in the early days, it can be another symptom but worth checking it out with the doctor!

Northernlight22 · 18/02/2016 16:19

Booking in done now - midwife was lovely, I got upset about last mc and she said straight away she'd refer me to early pregnancy so I'm just waiting on a date for a reassurance scan now. Feel so relieved!

obsessedlex · 18/02/2016 16:43

I've just called the midwife to tell them I'm pregnant - I've not wanted to tell them before now as I thought I'd be tempting fate!! God I hope I haven't!

Turi1983 · 18/02/2016 16:54

eastend2015 the only thing is that I had severe constipation in my last pregnancy. Weird. Since then I had surgery to remove severe endometriosis around my bowels & colon but I don't think that would make a difference...

northernlight22 glad it went well! How far gone are you now?

obsessedlex you won't have done - don't worry

chandelierswinging · 18/02/2016 18:23

Turi I've had loose stools for weeks now (full on diarrhoea once), but have put that down to my bowel position, or rather my uterus position (long story, on thread 7!), and everything being irritated around there, so maybe there is an endo link?? I might be wrong though (perhaps I should mention it to the mw or Dr?) so let us know what they say.

Northern Great that you've had your booking in appt. Your mw sounds lovely. Hope you get your early scan in soon.

sophia I've had a few UTIs in previous pgs thankfully not this time Keep well hydrated! Oh and a tip for painful peeing (also useful for post birth) is to pour warm water on your bits as you pee.

Womb What lovely news. Thank you for coming back and posting; gives us all hope. Best of luck with your impending arrival.

Northernlight22 · 18/02/2016 19:00

I'm about 6+5, they got me in early because of my mc so I was a bit nervous about tempting fate!
