oh honey
this is getting ridiculous

have they given anyu hint of what on earth could be ging on>

mummytosteven · 27/12/2006 20:15

f&ck. sorry this is dragging out so much. what are they going to do tomorrow, recheck your HCG levels?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/12/2006 20:24

Today they said they hoped the levels had dropped, if so it was definite miscarriage that is just taking a while.

If they have gone up then they start to really look at ectopic as being the most likely outcome

Pecka, sorry you are going through all this. Hope you get some answers soon. I wonder if it could be a blighted ovum . I had one of these with my first pg. You get some pg symptoms because of the hormones produced by the placenta and the pg can continue for some weeks (I miscarried at 11 weeks, having had a lot of spotting from doing the pg test up till then - was told by Dr it was old blood and nothing to worry about). Didn't have pain though (until I actually miscarried).

Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 27/12/2006 20:27

Have just opened and speed read becka's posts. I had a miscarriage in March after low increasing hcg levels at when they were 1851 and there was something in the uterus and something on the tube the doctor panicked as he thought my tube was about to rupture any minute. It turned out the the result was actally 185.1 and not 1851 so panic over. I don't understand why your hcg levels are still increasing and I know that they should double every 2 days but that is a guideline and your levels are increasing. How many weeks are you I wonder? Are you going to an nhs hospital for these scans because I did read a recent thread where a mumsnetter was told the sac was empty and so went to a private clinic where they confirmed the heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!

Very best of luck, hope this preg turns out to be viable.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 27/12/2006 20:30

Also, at that hcg level they should be able to see if it is ectopic or not and you would be in serious pain in your pubic/lower abdomen area and also a shoulder pain. I read that you did have shoulder pain but that you were on the phone? Also, the pain with an ectopic does not subside, it gets worse.

popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:33

Are you going to the RVi pecka?
think you need to be really bolshy with them
i am really schocked and concerned about this
they are suggesting ectopic yet are not investiagting thoroughly
you know yourself about spook and how awful it can be
you are (lucky is not the right word but...) lucky that if it is ectopic that it has not got serius
god
throow a strop
cry demand to be investigated fully
xxxx

cyrilthefestivesquirrel · 27/12/2006 20:35

they seem a bit casual about it tbh. Can they see anything from the scan within your tubes?

The fact that the HCG is rising slowly does suggest an ectopic but it's odd that nothing has happened yet.

Have they suggested the posibility of a laparopscy to have a look what's going on? (if they are certain you don't have a viable pregnancy)

cyrilthefestivesquirrel · 27/12/2006 20:37

you said what I wanted to say much better popsycal.

When I had a suspected ectopic they were very, very thorough until they were sure it wasn't.

Their attitude is quite alarming really.

popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:38

please pecka
is dh going with you?
i can coe if you want?
i can do bolshy and crying

PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/12/2006 20:38

They have told me in no uncertain terms taht this pregnancy is not viable.

I should be 7-8 weeks pregnant.

The sac has been empty from the very first scan yet the levels have gone from 800 - 2600 yet showed no growth of this sac.

why cant they understand how awful this is? why dont they give me a termination?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/12/2006 20:40

Yes popsy, Ive been goign to the RVI.

The nurse on the phone before when i rang for results said the levels have risen again the doctor wants you in for a scan at 9.30. I said to her that I had had a scan today and she said I know but we want to do another one.

What can they see tomorrow that they cant today?

OP posts:
popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:41

Pecka
Is dh going with you?
I am happy to come if he can't come.
If they have told you it isnt viable how the hell can they keep you hanging on like this - especially when there is a chance that it might be ectopic!?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/12/2006 20:42

DH is off but not sure what to do with kids.

Stacey came with me today.

she said today that the doctor would discuss with me tomorrow about miscarriage options but that because its so early and small they would recommend I just wait for nature to take its course. This was when she was presuming the levels would have dropped though.

OP posts:
popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:43

Is there any reason that tey wouldnt just just in and help the miscarriage on if they said it isnt viable?
what is holding them up
sorry i sound really unsympathetic 9and you know i ma not hun)
but his just makes me so mad

mummytosteven · 27/12/2006 20:43

I agree pecka, I don't understand what other than your HCG levels could have changed in 24 hours, seeing as you have had a week between 2 scans already.

popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:44

do you want me to come and watch the kids

popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:45

nature take its course - ....you need to express your worry abotu ectopic and ask fror frim proof that it is NOT ectopic before any of the 'nature taking its course;opyion xxxx

cyrilthefestivesquirrel · 27/12/2006 20:48

pecka, did they see any placenta?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/12/2006 20:48

popsy thanks so much for your offer, your a sweetie. i think ill be fine - my mum and sis etc are all off school so should be able to get one of them up.

OP posts:
PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/12/2006 20:48

the sac is completely empty, she even said today that it not really identifiable as a pregnancy sac and could be a blood clot?!

OP posts:
popsycal · 27/12/2006 20:50
