I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Really hoping for some light at the end of the HG tunnel for you soon Reebok. You really deserve at least a few good days. X

eallison88 · 18/11/2015 20:51

amys well done on seeing the positive - I was gonna say, at leastc it means you're not gonna have to plan or mark. Will it also mean that you'll get out of duties etc?

madrigal I meant to say, cramping and a bit of spotting isn't as unusual as we'd all like it to be, more often than not it doesn't mean anythings wrong. The worry is horrid though, thinking of you.

ems that made me chuckle!

amysmummy12345 · 18/11/2015 20:58

Do you mean like playground duties? I hope so lol Grin it does mean if I'm feeling particularly crap there's no pressure for me to turn up... I can pick and choose when I work, but need to take sure I work during the qualifying weeks for mat pay x

MotherofPearl · 19/11/2015 08:07

Today's my day at work, wish me luck ladies. Currently on the train in and hoping for less crippling nausea than of late. Seem to have a full day of teaching and meetings ahead. Argh. Thinking of everyone today and hoping for good days all round. I remember that someone has a scan tomorrow; remind me who it is?

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 19/11/2015 08:09

Good luck Mop will be thinking of you Flowers

Reebok · 19/11/2015 08:12

Good luck Mop: Hope it goes well for you. Try to take it as easy as possible.

Also on way in to work and praying for the weekend to hurry and get here so I can rest. I'm so exhausted and fed up with work.

MotherofPearl · 19/11/2015 08:30

Thinking of you in hospital Icant. And Reebok hope your day goes OK at work. Hang in there: Friday tomorrow, and another week done.

MadrigalElectromotive · 19/11/2015 08:47

Good luck MOP. It is me who has a scan tomorrow - feeling very nervous!

MotherofPearl · 19/11/2015 09:07

Of course Madrigal, and you have this anxiety of the bleeding. Hope that's settled down now. At least not too long to wait for scan.

squeezed · 19/11/2015 12:21

Hope work has been ok for you mop and thinking of you madrigal.

Had another day off yesterday and waiting for occupational health assessment. Will try to get in tomorrow because the mounting work is just too stressful. Only sick once yesterday but really dizzy and faint, not sure if it's the new meds but it's difficult to look after DD when feeling so ill. Cbeebies is my saviour!

spandau1980 · 19/11/2015 12:26

Good luck MOP xx
Good luck all at wk today xx
Try not to worry madrigal. (Though if it were me I wouldn't be able to stop worrying)

16 weeks TODAY
AND I STILL FEEL SICK .... GO ME

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 19/11/2015 15:42

Sorry Madigral I missed your post - I hope your ok - I had lots of bleeding and still do about once a week (I'm 15+1) thinking of you tomorrow.
Reebok - hope work goes ok, nearly end of the day now?
Squeezed - totally agree with ceebeebies! Hope the dizziness settles soon.
Spandau - when did it go with your other pregnancys? Or did it not? HG is a bitch.

Not sure if I updated and said I've been told it's pancreatitis? Dosed up on morphine (which I really didn't want) still sick 3-4 times a day. Having everything IV and rinitidine IV 4x a day as blood in vomit , hoping to be home by Monday but have to see Rheumotolgy (about the lupus) and medical team about a plan.
Hopefully all will get sorted!

Only read this page so sorry if I've missed any more posts.

Thinking of you all though.

iamdivergent · 19/11/2015 16:54

Goodness icant you're not having an easy time of it at all. I really hope you start to feel better soon.

I've gone down to two tablets per the actual prescription instructions. Feel OK but I'm waiting for dinner so will see how that goes, had my first at 6:30 then my second at 2:30 - that's me for the day.

MotherofPearl · 19/11/2015 17:00

Oh good lord Icant, that's dreadful! So sorry to hear how unwell you are. Really hope they can put a proper treatment plan in place.
Well, my day at work was OK but you'll never guess what has happened. All trains on my route have been cancelled and I'm currently on a rail replacement COACH! This is my worst time of the day for nausea and sickness, so feeling extremely anxious. Have just taken an Ondanestron so hoping for the best. No idea how long it's going to take to get home. Really hope I can avoid a vom in this environment.

spandau1980 · 19/11/2015 17:04

Pancreatis is life threatening Icant !
I m so anxious about you ??
What's your oh said??
You need everything they can give you to get rid of the pancreatis ok!!
You must have a will of iron your so brave x

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 19/11/2015 17:34

iam good luck with your dinner I'll keep my fingers crossed.
MoP a coach sounds like my worst nightmare! I really hope it goes okay. Fingers crossed ondanstaron works ASAP.
spandau I knew deep down I had it think as the pain was horrible so just glad it's getting sorted, just feel guilty about the morphine. OH doesn't seem phased but I think he's used to seeing me like it? I've always been a poorly person. How are you?

spandau1980 · 19/11/2015 18:28

Still battling on but I know I'm improving so feel so much guilt when I moan and u are stuck battling in hospital again.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 19/11/2015 18:42

spandau honestly don't feel bad for moaning - that's what this page is for. I get a bit wary doing updates as don't want people to feel like that if that makes sense? X

eallison88 · 19/11/2015 18:46

icant at least you have a diagnosis. Hoping they get you on the mend soon.

mop that sounds like my worst nightmare at the best of times. Hoping you manage to go vomit free!

LucindaE · 19/11/2015 18:50

Ican't I'm shocked too that they've taken so long to find out you have this. I so agree with others, you are very brave.
Madrigal Thinking of you in this time of horrible stress.
MotherofPearl Goodness, on a coach, poor you. This always seems to happen at the very times you can't stand the thought of a long journey on public transport.
I hope reebok and squeezed didn't have to bad a day, and anyone else working. amysmum did you have to go in today? Charlie did you say you are still commuting, too, and that' s how those awful people came to step over you?

spandau Never feel guilty for moaning. Poor *Ican't has it as badly as can be, but it's still hard even when it's milder. It's disappointing that milestone has passed, but I hope it's edging towards getting considerably better and quietly leaving you soon.
Iam Best of luck with dinner.
Hyperemesis is the most unwelcome of guests to outstay its welcome.

Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked.

amysmummy12345 · 19/11/2015 19:38

Hey all, another day done at school... Nausea hasn't been too bad today but I think its because I'm kept busy... Felt pants since I got home. Did manage to eat a school dinner though, bland macaroni cheese Smile glad you've got a diagnosis icant but gutted its taken so long, hope they can start to put things into place for you, hope all have had a good day, couldn't imagine anything worse than having to suffer a coach journey Confused xxx

iamdivergent · 19/11/2015 20:12

Argh was doing so well today and them boom - chippy chips are not so nice on the way back up! Had no warning either just lucky I was in the bathroom or it could have been a disaster.

spandau1980 · 19/11/2015 20:16

Thanks Lucinda
I am better than I was .. but now feel like others I suppose with more normal sickness in pregnancy which is still no fun !
one vom today after shower but I'm so scared to wash now I may bring on sickness lol the smells ect ... ew
I still detest clean washing smells and my kitchen is rank lol
Weird smell thing coming and going a bit now though ...
So fingers crossed in next couple weeks I'll be fit as a fiddle ... well ok just not crying about what to eat or drink as I despise meals and snacks at the moment

Reebok · 19/11/2015 20:16

I'm so bored of the meals I'm surviving on...coco pops for breakfast, cheese sandwich for lunch, cheese toast for dinner...ready salted crisps in between. I still can't stomach hot meals. Oh food...how I miss you. And water...well during the working week I seem to struggle more with drinking it as its makes me nauseous. Weekends I can manage to drink slightly more. Today has been mainly nausea. Great thing is I've finally had a day where I haven't thrown up!! 17 weeks tomorrow so hopefully it means I will be better by 18 weeks.

Icant I don't even know what to say! You are so strong and brave. My prayers are always with you. Really hope they can help you. Please do not go home until you're better. I know you miss ds but he needs his mummy well and it's not going to happen at home.

Mop you poor thing! Hope you got home ok!

Amy and iam glad you managed some food. Hope it stays down.

Squeezed how are you? Shoop hope you're doing ok.

Waves to ealli, ems, meerka, spandau, Mother Hen and anyone else I've missed.

In bed with a hot water bottle for horrible sciatic pain and I feel like crying because pain is so bad. But because I'm so still I can feel baby moving away which is keeping me calmer.

Reebok · 19/11/2015 20:18

Iam and spandau sorry to hear you both feel so rubbish. I totally agree about chips. I have a fear of eating them as I find them painful coming up. Apples are painful too!
