eagle..... thinking of you and hoping a bedroom becomes available..
shabby I also had an ELCS last time and shall have the same again. Natural childbirth and me did not go so well and my recovery with the CS was very good. Mind you I didn't have a small toddler last time around. I raised the bed last time as it made easier getting in and out and have already done the same in preparation.
Even though my CS is not until the 20th....

Hi. I'm new on here. Just found out I was expecting at weekend. I'm 5 weeks gone so very early days. I'm 41 years and so good to hear others stories. Unfortunately I started experiencing period like cramps yesterday which moved from centre to my right side. Had blood taken which was fine and thoroughly examined. Attending Early pregnancy unit tomorrow for more tests, May be an ectopic pregnancySad.Previously miscarried 14 years ago.

leotwist · 04/05/2016 01:03

Gorgeous cuddly baby, Eagle! And welcome Lailala! Like you say, early days for you yet, when cramping & spotting not unusual. But fingers crossed for you.

EagleRay · 04/05/2016 05:25

Poor baby in nicu due to low blood sugar - have no idea if this and baby's weight are down to GD - didn't have GTT this time around. Have had one hour of sleep so far and the itching is driving me crazy it's linked to anaesthetic and keeps moving around my body.

shabbychic1 · 04/05/2016 10:30

Eagle I hope baby is ok and itching stops. Sending hugs CakeFlowers

shabbychic1 · 04/05/2016 10:33

In antenatal for my GTT, ooh the drink is gross! Clinic full of horrific extended families shouting, swearing and talking about who's going out tonight and who's going to avoid the lads who are meant to 'smack their heads in'. Everyone (inc. me) are sitting in shock very quietly. Not very pleasant!

Dixxie · 04/05/2016 14:13

I had what I thought was my 7 week scan today which I was hoping would reassure me... but they could only see the gestational sack and nothing in it. They said it looks more like 5+4 weeks. I'm feeling anxious as I'm sure I should be further along, and it could mean a failing pregnancy... The reality is they just don't know yet. I've seen threads where ladies went on to have beautiful babies and others who didn't. So I guess it's an agonising wait until my HCG tests come back and I have my next scan a week on Friday... Sad

How is Eaglet, Eagle? Poor both of you. Hope you're doing ok x
Period pains are complete normal Laila. I was convinced af was coming with my first pregnancy.
Where is this clinic Shabby? Sounds horrendous! Why would anyone bring extended family to an ante natal appointment? Especially loud, crazy ones!!
Sorry to hear your news Dixxie. A long wait ahead & as you say, the outcome could go either way. Everything crossed for you.

Yesterday an HGV lorry missed his turning, stopped in the middle of the road and reversed into me shunting me back about 10m! Baby is ok- midwife checked him first- and I have whiplash and a sore knee. I've taken a couple of days off to recoup. The worst thing is my mind is going crazy, I keep reliving it and then doing the 'what if' scenarios. I'm usually really pragmatic but this is really upsetting me, probably because there was baby to think about too. I had nightmares all last night when I did sleep and woke up covered in sweat. Sad it was so scary! Got to try to sort the insurance later, the driver let me photograph all his documents.

CityMole · 05/05/2016 17:13

Hello! Baby boy arrived last Weds 27th after my elcs was brought forward by a day. My section went really well for me, but unfortunately ds was one of the tiny minority of babies whose lungs don't do well from a section, and he spent a week in NICU being stabilised and fixed. Traumatic times, and I'm not sure DP or I will ever recover 100%, but all 3 of us are home now, finally!
I didn't want to post on here last week when it didn't look like good news, but am so relieved to be able to let you know that he is well at last! Smile

CityMole · 05/05/2016 17:15

Eagle, congratulations! I hope you and the baby are on the mend soon Flowers

shabbychic1 · 05/05/2016 17:43

Oh congratulations Citymole, it'll all be worth it now he's home! Talk to someone if you need to- or are offered it, it must have been very traumatic X

notsoold · 05/05/2016 18:43

shabby so scary !!!!! Poor you.... it is normal to feel very shaken but I would mention to your mw for reassurance. ...
city your baby is home!!!! Shame about such upsetting beginnings but as you say your baby is home and well....

Sitting here at 37 weeks and still few things to sort out before CS...?.

leotwist · 05/05/2016 19:01

Dixxie, how ver disappointing & worrying... Hope to get better news soon. Shabby, what a bizarre experience; glad you weren't totally squashed! Hope you get over the shock soon.

Grizzer · 05/05/2016 19:07

Congratulations City. So glad everything is ok now & you & Cityboy are home safely. How frightening it must have been. You have a proper little fighter there.
Hope you're ok Shabby.

Sheera41 · 05/05/2016 19:46

Just got my harmony test results and I'm low risk for everything!!!! Over the moon, oh and I 'm having a boy ( already have two boys, thought this one was another ) absolutely delighted feel like I've won the lottery!!! FlowersFlowersStarStarthanks to every one on here who recommended harmony, wouldn't have known about it otherwise xxx

Sheera41 · 05/05/2016 19:48

Congratulations citymole, sorry you had to go through that though and glad you are home with your little one now. Hope you are ok shabby chic, accident sounds very scary! Congratulations Eagle Ray too xx

CityMole · 05/05/2016 19:51

We are receiving counselling. There is a 30-40 % mortality rate with what LO had so we are pretty lucky, and we are more grateful and relieved than anything else at the moment. I may well post about it at some point, but not on this lovely thread, which is one of support for those with childbirth still to look forward to, as I would hate to worry anybody and detract from what was otherwise a positive birth experience maternally. Smile

leotwist · 05/05/2016 20:35

Congratulations Sheera41! So glad to hear the harmony test worked out well for you!
