Hi Dixxie - congrats ! That makes us the same number of weeks Smile. My symptoms are sore put bouncy boobs Grin, high heart rate and breathlessness, huge hormonal swings and gassy ... No sickness or dizziness here. Best of luck to you.

TheGreaterGood - thank you. I bet you can't wait for your leave - just in time for Summer too.

Dixxie · 15/04/2016 18:44

Thanks Greatergood and best of luck to you too Rider!

I spoke to a friend who had had recurring miscarriage but now has a healthy baby boy, she was so anxious on conception she went private and was prescribed progesterone v. Suppositories and from 7 weeks baby aspirin; so I called my NHS gynaecologist and spoke to his secretary explaining that I've miscarried before and asking for progesterone, she said it was his last day before retirement and to go to my doctor. The doc I did see was so dismissive and not interested at all, she just said see the midwife at 10 weeks... I was not happy! Anyway I had a surprise call today to say my gynae had authorised progesterone suppositories before he'd left so I feel much happier. And I made a fuss to the doc and should have an early appointment with an obstetrician, so hoping to get HcG test and an early scan. I feel a bit bad for being pushy given the state of the NHS but I'm super healthy other than I've been trying for 3 years and I just want to do all I can... For anyone who's wondering: Apparently progesterone isn't definitely proven to stop miscarriage but it can help in some cases and you can't have too much of it, so I figure I want it. Hope that may help some of you... Now I am so tired I'm going for a siesta! Xx

Great outcome Dixxie! I hope it works! X

brookeberry · 16/04/2016 16:22

Helloo! So sorry for the delay. I went in for induction on 6th April and ended up in hospital for a week which I wasn't expecting What a mad experience - I felt like I was going to be there forever. So the little one is here! And I still can't believe it. So far he is a little angel who doesn't cry - just feeds and sleeps although I don't see this lasting forever Grin

So the birth .... hmmm an experience not to be forgotten. Short story - induction sent me into the worst part of labour with no pain relief but an epidural sorted that out. By the time the baby was coming it had worn off! So natural childbirth with a bit of a snip and then forceps and there he was!!

So happy to get home back to DH. What an incredible journey (I do realises it's just the beginning!)

I just wanted to thank so many of you for being such an incredible support when I really needed it Flowers

I can't believe I'm a mum.

Dixxie · 16/04/2016 17:05

Congratulations Brookeberry, so lovely to hear your story and a happy outcome!

brookeberry · 16/04/2016 17:16

Thanks dixxie and congrats to you Smile Glad to hear you are starting on the progesterone. After 3 mcs that was what I was prescribed, and who knows, it may have been what made the difference this time, so I would highly recommend it.

EagleRay · 16/04/2016 17:18

Congratulations Brookeberry ThanksChocolateSmile

So glad your baby arrived safely - been thinking about you lots!

I hope you're recovering ok now - I felt utterly shocking after DD1's birth but just over 3 months later I hiked down and back up the Samiri Gorge in Crete

Who is next? I've got ELCS booked for 3rd may but wondering if I'll last...

Grizzer · 16/04/2016 21:10

Congratulations Brooke, so happy to hear everything is ok. Enjoy the sleeping tiny baby stage, they grow way too quickly!!

Oh, and congratulation on your pregnancy to greenlizard, my old thread buddy! That is great news, hope it will all go well.

Sorry for not being on here for ages, I still see some familiar names popping up, hope everyone is doing well.

Well, update from me - Josephine is now 17 weeks old, and I honestly don't know where the time is going! We're managing that awful reflux that made the first few weeks so horrendous, and she is now a happy, smiley baby, making my heart melt every time she smiles at me Smile And she has started sleeping through the night! I sometimes still can't believe she is here...

Cloudjumper, she's beautiful! Xxx

Grizzer · 21/04/2016 11:46

Lovely to see your update Cloud. Just Josephine is gorgeous. Isn't it crazy how slowly the weeks go when you're pregnant but how quickly they fly once the baby comes. Declan had his 16 week injections this morning! I'm already panicking about returning to work - might have to double my lottery ticket purchases Grin.

Enigma1975 · 21/04/2016 20:50

Hello - can I join in??!

5 weeks pregnant with my first baby at 40 (well, almost 41). Eeek! All very exciting but also flipping terrifying!! My boyfriend is much more chilled about it than me!

Feeling ok so far but sore boobs and indigestion - nice.

Feel very blessed and lucky to be here though :-)

Dixxie · 21/04/2016 21:48

Enigma - congratulations and welcome to the group, I'm also a newbie. Has anyone in this group been prescribed low dose (75ml) aspirin in pregnancy to prevent MC / blood clots? I'm 6 weeks and although anticipating a happy outcome, I'm anxious after previous MC. My doctor not interested.

shabbychic1 · 23/04/2016 15:28

Hi, I'm 40 and just over 19 weeks! Really excited! I've been prescribed aspirin75mg to prevent high bp- high Bmi. I'm having a lot of 'soreness' around uterus at the moment. Putting it down to having bad cough and all the stretching that's going on down there.

Dixxie · 24/04/2016 06:08

Hi Shabbychic, oh I'm so excited for you, 19 weeks! Congratulations. So good to hear positive stories Smile. I have always had naturally low blood pressure so perhaps aspirin not for me...

Helbelle75 · 24/04/2016 06:55

Hi everyone, i'm 40 and 7+3 today. This is our first pregnancy and we're over the moon. We've only been ttc since January so it's all happened really quickly. Not many symptoms here - sore boobs, tiredness and backbache. Just waiting to see the midwife on Thurs for reassurance. I'm convinced something's going to go wrong!

Sheera41 · 25/04/2016 11:43

Cloudjumper Josephine is just beautiful! Congratulations to any new people on here! I have been on and off here, keep forgetting to have a peak. I'm 41 and a half, 11 weeks pregnant with my third child ( a surprise ) still feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing! Hopefully getting a harmony test this week, nhs first scan next week! Crossing everything! The exhaustion / nausea that I experienced in the first few weeks appears to be lifting, happy days! Smile
