tft, chicken pox is only dangerous on primary infection. If you have had it, it poses no danger to the baby at any stage.

cavamonster · 09/08/2015 14:34

Eek llama can't believe we are at the top!! I obviously cried a little when I saw that Grin - emotions are mental at the moment.

Thanks for doing the update x

Tftpoo · 09/08/2015 15:03

Thanks march. My husband is a biology teacher and tried to explain his viruses and immunity works this morning. I know I shouldn't worry, the baby is safe. Just been to stock up on calamine lotion - boots had run out (seems we are not the only ones to have pox in the house at the moment)!

BumbleBee0 · 09/08/2015 16:37

Congratulations on your baby daughter happy!! Grin

Welcome back baby, congratulations on your BFP.

laurita42 · 09/08/2015 17:28

Hi ladies - newbie here, so lovely to read positive stories of people having babies after so much sadness. I had a MC October 2014 at 10 weeks followed by discovery of endometriosis and a large dermal cyst on one of my ovaries that needed a laproscropy operation which I had in November 2014. Now 13 weeks+3. Have had 3 scans so far as had some spotting early on (hasn't happened again) - 12 week scan was 10 days ago and all was well. Focussing on keeping positive and wondering when to buy new bras - was a 36G going into this, god knows what I am now but can't stick with what I've got! Any advice?

Babytinx11 · 09/08/2015 17:38

Thanks bumble can quite believe I am back swore blind with lacey no more lol having a small wobble today because my sickness isnt like it was with lacey or the one I lost when lacey was 12 weeks

pocopearl · 09/08/2015 18:02

Hi

Nousername2015 · 09/08/2015 18:09

Welcome laurita and poco, hope everything is nice and boring for you from now until due date. Congrats on the 12 week scan laurita!

laurita42 · 09/08/2015 18:32

Thanks, Nouser, and congrats to poco too - definitely identify with knicker checking!

Marchgirl · 10/08/2015 08:35

Welcome laurita and poco and congratulations. Hope your stay here is long and uneventful

Mummyofonesofar · 10/08/2015 09:24

Thanks for the stats envious I was 8 weeks when I mcd.

laurita congrats on your BFP and 12w scan, my advice on bras is get a new one! I went and got fitted at a good bra shop but then bought my bra at Mothercare, the fitter there was awful so glad someone professional had already sized me up!

Welcome poco and congrats.

Treaclepie19 · 10/08/2015 09:42

Thanks for the stats llama :)

I cannot believe I'm 4th on that list... I remember being added and thinking how far down I was.
May be even earlier if I have an elcs, find out on Wednesday!

Metalhead · 10/08/2015 10:56

Hi all, just checking back in after my holiday to say congratulations to happy on your gorgeous baby girl!

Also welcome to all the newbies, I hope you have straightforward pregnancies.

I'm 23 weeks today and felt like a whale walking round in my bikini on holiday! But with temperatures in the mid to high 30s all week it was far too hot to cover up...

cloudjumper · 10/08/2015 11:58

Thanks for the stats update, llama - I can't believe that I am now sitting right in the middle of the list!

Welcome newbies, congratulations on your pregnancies! Here's to a boring 8 months (or so).

I am 19+3 today... Feeling a bit Hmm, as I had lots of movements on Friday (including what felt like some proper kicks when I was in the gym!), but hardly anything since then. I know that it's still early days and that regular movements are highly unlikely, but I liked the reminder/confirmation that baby is alive.
A week to go until the 20-week scan. Have my meeting at work tomorrow to discuss mat leave/allowance etc.

Metalhead · 10/08/2015 13:36

cloud I felt exactly the same at that stage re: movements, and ended up asking the local midwives to listen for baby's hb. They were quite happy to do it, so might be worth a call if you're really worried. It is totally normal though, I now feel movements every day but some days she's still more active than others.

MsGlitterJunkie · 10/08/2015 13:43

Huge congratulations happy she's gorgeous, just gorgeous!

Welcome and huge congrats to poco & laurita!

Sounds like you had perfect weather on your holiday metal hope you had fund despite feeling whale- like (which I'm certailn you didn't!). I'm planning to go away at 27 or 28 weeks so will probably be as big as a house then Smile

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit nervy cloud totally normal to feel like you do (not that that makes it remotely easier) but I'm sure baby is just snug as a bug and chilling out in there, not long now until your next scan.

I'm a bit jittery as I have my reassurance scan on Fri when I'll be 6+1 and am bricking it am rather nervous.....only 4 days to go.......eek!

northdownmummy · 10/08/2015 14:07

Sitting waiting for my whooping cough vaccine, another minor milestone ????

OP posts:
bythesea82 · 10/08/2015 15:49

Congratulations happy, she looks very peaceful Smile
Hope you are recovering well.

Thanks for the stats envious, I am worryingly near the top!

Welcome to the new faces. laura would recommend Bravissimo if you have one near you, I think they are always really helpful. I bought a couple at about 14 weeks and then one non underwired one a few weeks ago as I was finding sitting at a desk all day uncomfortable with the underwires.
poco hope you are doing ok. Don't think there is any way to checking and anxiety but hope this is your time and you have a smooth and easy journey.

cloud think I remember you saying the same to me but how did you get to nearly 20 weeks?! Hope the time to the scan passes quickly.

northdown you reminded me to ask you all about whooping cough vaccine. It's not been mentioned to me, should I be asking about this? Does everyone normally have it?

glitter good luck for friday.

All chugging along here. Had first antenatal class on Saturday, met some nice people and didn't come away too terrified, guess that's a good thing! Heading to see a midwife unit next week and it's all starting to seem like it might actually happen. It's been a long road since we started TTC in December 2012 and it's still very surreal that the end is now fast approaching!

Hope you all have good weeks....

northdownmummy · 10/08/2015 16:35

bythesea I live in Northern Ireland so the recommendations might be a bit different.

All pregnant women are advised to have a whooping cough vaccine shortly after 28 weeks. The logic is that the immunity passes on to the baby and covers them till they get their own vaccinations. Same with flu but that one an not available till Autumn
