Glad I'm not alone Amyy!!

Tootle10 · 24/06/2015 15:25

amyy and bristol, ignore the rude people and be proud of your bumps, I'm sure you both look fab.

Is everyone in maternity clothes yet? I still fit in my usual clothes justbut there's a sale on Seraphine and I'm tempted to order a few bits.

gennibugs · 24/06/2015 20:31

Great news amyy and tootle! amyy the good thing is you'll get to see him again in a few weeks! Mine has never played ball in any of the scans we've had so I'm interested to see what he/she does on Friday! Grin

Ah that's interesting re hormones and sleep. Might explain it! Hoping for a better night tonight.

Oh and re bumps - I'm 20 weeks today and to be honest - I'm pretty huge. There's no denying I'm pg and I look much further along. I'm in a mixture of maternity and non maternity (if stretchy). My non mat skinny jeans don't have a hope in hell of doing up lol. Ignore the rude comments - I've had people commenting on the size of my bump, but you know what, I don't care. I haven't put on weight anywhere else and I know I'm eating reasonably so I'm guessing I, just a bump heavy girl Grin

dobbythedoggy · 24/06/2015 20:32

Hi, hope it's alright to join you ladies,

I had an early mc at 5 weeks the end of last month. Dh and I decided just to keep trying instead of waiting for the next cycle. Well bfp, or 5, this morning. Not really sure about the dates, but if I read the test right I ovulated on the 11th. Have booked an appointment with my GP for next friday to ask when to book in with midwife and hopefully get a referal to epu.

I've got a dd already, 2.7yrs, who I can hopefully make a big sister. Feeling a little bit shell shocked, very much wanted, but throught it might take a while longer.

Other than that; sick, tired, thirsty and emotional!

onefootinthebed · 25/06/2015 01:03

So pleased to hear today's scans went well. I have bought my Matern clothes but yet to wear them. Today I bought leggings from H&m, I bought other stuff there the other week, it all changes so fast. They had a sale section on maternity aswell, I didn't really have a chance to look though.

Next time someone is rude or mention how big your bump is, remind them you are growing a baby and you can see they are growing in rudeness.

I remember Christmas shopping when I was having ds, I bumped into someone I grew up with but hadn't seen in years, we had a nice friendly chat and went on our way, when it came to paying I was at the front of the queue she was at the back and she shouted down the queue " are you sure your not having two your frigging huge it went on till I got served. I was so upset I didn't get the rest of my shopping .

Amyyy27 · 25/06/2015 06:56

Thanks everyone! Yeah get to see him again can't complain Grin

tootle I have a couple of maternity bits but mostly in just stretchy clothes for now. Trying to avoid any clothes that apply even the tiniest bit of pressure on my tummy as it makes me ill and really uncomfortable!

onefoot that's a good one, will use that next time!

dobby welcome and congrats! Hope you have a happy healthy 8 months ahead!

Tootle10 · 25/06/2015 08:16

Good luck today guy.

Welcome dobby, lovely to have you here.

Thanks all, think I'm going to hold off buying any maternity clothes for now and see how much of my existing wardrobe I can get away with for a while. It's so frustrating that there's very few places to actually go and try stuff on though, buying everything online seems like such a faff.

Barbiedoll79 · 25/06/2015 09:22

Thanks for all your help :-)

Amyyy really glad your scan went well :-) hopefully next time he will play ball- you'll see him again though which will be nice :-)

Tootle not too long till dating scan :-)

Welcome and congratulations dobby

I've been in my mat clothes on the bottom since 10 weeks tbh as can't fit in mine at all! Tips I have been wearing a couple of flows tops over and over but I am really up front Atm so they are showing too. Going into all mat clothes and embracing my massive bump from next week after scan all being well :-) and tbh I can't wait hiding it this long has been awful so I am rather excited to be able to wear mat clothes

Good luck guy and any other scans today x

Welcome dobby

TMI Well yesterday I was really wet every time I went to the toilet. I have a cold and couldn't determine if it smelt sweet or of wee so I'm going to see the mw in a bit and check it's not waters leaking. Never hoped I've 'just' wet myself before!

gennibugs · 25/06/2015 12:31

Welcome dobby.

20 week scan tomorrow.....nerves have well and truly kicked in now!

onefootinthebed · 25/06/2015 13:34

Hi all

Wellcome dobby.

I slept till 9am today, I only woke due too next doors shed being taken down.

Greedy when I was bad with my cold the other week, I had loads of this I posted on the other thread about it. I am and never will tell anyone in real life but I will wispher to you lovely lot about it. I had to use medium tenner ladies it was so bad every sneeze or sometimes when my nose leaked aswell. Awful it was mid wife talked about stress incoternince. Pelvic floors every day since.

Busy here today. Do you remember the girl in my office who I stuck up for. Well she has returned today I have disguised my bump as best as I can and she asked about mine and we had s good chat and she knows she isn't alone.

Amyyy27 · 25/06/2015 14:50

Good luck for tomorrow genni! :)

Thank you Barbie I hope he does too! Booked it for later in the day when he is more active so hopefully he will be nice and wriggly and she can see everything.

Greedy Hope everything is ok! I keep getting a feeling that I have wet myself (sorry!! Grin ) but just lots of discharge! (Sorry again!)

onefoot I bet she will be feeling very relieved to have you there to talk to, that's so nice.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 25/06/2015 14:52

Fantastic news guy :-) x

onefootinthebed · 25/06/2015 16:45

Fabulous news guy x

I have just received a sure start leaflet in the post and there are hypno birthing classes I think I might have a Google and do that instead of antenatal classes.

I am in a very reflective mood today and what with all these fantastic 20 week scans. Mine isn't for just under 3 weeks, I never thought when I first joined this group I would get this far.

dobbythedoggy · 25/06/2015 17:14

Well I think I need to unpack some of dd's old stuff and find myself a bib! Woke up in a puddle of my own dribble this morning. Actually quite relived, I'm feeling pregnant like I did when I was pregnant with dd, very diffrent from the uneasy feeling I had before I mc.

onefoot I did a hypno birth class when I was pregnant with dd and found it fantastic. At that point there weren't any nhs antinatle avaliable in our area and the hypno birth class was on the night it was most conviniet to get off work. I ened up with an elcs but the class was a wonderful experience and very relaxing.

Glad your scan went well guy

Good luck for your scan tomorrow genni

I did some research of dating last night, while waiting for dd to go to sleep. By first red blood of mc I think I'm 4 weeks 2 days, by ovulation date 4 weeks.

I'm bloated today, my jeans had no chance of doing up this morning! Luckly the warm weather is allowing for very forgiving floaty clothes. With dd I suddenly had to scrable to find sutiable maternity clothes at about 16 weeks for work as she decided to push her way to the front and lie transvers. Made the poppers on my tightish fitting uniform dress for work constantly pop.

Gr33dyeggs · 25/06/2015 17:23

I've got bv again :-( Starting antibiotics today. Scared obviously as this was a factor in my miscarriage. Baby sounded ok on dopplers and has been moving though.
Lovely scan news guy.

Amyyy27 · 25/06/2015 17:40

Hope you are ok greedy sorry to hear about the BV hope it clears soon x

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 25/06/2015 18:37

Gr33dy, it's being treated which is great news. Everything will be fine. It is really common in pregnancy and risky if not treated.

onefootinthebed · 25/06/2015 20:12

Dobby is it a class you go alone to or take your dh/partner too? its at a time I don't think we would be able to get a baby sitter xx

dobbythedoggy · 25/06/2015 20:27

The one I did was definantly for mums only! Lots of heavy breathing and funny positions. The lady teaching it would send an email each week sumerising what we had covered and 'instructions' for patners to support mums in labour. I'd definatly do it again even if I do end planning to have another c-section.

Although I think this time I'd also to a traditional antinatale as well. My midwives were fantastic, as were the surgons and anthatist when I had my c-section. But having hoped to have a natural birth and make the most of the hypno birthing techniques I'd been practising I felt very uninformed when it came to making decisions. If I'd had a natural birth I'd have been pretty clueless about any drugs I could have been offered. I do like to feel like I know what I'm doing though, the only thing I didn't want a blow by blow account of was the epidural!

onefootinthebed · 25/06/2015 21:14

Thanks dobby, I think I'm going to put my name down for classes. I didn't really have much choice for drugs I was to far for an epidural, then when I asked if there was anything else she said the one beginning with p, I said I will have that then. 30 mins later I had to ask for it again she said I was going to bring you some paracetamol instead, I was abit ????, as if paracetamol would touch the sides x

Bristolian1 · 26/06/2015 08:18

Congratulations and welcome Dobby

Great news about your scan Guy and good luck for today Genni so many scans!! Very exciting times.

Greedy I hope you're ok, and I'm glad your getting treatment.

It's my 16week MW appt today! Can't believe it, times gone so fast. Will she do Doppler? I'm not getting my hopes up....

Tootle10 · 26/06/2015 08:40

Good luck today genni. Thinking of you.

So pleased your scan went well guy.

greedy, sounds like you caught it early and are getting the right treatment, sure everything will be fine. Hope you feel better soon.

We've got local hypnobirthing classes run by the NHS midwives. The midwife told me about them at booking in - they encourage birthing partners to attend as they have a role to play. They recommend you start just after 24 weeks so you have time to practice the techniques and I think there's 3 or 4 sessions. They're in the evening as well, which is good with work - I'm going to sign up straight after my dating scan. The NHS midwives also do massage, aromatherapy, acupuncture and pregnancy yoga here!

We've also registered for NCT. The classes are in December and at the weekend. To be honest, we're going more for the social aspect / meeting people, as we haven't got any local friends with babies at a similar age.
