Welcome aboard ladies - bumps big and small :)

I came off Facebook after my MC as I found all the bump and baby updates too upsetting. However, I'm thinking about reactivating my account as I finish work this week and I'm worried about being cut off from society. It'd also be good to join the private Facebook group.

cherrylola · 01/06/2015 18:05

12 week scan on Thursday and I'm bricking it. Found out about my MMC at the last 12 week scan Confused don't think I'll get much sleep this week

Wow a busy few days!!!

Huge congratulations Sunbathing, I remember you were 16 weeks when I joined and really gave me hope - can't believe you have your baby now, hope you recover quickly...

Welcome to all the new folks, sounds like there's been a lot of heartbreak but hopefully we are getting our chance now.

Congrats on the good scan news Metal and Cloud and anyone else I've missed out on.

Boozle80 · 01/06/2015 20:17

Awesome scan news guys! Got my last scan on Thursday so fingers crossed the good news keeps coming!

MarysPrayer · 01/06/2015 20:33

Thank you for the warm welcome and thanks for adding me to the stats smallbear

It's great to hear all the good news from your scans. Good luck to those having one soon. We go on holiday when I will (hopefully) be 8 weeks so I think I will book a scan for when we return; I'll be 9+ weeks then. Reading on here it seems that 9 weeks is a good time for a reassurance scan. I'm feeling quite positive today - feeling queasy and tired, which can only be a good thing really. I'm officially further along now than when I miscarried too.

Phryn · 02/06/2015 09:59

Lovely to hear the positive scan news! Go little beans go!

I know I've said it on the June FB but I'm so pleased for you sunbathing - it feels like we've walked this ttc after mc journey together and seeing you with a lovely new squidge in your arms has been lovely. Even if you have leapfrogged me in the due date list Wink probably for the best as new carpets won't be down till this evening

cloudjumper · 02/06/2015 10:35

Metal Great news on the scan! One more big milestone ticked off. Are you feeling more reassured?

I would like to join the Fb group, at the same time I am a) scared that this will jinx everything (superstitious, moi?!) and b) I think I will really struggle with connecting people's real names with their MN nicknames. We started a Fb group from my MN May 2011 antenatal group, and it was sooo weird, trying to remember who was who, I always had to keep checking the list of MN nicknames vs real-life names. Very disconcerting Wink

Littlelady33 · 02/06/2015 11:01

Welcome newbies and hurrah for good scan news! Am also loving the FB thread and enjoying chance to see all of your lovely faces IRL (almost). Can I ask a question of all of those non FTMs? No complaint obviously about all the movement I'm getting from the little one but is it normal that all the kicking and squirming is quite, well, painful? Or at best very uncomfortable? It feels as though he's trying to kick his way out and I can't sleep through it. Like I say so long as that's normal, I really don't mind!

broodylicious · 02/06/2015 11:06

little, i asked this very question just a few days back on my AN fb group!! Yes it's perfectly normal for the movements to feel different right now. I don't remember it from last time but then I had too much fluid around dd so movements were way more cushioned then xx

Littlelady33 · 02/06/2015 11:22

Thanks broody! I'm happy that people sitting opposite me on the tube can see little knees or fists trying to make a bid for freedom and happy to get no sleep whatsoever so long as there's nothing particularly abnormal about it... And obviously as soon as he stops I panic!

Brummiegirl15 · 02/06/2015 11:29

Peeps talking about FB I defo need to join! And try not be scared about jinxing either Cloud

Told work today and they've stopped me going to Brussels in at end of June when I would've been 8.5 weeks and I've lost previously.

I'm relieved I have to admit. Am still going to Milan this weekend for work but have been told I can cancel if I want to

Littlelady33 · 02/06/2015 11:37

Brummie glad to hear you've been able to get out of travelling. I narrowly avoided a gruelling overseas trip at about 10wks before work knew and I was feeling horrendous.

Metalhead · 02/06/2015 11:41

cloud I really thought I would be, but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. I've been a bit achy down below since last night, which I'm sure is due to the sonographer's vigorous probing, but of course my mind is considering all kinds of worst case scenarios. I don't think I'll feel reassured until I can feel baby kicking, and then I'll probably start worrying about movements... mc really fucks with your head, doesn't it? Confused

gingerbreadmam · 02/06/2015 11:59

i was like you metal think i was reassured for about a week or two then back to worrying all the time.

i still knicker watch every single loo stop even now at 20 weeks! i am hoping tomoros scan will relax me.

the good think now metal is you will prbs start to see your tummy really change shape and for me thats where i took my reassurance from. as long as im expanding, somethings happening.

cloudjumper · 02/06/2015 13:41

Ugh, I jut spoke to the scan dept at my hospital to find out if they have set up the date for my scan yet - turns out they haven't received any paperwork from the midwife to notify them about my pregnancy! FFS!Angry

Now trying to reach the midwife, but of course they only ever have the answer machine on in their office Angry

Boozle80 · 02/06/2015 14:43

It's definitely normal - with DD I could make out footprints sometimes. It's quite bizarre! This one is also making a bid for freedom through my skin!
