Thanks barbie and sasha! My whole office is like this. And not one person asked after me after mmc and they all knew! It really is sad how thoughtless people can be!

Amyyy27 · 09/04/2015 08:19

Oh and good luck with your scan sasha! I hope it all goes perfectly :)

chasingtherainbow · 09/04/2015 08:25

I read an article once. . It was in woman's health recently I think. . It was basically this big boss lady saying how disgusted she was with herself that she'd treated mums unfairly in the workplace- assuming they were less commuted or flexible etc. Then she had her own and realised staying late doesn't benefit you etc.. and actually those part timers or mums were the ones working extra hard/coming in early to get home on time etc.

Often I think people (or men) with no first hand experience see it very black and white- a disruption to the workplace.

It's mega shitty but so so common. Big love xx

chasingtherainbow · 09/04/2015 08:25

Committed not commuted

Amyyy27 · 09/04/2015 10:07

Thanks chasing!

I have just had a phonecall with start dates for my new job... one date i would have to ask for the week after if possible as it wouldnt cover my 4 weeks notice period and also when we are due our scan! The next date is not until june and i would be 17 weeks pg... thats a bit far on to start a new job isnt it!!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 09/04/2015 10:19

Amyyy27 · 09/04/2015 10:21

No... Blush everyone keeps telling me not to say anything until i start working there. Im not so sure but i am worried that my job will suddenly become unavailable!

onefootinthebed · 09/04/2015 10:27

Hi guys

What a busy few days I have had. I am pleased because it has taken my mind of my mega sore boobs and the developing nausea in the evenings which is just thankfully nausea. I shouldn't complain seeing what Amyy is going through. I work with the public and my smell has gotten even worse I swear I can smell what people had for tea last night, there is a subway shop not far away and I can smell the bread baking.

Keys I'm pleased everything is good for you. Amyy the worse thing about being off work is day time TV. Hope you have some box sets.

I posted along rambling post on Wednesday morning at 2am, I was in a&e with my husband (he is fine, paramedics just wanted to be 100# certain).

As we were waiting over an hour for him to be admitted.we were by the resusatation cubicle I was in on my last miscarriage which was really traumatic,I swear to god I could feel the pain i was in. It made me realise how desparte I am for this little bean to stick.

But today I am pregnant.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 09/04/2015 10:33

Amyy as long as you've had a firm offer, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. When I was thinking of taking a new job, I decided I would tell them before starting. My reasoning was if they had a problem with it, they weren't the kind of people I wanted to work for anyway. I wouldn't have wanted to start without telling them first.
That's just me though- you are under no obligation to tell them until 15 weeks before your due date.

Evening all!
Such good news keys are you on antibiotics then?

I've had a lovely day out at a National Trust park with school friends and our kiddies. One had a new baby and I was thinking how nice it would be to have another - 6 would be a lovely number of similar ages - 2 at 6/7, 2 at 3, and then 2 newbies please stick.
Those with older children, when will you tell them?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 09/04/2015 17:35

Think we'll explain to dd after 12 week scan and when I start getting a bump. She's only 2.5 but obviously at that age they do have a very strong understanding of the world.

Gr33dyeggs · 09/04/2015 17:47

I'm thinking then too, and we can show him the pic. I'm sure he knows though. He keeps cuddling my tummy and this morning said my boobies looked like they have milk in Shock.

chasingtherainbow · 09/04/2015 18:14

Dd broke her heart when I told her the baby wasn't coming to live with us and wasn't in my tummy any more. I felt so awful for having her know with the last pregnancy. We'd done the test and bounced around excitedly in front of her mindlessly. She then told everyone at preschool.

This time we decided not to tell her until the 12 week scan. But she'd asked me straight out several times and I'd been avoiding answering. . So we told her after the scan we had. . She gave a totally unenthusiastic response. . I think she just felt we were telling her what she already knew. She still looks for mc baby whenever the stars are out and talks about our star. This week she's started talking about the baby in my tummy. . Though she's decided it has to be a girl. .

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 09/04/2015 18:45

We didn't think dd knew last pregnancy. We didn't tell her about it. She became very clingy with me during the mc as I was obv a bit vulnerable. Then she went into nursery and told a member of staff 'Mummy's got a poorly tummy. There's no baby in mummy's tummy.' So she knew. Totally failed to protect her. She'd just turned two. They understand so much more than we give them credit for.

Yes on antibiotics Hun. My symptoms this time round are completely different from my DD's. Don't really have sore boobies or sickness but I do feel sick more of an evening and not strong sense of smell with my first I could smell someone's garlic in their sandwiches on the train to work was awful. Now have headaches and extreme tiredness very snappy be really weird if I get a DS this time round. Fingers crossed all stays good.

Amyyy27 I would of been fuming poor you. Don't take it to heart Hun u need to rest for one of the most important additions to your life sod the boss what a horrible person. Chin up Hun.

I won't tell DD until my 13 week scan she kinda knows by OH talking in front of her in code as you say they know more than we think.

Xxx

Hi everyone!

I've been (and still am) in the middle of a horribly busy time at work and have loads to catch up on - before I read back properly:

Congratulations to all with good scan news, and welcome to the newbies, who aren't new at all as I'm so behind!

I've got a scan on Monday. After I had spotting I went to the epu and had one at 5+3 which showed the little blob all looking fine, and they asked me to come back this Monday to check for a heartbeat. So fingers crossed it's good news.

I've found that the sickness is kept at bay for me by feeling a bit full, but loads of water is better at this than food, so currently chugging litres of the stuff. Also means I am taking trips to the loo every 5 min it feels like, which isn't as bad as you'd think as the office is so stressful it's good to escape!

Hope you've all got good weekend plans. I will be sleeping in and then tackling my neglected flat and trying to not do any work.

chasingtherainbow · 10/04/2015 14:26

My nausea is constant and strong atm which is hard and I'm just utterly exhausted. November feels so so far away.

And it's too fucking hot. Moan moan moan.

GirlSailor · 10/04/2015 14:32

I have heard about the weather but my office seems to be untouched by signs of it. I want to go outside!

Hi all.
Sorry you're so poorly chasing. amyyy how are you getting on? My nausea is manageable but that's largely coz I'm snacking to keep it at bay. Next week at work won't be so easy!
We've had a few trips to parks and picnics in the nice weather.

I'm still tired - slept in til 8 but considering another nap now!
