I think I've got natural wolf smell and it ramps up a gear with preg! guy did they tell you anything to expect with symptoms when it's twins?

chasing my boobs are sore now too which I'm glad about.

I'm feeling more positive today, got a lovely dark line on a cheapie, sore boobs and I'm going to try to stop sticking my fingers in my foof!

Was any body offered an early scan from their midwife/epu? Or have you all gone private?

Popping on to join the new thread, hope you all had a nice Easter.
I've had to work last minute which I was bit cross about as I was desperate for a rest and a break and it was sprung on me last minute on Thursday. Definitely strengthened my resolve that if all is well and things progress I will NOT be going back to this job post mat leave!!

epskie my GP referred me for an early scan at the EPU because this was my first cycle post MC and they werent sure of my dates. I'd also had some spotting. Might be worth asking but she did say to me that if I had just wanted one for reassurance because of the MC I would have been unlikely to get one. I think it depends where you are and your circumstances. Otherwise I would have got a private one for sure.

Pink again this morning. Feels completely hopeless. Let's face it I have had hardly any symptoms however much I kid myself it doesn't matter. Just beyond depressed.

I got a nhs epu scan because my last was an ectopic and my chances of another are 1 in 10 so they scan you pretty quickly after one. I think you get offered one if you have a history of reoccurring mc... I think if you've got a sympathetic gp and say your anxiety is awful etc you might wangle a referral. Sometimes it can be hard though. Epu prefer to scan you from around 6 weeks. Private most refuse till 8 weeks in my experience!

I think I'm going to have a private scan at 16 weeks and closer to 30.

I think I might just last out till 12 now. Possibly. Got the midwife Tuesday. This feels huge as I didn't get this far before.

Is anyone discussing whether they'll find out the sex at 20 weeks. We didn't with dd.. dh seems to be more open to it this time but I think a surprise again is what I want. Though dd is saying its most definitely and completely and has to be a girl... If we don't find out and she gets a brother she'll just flow with it right? She will be 4 when pumpkin arrives.

Oh MsJ I'm sorry. It's not hopeless. Why don't you all doctor to refer you for another scan? My gp said you don't get one by default just for having a previous mc, but they will give you one if you bleed. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

We did find out sex with dd and I really liked knowing. We like referring to her as 'her' rather than it. We named her and referred to her by name too. It felt like she had an identity. Going to find out this time too. Should be plenty of chances because I'll have a scan every 4 weeks after 20 weeks.

chasing I was reading another thread (which actually got quite nasty so I didn't partake) and somebody said on there that it was a lovely moment when her dh told her what they had - I love the idea of that! I've got two boys, 14 and 9, I think they'll both want a brother. I think I'd quite like a girl although it'd take some getting used to as I've had 14 years of star wars, football, xbox, farting etc.

Epskie I can couch that girls are even worse farters! My dd is a real trumpet bum.

DH told me what we'd had and I have to admit to thinking that moment was just amazing. I think because it's our last too I just really want to have that again? Though dd's connection with the baby pre birth feels important too which I think is why dh is open to it.. surprising really as it was him who had to convince me not to last time!

Oh mrsj you must be so worried. I would call your doctor today/tomorrow and see if you can be referred to EPU again. Or if EPU have your details perhaps give them a call. Definitely see if you can get another scan.

I don't think we'll be finding out. I can't really decide, I veer from wanting to know very strongly, to not wanting to know. DH really wants it to be a surprise, after all we've been through to get here, he feels it would be the best surprise ever. So I think we'll go with not knowing! though I may change my mind later lol

MsJ sending lots of baby dust your way and crossing my fingers for you, try not to go solely on symptoms though as I am having twins this time but my symptoms keep coming and going (up to 5 days with no symptom at one point)

Re epau I was referred as had pain on right side (have had a cyst every time I've conceived which this turned out to be) I also fell on the back of my mc and had some spotting so they sent me for a scan when they thought we would be approx 6 weeks (which they think the twins measured) you could try the anxiety chat with gp but they said to me because of the above reasons they will refer but that it is 100% not to do with the anxiety of the situation best luck x

North I can't imagine being that far along! Seems a lifetime away :-)

I'm not even 8 weeks till tomorrow although dreading tomorrow as that's where it all went wrong with peanut (mc) x

barbie will be thinking of you tomorrow. I found it quite a tough day to get through.

We are going to find out. May even book a scan at 16 weeks with babybond again to check everythings ok and see if they can tell then. Its very much down to each individual why they would or wouldn't find out i dont believe its better to find out/not find out. Im just impatient

mrsj i hope everything is ok. is it around what would have been your time of the month? just over 3 weeks ago i had a propa bleed like a nosebleed with a clot the size of a 10p piece. 3 days later acan showed a perfectly healthy baby. i know its hard but i would try and get to epu and find out whats going on. thinking of u.

i am 12wks and have my dating scan tomo and i am pretty nervous even after the good scan 3 weeks ago. is it always like this after an mc? i am hoping if everything is well tomo i will relax but i jus dont know

Can't wait to see your scan gingerbread. I remember your bleed, I was so worried for you. I hope tomorrow is lovely... I think you are our first 12 weeker!

msJ I am getting a scan tomorrow at epu through gp. Tbh I think he was getting sick of me ringing with my concerns. Especially with the cramping. I was there when he arranged it and he said I'd been spotting too. Very naughty coz I haven't and then worried he was tempting fate.

Can you help with dates? If lmp was jan 28, that's counted as week 1 isn't it? So I'm nearly 11? I don't want to do a pregnancy calculator.

Glad you're doing well ginger. Hopefully you'll relax once you've had your scan tomorrow. I've got another 5 weeks until my scan. I had to rebook it for 13 weeks because it has to be an extra long one so they can see everything on both babies. Assuming there are still two heartbeats, I don't think I'll relax this whole pregnancy because twin pregnancies are quite high risk anyway- less than half make it to 37 weeks.
Just have to keep my fingers crossed. Keeping fingers crossed for you tomorrow too.

Guy hope the 50% rate is wrong. I asked the people at our last scan about chances of losing a twin and they said 36% are born before 37 weeks but that of those they have a 90% survival rate so hopefully the lady i spoke to is right otherwise we are both gonna be on tenterhooks all pregnancy (and as this is prob my last Id like to enjoy it- haha not Sounding likely)

Someone close to me had her twins at 26 weeks last year and while it's been a very rough ride, they are both doing amazing. Most come around 35 from my training iir xx

Oh I didn't mean they don't make it at all barbie- just a high risk of preterm labour which obviously isn't ideal. Sorry if I made you panic.

wow guy twins? how exciting! im sure everything will go fine and after your scan.hopefully will feel a bit more reassured.

for those approaching the time where it went wrong last time, it is a good milestone to get passed and what i kept telling myself was even if something bad were to happen, the likelihood of any similarities is probs quite small so not worth panicking about.

i also kept checking the mc calculator to see what risk there was at each date. after 9weeks things get really low risk, my mw confirmed this at my scare scan. i just hope shes right leading up to tomos!

Got a BBP a week ago I think I am around 6 weeks 5 days. Going for a scan tomorrow as I have had two miscarriages and two beautiful girls. I have symptoms sore boobies, feel sick and horrible taste in my mouth not to mention the extreme tiredness.

Be lovely to come on the journey with you all.

I would love to have a natural birth Ive had 2 c sections. Have not been to doctors yet so midwives not been informed just been em doc as was easter weekend and booked me for a scan tomorrow due to my history of premature births.
