Maybe happy! I'll try and wait til I see my midwife next. Otherwise I'll go and nag the doctor again.

Lol Happy you're doing better than me - I still haven't dared at 26 weeks. I really need to get something though it this child will be naked for the first week of its life... I was also thinking perhaps today is the day...

happygojo · 28/03/2015 08:50

Haha bozzle at the end of the day, with next day delivery and 24 hour supermarkets, I am sure your child won't be naked, I just want to let myself feel the excitement that seems to come so easily to others. I swear, some people have the pram and 'snuzpod' on order before the line had chance to form on their FRER.... That isn't meant as a bitchy comment as I am more jealous than anything. I am planning on keeping it simple and minimal until bubs is here..... My mum on the other hand is so convinced I am having a girl that she has bought LOADS! She started buying when I was 8 weeks gone. She knew about the MC too but she said she 'had a feeling'

Littlelady33 · 28/03/2015 08:57

Happy, Boozle I'm 23wks today and haven't bought a thing. Have to head into central London today so may pick something up - still feels scary somehow!

Boozle80 · 28/03/2015 08:58

I love the sound of your mum! We also need to try and spread the cost out as much as we can - so we should really get something! I know what you mean - it feels like something a 'normal' pregnant person does!

Littlelady33 · 28/03/2015 09:03

Boozle it's surely time - if you're ready! My mum has been knitting for weeks, it's adorable

I think we're going to have to order our pram soon too as they need loads of time to get the colour we want. Scary!
15 weeks today, just had my letter about downs. It's 1 in 4000 chance, glad it's no increased risk. I did say to dh that it seems a bit low though.
I worry about everything.

Treacle, those results are excellent. I had awful pelvic pain when I was pregnant with DS (I have hypermobility anyway, so combine that with pregnancy hormones and my joints move far more than they should) and physio then was useless, apart from being given a pelvic support belt which helped. I'd recommend trying one if you can get your hands on one.

I'm trying caffeine again today to see if I can get things moving. It usualy works. I still can't believe all those prunes did nothing!

I bought a small soft rabbit toy suitable for newborns after I had my first scan. I'm not letting myself buy anything else until after my 12 week scan, but I'm setting aside money each week to spread the cost of everything for when I am ready to start buying things. Neither me or DH can drive, so the pram is the most important thing for us. It has to be right.

I hadn't thought about it like that. My heads all over the shop today.
I'll see if the doctor will refer me to the physio, thanks all :)

We made it into the baby shop and then decided it was far too soon and did a runner - what complete cowards are we?!

Thepurplegiraffe · 28/03/2015 16:43

Treacle I got that result with dd1 and was very happy with it. I have 1 in a 1000 this time which is a little less reassuring but I am trying not to worry about it. It's still low risk.

25 weeks today and we finally bought a baby gro to take baby home from the hospital. We did also spend some time looking at double buggies as dd will be 21 months. We are quite taken with the vista as the 15 version turns into a double but we can put it back to single later. It's expensive though.

Treaclepie19 · 28/03/2015 17:31

You're right, I think I've just lost the plot.
1 in 1000 is still a small risk, if it were anything else we would think it's tiny.

To be honest there was no point us having the test anyway as we weren't planning on following it up if it was a high risk.

I will be absolutely thrilled with a 1/1000 risk if I'm lucky enough to get that. Having been 1/15 and then being that one and living through all the consequences, pretty much anything in the high hundreds will be something to celebrate.

Treaclepie19 · 28/03/2015 20:28

Sorry if I seemed insensitive, I didn't mean to upset anyone.

OP posts:
Boozle80 · 29/03/2015 13:28

I still haven't looked at prams Treacle I really am such a coward! I have thought about a wrap thing though as an interim. 15 weeks is brilliant, you're right though, I think I'm going to carry on panicing until is baby is well and truly here and safe!

FlorenceandZebedee · 29/03/2015 14:53

I didn't buy a thing until after 28 weeks and then only an outfit. Most bits were bought after 33 weeks and that was because I thought the babe would be early like DS. However, still preg (40+4) with no signs of things changing so could have waited longer. Most things can be delivered pretty quickly so don't worry about buying too soon. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend xx

CommanderShepard · 29/03/2015 16:01

Mslad - 3.5kg is more like 7lbs 12oz (it was DD's birth weight). Don't worry too much though - the estimates are notoriously inaccurate. I was told to expect a nine pounder...!

Treaclepie19 · 29/03/2015 16:11

It's so understandable boozle, i feel it's all a bit empty.
I'm organising things but even today I was in tears saying I cant see things going well...
It's almost like im doing it to show people I'm normal and excited :p

I think we're going to have another scan in a couple of weeks. I'll lose my mind by the time I get to my nhs scan!

StickChildNumberTwo · 29/03/2015 18:40

Survived the in-laws but now just want to sleep.

I'm trying to remember how early I started buying things first time round - I suspect I was at least 20 weeks before we started looking at prams and things. I remember not wanting to be spotted by anyone I knew looking at maternity clothes before we went public.

This or any future child will be a neglected second one mainly in hand me downs I think! Can't even begin to think about what we might possibly need to buy for a long while yet.

Littlelady33 · 30/03/2015 09:37

I've decided to give some baby shopping a go this Easter weekend! Not lots of gear but maybe the odd babygro. And I'd also like to know what a pram really costs (the bugaboo looks fabulous but god it's expensive!). After praying for movement to start turns out that's a poison chalice - because now I can worry when it stops for a while! At this stage - 23wks - it's too early for kick counting surely?

happygojo · 30/03/2015 09:58

little my MW said that you shouldn't monitor kicks too closely until 28 weeks. Up until then bubs can hide or Face the wrong way. Also remember that bubs is sleeping a lot. I say this but I must admit to having a cold drink if I haven't felt them for a while
