Hopefully you won't be there too much longer!

I found out the next day (which was a Friday) because I ended up in maternity triage for an unrelated reason but I didn't get the official call from the diabetes team until the Monday. I doubt they'd have the results the same afternoon but maybe.

Actually I worked in the waiting room in between tests with aforementioned wifi and went into the office after stuffing my (last ever, as it turns out) flapjack into my mouth the moment the final needle came out. But fair enough to take the day off if you prefer!

Treaclepie19 · 26/03/2015 17:00

I'm in absolute agony again :(
Not sure whether it's wind or what. Very low down, pulling and sharp pain whenever I move or sit on the toilet.
I've been for a 3 mile walk (before the pain got so bad) to try and relieve it if it was wind. As well as gaviscon, rocking, mint, peppermint tea.
I'll go to the doctor tomorrow but I keep worrying it's something wrong with baby :(

Hope your scan goes well Tori :)

OP posts:
StickChildNumberTwo · 26/03/2015 17:46

Hope all's well Treacle - it probably is wind or something else digestion related, but that doesn't stop you worrying. Hope the doctor will be reassuring, and the pain will go ASAP.

How was the scan Tori? These babies just like to worry us I reckon.

I've had an illogically mental day today. Have been possibly imagining spots of blood (minuscule and only two or three if they're there at all) and have a whole load of weird cramps and pains which are probably stretching and all that, but well, you know. I seem to flit between days of thinking it all might actually go OK and days of expecting to see blood every time I go to the loo - this has been one of the latter.

I had to go to the out of hours doctors as I couldn't walk.
I feel very silly now though because the doctor thinks it's just ligament pain...

OP posts:
SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 26/03/2015 22:28

Don't feel silly, Treacle, you did the right thing. Do you feel more reassured now?

I think I'm in for a world of unpleasantness tomorrow. I bought a bag of prunes from Aldi and I've been mindlessly snacking on them all day. I've just realised I've finished the bag - 250g! Tell me the truth, I'm going to be stuck on the loo all day tomorrow, aren't I? Blush

Treaclepie19 · 26/03/2015 23:02

I do, thank you :)
I just can't believe how much pain I'm in.
I'm fine sitting still but as soon as I move I have to hobble.

At least you enjoyed your prunes... you may be close t the toilet tomorrow though :p

happygojo · 27/03/2015 06:52

somesort if you are on the loo all day today I will be really jealous (NEVER thought I would say THAT!) things are pretty slow here. I have had to resort to the movicol Confused but it isn't shifting and I can't get in at the doctors for 3 weeks!

longestlurkerever · 27/03/2015 08:51

Ligament pain can be really painful treacle - I ended up in maternity triage with it with dd, thinking it could be early labour pain. Hope it eases soon.

StickChildNumberTwo · 27/03/2015 09:01

We're off to the inlaws for the weekend, which will be fine (plans include taking them out for a meal with me driving!) but I am so paranoid that I'm going to start bleeding while we're there. It's the absolute last place I would want to be in something goes wrong. And I know there's no reason to think it will, but I can't shake the worry.

Mslad · 27/03/2015 10:29

Happy I find movicol with a morning coffee really 'does the business' - it was recommended by my mw. I asked about the caffeine in a daily coffee (as up to that point I hadn't had any coffee at all), and she didn't seem concerned in the slightest, she said it would be no problem. A morning coffee is now bliss. somesort I would also be jealous of a day on the loo...Smile

treacle hope your pain is easing a little, and stick I'm sure you will be fine this weekend. You're right, you have no reason to think anything will go wrong.

Tori I also had a scan yesterday. baby looks fine, we even saw her in 3D for a few minutes, and sh'e also a little fatty! I'm a bit freaked out at how big she could get Hmm

We're in the process of moving house this week- fun!! Confused

happygojo · 27/03/2015 10:52

I am so glad you are on movicol too. I have loads left over from pre-preg and my scientific mind knows it is fine because it doesn't actually leave the digestive system in any meaningful amount, but I know it isn't first port of call for preg ladies

I have been having it with a glass of prune juice (so also drinking a pint of fluid before breakfast) I then have muesli, then fruit for elevenses (pear, apple maybe a plum). I only eat brown bread, I have the odd coffee, I have veg with every dinner. I drink plenty. But nope.... Still super slow!

I feel like with my diet/medication mix I should be... Ahem... Going through the eye of a needle!

Thank you all, the pain is better than yesterday thank goodness.
I do think I may have piles though Blush

I didn't know about movicol either, my doctor would only give me lactulose or fybogel. I've found fybogel the better of the two.

I also have a lot of anxiety about a giant baby!! I'm 32 weeks, She measured over 3.5kilos (over 5 pounds I think) and the average is 2.5 kilo. She didn't say what percentile that was, I'm sure my mw will tell me next week. At my 28 week scan she was measuring at 85 percentile and the mw said she may induce me at 40 weeks. I have one more scan at 36 weeks so we'll see how things are then. They didn't give me an estimated weight. The sonographer didn't seem concerned in the slightest though. She said that the head was average, but long legs and slightly bigger stomach are whats making her bigger.

I suppose a bigger baby is better than a a very slow growth?

happy it sounds like you have the perfect diet! how annoying that it's not doing what it should! The only time mine works perfectly is when I'm waiting for a scan! extreme constipation is no match for my pre-scan anxieties!!!

happygojo · 27/03/2015 11:49

I have chronic constipation anyway that they have never found the cause for. The Gastro consultant just told me that I have a slow transit and that's it (no tests or examination) The gynae thought it was caused by endometriosis. I gave up trying to get it sorted before pg as it took me so long to get as far as I did. It's just like my intestines don't take up enough water if that makes sense

Thank you x
It's still bad today but I am able to walk. Im fed up of bothering the doctors but I feel so in pain. I've got a pushing like i need to wee quite a lot (guess that's baby?), pain in my bottom and back and this horrible sharp ligament pain in my stomach.
I don't mind dealing with it if it's all normal, it's just hard to get an answer!

OP posts:
SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 27/03/2015 22:55

I haven't been all day. An entire bag of prunes and NOTHING.

'Prunes make you poo' is getting mentally filed away with other gems like 'Eating your crusts makes your hair curly' and 'Cutting your hair makes i grow faster.' NONE OF THOSE THINGS ARE TRUE.

happygojo · 28/03/2015 07:53

treacle could it be time for a physio referral? To me (no medical qualifications though Smile) it sounds like you might have a mix of normal digestive and ligament issues plus maybe something like pelvic pain/SPD or whatever?

somesort OMG! Maybe today is the day? I am still waiting for the movicol to kick in properly. I had 2 doses yesterday plus a 4 mile walk and I thought things were on the move but then nothing.....

We are out and about today POSSIBLY to look at baby stuff..... I made myself buy a vest and some socks earlier in the week. Seems so scary and unreal! I am 20+5 now and we need to think about buying stuff to spread it out financially but I am still really scared!
