Another thread for the lovely ladies who are pregnant after miscarriage :)

Yeah I've been the same.
I think I'm going to just have it. It's a tiny bit of coke - only 150ml.

Thanks for the new thread treacle and stats update smallbear.4 babies due this week! Wave to Charlie and hurray for a good scan happy and 16w appointment llama.

Good luck for tomorrow cava. Scanxiety is par for the course I think.

I don't really drink coke and am now off sugar but have been drinking one strong coffee per day and have been assured it's fine so enjoy your little cans treacle (bah I am craving treacle pie now and can't have it).

I would leave dd behind if you can commander. 20 week scan is actually quite long and it's always a pain trying to keep toddlers still in hospitals. Dd was unimpressed with the photo too!

Boozle80 · 23/03/2015 19:46

I brought my mum and dd to sit outside the scan and entertain each other and then, when I knew all was well, dd came in for a quick peek - although she was far more interested in colouring her picture and asked to leave almost instantly! In hindsight it wasn't worth taking her as she really wasn't bothered and I was all stressed incase something went wrong.
Thanks for the new thread :).

broodylicious · 23/03/2015 19:55

treacle, you'd be fine with those little cans. I absolutely adore coke normally but every time I've had it since being pregnant, I've rather spectacularly thrown it up a short while after - a few times, so violently, it came through my nose! Bleurgh. I'm now having one very milky instant coffee a day but it's taken a long time to feel as though I wanted it again. My tassimo machine will think it's been made redundant Wink

I had one of my tiny cans of coke... oh my gosh... bad idea. It was heaven.

Funny because normally I'm not fussed but I've really been craving it. I could drink a whole 2 litre bottle right now.

Back to iced water I go :(

Since about 20 weeks (before then I couldn't stomach the idea) I've been having 1-2 lattes a day, normally half-caf for the second one. I think a little coke is fine. Just been on hols and had FAR too many virgin frozen daiquiris and am feeling completely sugared out at the moment. I feel like I need to cut right back but it's SO hard once you're used to all that sugar. I should have given it up for lent!

Littlelady33 · 24/03/2015 14:20

I'd given up coffee completely then had one cappuccino on a weekend away this month - it was amazing.
I'm going to treat myself to the odd one. Not limiting so much for pregnancy to that small an amount but I'd like to be less addicted than I used to be! I'd second the recommendation to read Emily oster's book - it can put your mind at rest about so many things.

Thepurplegiraffe · 24/03/2015 14:53

I am drinking a lot of coke (had one for lunch) because some of the time it is the only way I can get my lunch down. I'm not even thinking about the caffeine intake.

happygojo · 24/03/2015 15:48

I hate full fat coke.... normally. Now it is the only thing that seems to ward off a weekend migraine. I worry about the sugar more than the caffeine but I figure a can or 2 at a weekend will be ok, and I rarely have a full can

thesmallbear · 24/03/2015 16:16

Before I was pregnant I drank about 5 cups of tea a day, but I completley went off it in the first trimester. Now I'm having a cup a day (occasionally two) and the odd bit of chocolate

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 24/03/2015 16:25

I'm still having coke and I know what the caffeine guidelines are, but I still limit it to one can or one coffee per day. I'd say I have one or the other about twice a week. I save them, er, for when I need to get things moving, toilet-wise. Blush

I thought the other thread had gone unusually quiet. Took me a while to realise. Grin

thesmallbear · 24/03/2015 16:32

It's Ilovechops due date today and Littlemissy12345 and FloreneceandZebede's due dates tomorrow. Any updates guys?

CommanderShepard · 24/03/2015 17:08

MIL is having DD. Rather not piss off the sonographers although there were loads of kids milling about when I was waiting for my 12 week scan.

Had a bit of hormonal rage today: announced very casually that we are expecting a new one, and like with DD it's been rough, and among the well wishes has been a slew of "aaah, the first trimester will be over soon before you know it, try xyz" or "ooh just wait until the birth, then you'll know about it!" - er, I have done this before; DD wasn't delivered by the frigging stork! Even family seem to have forgotten that this isn't the first time. And as for waiting til the birth... mmm yes, the induction for pre-eclampsia and emcs leading to birth trauma. (I'm going to spare you the full story). As if I've forgotten about that. FFS. I know they mean well but pfffffff.

Also booked on to a hypnobirthing course in June; if nothing else I think the techniques will be really useful even if I don't get a VBAC. The book they've sent me seems really good so far and isn't judgy about c sections, which is something that always raises my hackles.

And I have a research scan next week, yay! In theory I could find out the sex... DH has given me permission and to be honest I'm so convinced this is a girl if it's a boy the more time I have to get my head round it the better Grin

broodylicious · 24/03/2015 19:58

Eurgh, I hate those doom merchants, commander! Banging on about birth, no sleep, black/projectile poo or vom etc - drives me mad! I always put it down to jealousy. Pure and simple. I've had a few "it's hard work with two", "back to no sleep again..." (Er, well, seeing as dd is going to be three on Thursday and she still hasn't slept through the night, I hardly think we've had it easy?!)

littlemissy12345 · 25/03/2015 04:53

Hi, I've being reading all messages but not posted for ages. It's my due date today and I've been having lots of irregular contractions since last night. Please let it be the start of something!

Good luck everyone else x

FlorenceandZebedee · 25/03/2015 06:36

Well due date here too and no signs despite baby measuring 2 weeks ahead- aaah!! Was fooled by DS being 2 weeks early and now the wait is driving me mad. Had a sweep yesterday ( oh the joys of bring preg) and all high and thick so not expecting much there. Still, have made it to 40 weeks- how did that happen? And if all else fails booked for induction on Easter Sunday. Good luck little hope we have news soon Smile Love to everyone else xx

Boozle80 · 25/03/2015 06:59

Hurray for more thread babies. I would suggest a quicky to get things moving but if you're anything like me you never want to have sex again!

FlorenceandZebedee · 25/03/2015 07:43

I may have to go there boozle but seeing as I can no longer find a comfortable position to sit/lie/ stand in and get breathless walking up stairs I'm not relishing it!!
