What a rubbish experience pizza but I'm glad everything is ok now. Stupid stupid sonographer. Did they give you anything for the constipation?

Have been reading all week. Been very up and down. Sod's law after I posted on here I started spotting which lasted a couple of days. Fluctuating crazily between I'm carrying a dead thing and hoping everything is ok which generally follows my nausea coming and going. Private scan booked next Wednesday.

Hope you all have good BH weekends

I'm the same Sunbathing. I said to the midwife at my last appointment, that the babies pattern is that she has no pattern!

thesmallbear · 01/05/2015 20:02

We just emptied the loft (getting sorted for moving house in a couple of months) which means all the baby stuff, maternity clothes etc are down. Feels way too much like tempting fate, despite the fact that it would need doing regardless of whether I was pregnant or not. But the last time the maternity clothes came down I miscarried a week or so later.

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2015 22:12

I agree, that is absolutely awful pizza!
So glad all is well though.

I hate moaning but I feel crap again tonight. Sharp pain all around my stomach and back. Not too bad if I sit still, horrendous otherwise.
Seems to be in a pattern. I think i have a uti then have antibiotics, the pain gets worse, i go back and they give me more antibiotics (that I probably don't need) and then the pain goes as it's probably just a growth spurt for baby.
I just never know what to do for the best. I'm fed up of taking antibiotics I probably don't need. Trying Paracetamol tonight and rest.

Don't they test your urine treacle? You normally have to fight to get antibiotics. I hope the paracetamol helps. Maybe try a hot water bottle if its in the back?

Nope this time they didn't test it (as it was as the surgery was closing) they want me to take the antibiotics then drop off a sample to be tested next week.
It's ridiculous, they just seem to hear "I have symptoms of a water infection" and give me antibiotics just in case.
If it's still bad next week I'll go back and demand some answers.
I'm pretty sure from last time though that it's just ligaments and baby on my bladder. I wish they'd just say that though rather than keep making me wonder if it's an infection.

In the sonographers defence he clearly only had instructions to check my appendix, then I went in crying my eyes out worried about the baby, but really he shouldn't have said anything at all as it's supposed to be the consultant who gives you the results of your scan?

I think I will write a letter of complaint as it was just so insensitive, I honestly thought id miscarried again. But thankfully everything is fine and my OH is in baby gaga mode now which he never has been before, I'm finally letting myself get a little excited too.

treacle regardless of if the surgery was closing surely it only takes a few mins to do a urine test? Incredibly frustrating that they just send you on your way with anti biotics :( Have they helped at all?

Quick update - I started spotting last night, still going this morning Sad Dull lower back ache, too. It's all too familiar... Will see how the day goes, then call the EPU - doubtful that anything they will do will reassure me. I spotted at 6-7 weeks last time, all look good, and I still lost the baby at 17 weeks.
Will be 6 weeks on Monday.

Treaclepie19 · 02/05/2015 14:28

Well they tested the first few times, it always shows up as a slight infection but then unconfirmed when the hospital test so they treat it just in case.

I get a lot of uti's but this comes and goes so I can't really accept it's definitely a uti.
I'm going to take in a sample Tuesday to be sent off and if that comes back as needing antibiotics I'll go and have a rant at a doctor.

Today it seems much more like ligament pain, I've not been rushing to the toilet every few minutes.

Fingers crossed for you cloud, definitely ring the epu even if it's just for short term reassurance x

Hi, I've just come on to have a tiny moan. I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm feeling very positive and I know that it will only be a short time before I'm pregnant again.
Just wandering how everyone else was as they came up to their EDD of MC.
I would have been due (first MC) on 5th May. For this reason, I've been trying to ignore most of the news about the Duchess of Cambridge. Even though I MC again a couple of weeks ago, I'm in a good place and genuinely happy for people celebrating baby news. It's just that when I heard on the radio. That she'd gone in to labour, my stomach flipped over. Then when I heard that she'd had a baby girl, I got goose bumps. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about the coming week.
Did anyone have any particular ways of coping?
cloud I really hope that it's good news, have you spoken to your mw?
Pizza I'm so please that all is fine, but what a traumatic experience for you.

Yay, my laptop is up and running. At least for now anyway.

cloudjumper - I'm sorry to hear you're going through such a worrying time. Lots of us on here have had spotting and things have turned out ok, so here's hoping the same for you Flowers

fififolle - I bought a really nice candle from the White Company and lit it on the EDD of the baby I MC'd. I think it's natural to want to mark the loss. My advice is don't bottle it up. Mark it in the way that is most meaningful for you and let yourself cry.

Does anyone know when they start talking to you about your birth plan? I'm doing the NCT antennal course (starting in a couple of weeks) and not the NHS session. I know the NHS session includes a tour of the hospital. Do you reckon I can just ring up to get a tour separately? My due date is exactly two months today. It doesn't seem that far away anymore. I feel like I need to start getting my shit together!

It's creeping so much closer isn't it small? Frightening really! Re birth plan - don't have one. List your preferences, yes (water if a pool is available, no pain relief, delayed cord clamping, dad to announce sex of baby for example) but IMO having a plan as such can cause aggro and unnecessary stress if you don't get the exact birth you hope for. Just my opinion though. I'm normally a "need to be in control" person but childbirth, I just realise baby calls the shots!

thesmallbear · 02/05/2015 18:04

Thanks Tori. I'm 31 weeks, so I guess they haven't forgotten to discuss with me. I just need to get on the antenatal course and be a bit more patient.

I've been reading about the options and I think I'd like to try for an active birth. When I had the contraction strength pains after the medical management for the MC, I felt that I needed to pace about quite a lot, so would like to try and stay mobile. I'd quite like one of those birth balls. Do the hospital provide them, or do I have to take my own in?

I'm an utter wimp though, so I want to be able to get an epidural or other forms of pain relief quickly when if the inner wimp kicks in and I decide that I NEED drugs. For that reason, I think I'd rather be in hospital than a MLU. I don't want them to assume I'd rather be far away from the drugs because they haven't spoken to me!

Crossed posts broody. What is delayed cord clamping? I'm sure they'll teach me all this on my antenatal course. Feeling a bit clueless!

I'm don't have my heart set on anything. Just want the baby out safely with as little pain as possible. I just feel that once I have more knowledge, I'll feel more in control whatever happens IYSWIM.
