So heres a thread. Hope you all find it!

Congrats we've made it this far Wine

My worry at 5 weeks is I just feel apathetic and numb. Not excited, not looking forward. Not even fear. Just.... nothing. Constant knicker watch.

Plus wondering whether to push for an early scan and if so when? Losses were 9 and 11 weeks.

mrsth when did you get bfp? Could you have ovulated later than you thought?

Amyyy27 · 01/04/2015 13:33

Thanks ladies, i have found if i eat very slowly on the couch (half sprawled!) I can get through a box of microchips and keep them down! Im struggling with fluids. Water wont stay down. Pop or juice i cant stomach and cant even swallow. Tea i can sip so long as it is hot, once it cools a little it turns my stomach. I know i shouldnt complain and dont get me wrong i am so thankful to be pregnant again but this is so hard! :(

mrst i know you must be worried if your dates dont match. Did they give you any idea why the baby could be measuring under? Or is it at all possible you ovulated a lot later? I hope you have a much more reassuring scan next time, thinking of you Flowers

Barbiedoll79 · 01/04/2015 13:33

Epskie congratulations and welcome (everyone's really nice here so you'll slide right in- I've only been here a few days and they're already my second family :-) )

Mrs good news about the heartbeat :-) that's the first part sorted
Aww try not to be upset keep us updated on your next scan :-)

Greedy you're not being a fraud at all, I called Epau today as losing my symptoms and had constant pain high in my abdomen for a few days now- they said always ring :-) (also said they are sure pain is not pregnancy related maybe indigestion etc and symptoms going = try not to worry (haha?!?))

Anyone else losing tenderness at 7 weeks?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 01/04/2015 13:45

Mrs as long as they said everything looks healthy for 9 weeks then it's more likely everything is fine. If you were 12 weeks and baby had stopped developing at 9 weeks, there wouldn't have been a healthy heartbeat surely.
Also scans are inaccurate. My two weren't exactly the same size, one was 9.4mm and one was 8.4mm. The consultant said that the margin of error for even the best scanners is 1mm. And that's not to account for the fact that they could be in a difficult positions or your uterus could be retroverted or anything.

With dd, I had a scan at 6+3 which measured exactly 6+3 so I always assumed it was accurate. But this time I've got 1 baby measuring 7+2 and one measuring 6+5 and I have no idea if that means I'll lose one or both or what. But the consultant said everything looked exactly as he would expect so I'll just have to assume it's ok.

fromwesttoeast · 01/04/2015 15:54

Ahhh, Amyy, sorry it's such a struggle. Brings back memories for me, just like you describe.
Guy, no need to worry about the sizes at this point. When my twins were little I ran a twins play group, and it was common for them to be different sizes when young. Positive point to twin preg is lots of extra scans to monitor growth! Do you know if yours are sharing a placenta or not? Maybe too soon to see?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 01/04/2015 16:00

Apparently looked separate, separate sacs.

fromwesttoeast · 01/04/2015 16:31

I think the sacs are always separate, or that's the norm, but if they are identical they often share the placenta. Non identical always have a placenta each. Mine had a placenta each but people take them for identical (even though that's not what they told me at the hospital).
When I first found out I was so overcome I forgot most of what they told me at that scan. Had to ask again at the next one.

Gr33dyeggs · 01/04/2015 17:31

guy I think 2 sacs must be a slightly safer twin pregnancy with no risk of twin to twin transfusion. But obviously that doesn't remove the risk to you. Big hugs.

I saw my GP who has arranged a scan on Tuesday. So far away.

Got my early scan tomorrow. They've also moved my booking in appointment forward so I've got that tomorrow too. Wish me luck.

Over the past week or so I've developed a spotty rash on my stomach and back. Anyone else experienced this? It's not spotty like acne, just red spots.

Barbiedoll79 · 01/04/2015 20:28

Best of luck wispy let us know how you get on x

Amyyy27 · 01/04/2015 20:38

Good luck wispy for tomorrow and greedy for Tuesday x

gennibugs · 01/04/2015 20:48

Good luck wispy. let us know how it goes.

greedy glad you got a scan. hang in there, perhaps the easter weekend will make it go quicker.

fromwesttoeast · 01/04/2015 21:48

Two sacs doesn't remove the risk of twin to twin transfusion. Identical twins are usually in separate sacs but very often share one placenta. Sharing the placenta can result in twin to twin transfusion. It's very rare for twins to be in one sac.
If no twins in the family the likelihood of identical twins is higher. Then all the weird stuff happens... Like they both lose their first tooth within hours of each other....
Honestly Guy, it's an adventure! Tough at first, but so rewarding in the long run. Smile

onefootinthebed · 01/04/2015 22:02

Have more or less constant period pain type stuff it seems. Nausea was stronger today.

Gah ... I can't really afford it but toying with another scan. .

chasingtherainbow · 01/04/2015 23:37

Genni, Cornwalls my heart home.

Saw a show at the minack today which set off my nausea big time. I adore it there but no good with heights and sooo far to the loos!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 02/04/2015 07:30

Thanks fromwest. Consultant definitely said separate sacs and separate placentas. He said this is the lowest risk of twin pregnancies and much less likely to be identical.

Amyyy27 · 02/04/2015 07:50

Thanks everyone. Have taken another day off work as still ill. My body decided to wake me up at 6am just to vomit yay.. on the other hand sent OH out for food shop last night and got loads of 'natural remedies' one that actually seems to be helping is chocolate soya milk! I have been sipping this morning along with a couple of ready salted crisps and haven't vomited since :) so anyone suffering i would recommend it!

wispy good luck today! Fx for you.

guy thats good news for your babies, i know you must be worried but try and take comfort that they have the best chance.

2 days until my scan and i am dreading it! I can only see it being a bad outcome is that normal?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 02/04/2015 08:37

Amyy I've just started wearing travel sickness bands and I swear they are working. I don't think it can be a placebo effect because the evidence for acupressure is so spurious that I didn't believe it would make any difference. But I think it has made the nausea more bearable.
I've booked next week off work. DD will be in nursery so I can just rest for a couple of days. Phew.

I'm very nervous about my 12 week scan. No idea if we'll see two heartbeats, one or none. So much more scope for things to go wrong.

Amyyy27 · 02/04/2015 08:54

guy i have taken to wearing mine constantly except from washing! Do you have a date for your scan?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 02/04/2015 09:06

Yep, 11th May. I'll be 13 weeks.

Amyyy27 · 02/04/2015 09:15

Aww pleased you have a date at least having a count down gives you something to focus on!

onefootinthebed · 02/04/2015 09:24

Amyy this may sound crazy but my friend read that eating breakfast in bed (weetabix or porridge, she ate) kept the nausea away. I know it sounds crazy but I remember reading about it when I had my ds .

Maybe with a try, good luck getting your dh to bringing you breakfast in bed each day, mine wouldn't.
