That was a surprise! 2nd at 26 and first at 18 ! I also have had 3 mc. Last one 4 years ago so guess I am v fertile !!! Maybe it's perimenapause? Maybe I'm kidding myself ? I'm terrified I could be p!! Keep thinking don't be so bloody stupid ! ( my OH s opinion ) or I am as I know my own body ! Can't stop hypo ventilating ! Any one else been p at this age ? If it was in the test window it must still be a bfp surely as the hormone has reacted. The control kube only tells you that enough urine has been used

PacificDogwood · 04/02/2015 21:22

Nope, control window tells you the test is working.

Don't want to worry you but an hour later wouldn't necessarily be a long enough time lapse to be reliable. It's usually 4 hours.

I'd do a first response with first morning urine then if neg just relax

Glad everything worked out well op, fc that your gp can offer you some answers if you period doesn't start

The control line reacts with urine and the test line reacts with the pregnancy hormone. I've never heard of someone just getting a line in the test window before.
I would test again this morning.

Don't get what you are saying here - iniquity, the control window is always going to show as positive, it's the test window you need to look at? Why would it be wrong?

jayseyC66 · 05/02/2015 10:02

Ok ... The first test had only a pale line in the test window .. When checking the instructions it clearly said this was an invalid result and to retest -diagram is in the tesco trst leaflet . MYbe just a faulty test
Second test had a string red line in control window and nothing in test at all
So something clearly went wrong with the first as the line pale and even the wrong way .. Horizontal rather than vertical and wishy washy not like the strong red in the control window of second negative test
Guess it could only happen to me !!

lol

Totally clear OP - and I hope you enjoyed your wine last night!

It can happen that no line appears in the control window and that is a clear sign of a faulty test. I've tested a lot of women's urine in the past and very occasionally you do get a faulty test. Because we'd use a urine sample rather than getting her to POAS, it was easy to just open another test and use the same urine. As for the line being the wrong way and not even a proper line, I wonder if you simply hadn't pee'd enough on the stick and the horizontal line was the normal streaking that you get as the urine passes over the test line and then it never got as far as the control line. Whatever happened, it was right to re-test and you have a clear negative there.

Thank you :) typical for me for it to go wrong ! I was shaking that much I prbably didn't get enough pee on it ! And yes i enjoyed the wine ... A little too much ... That extra glass I know I shouldnt reAlly have but did is taking its toll on my head today ;)
