I have name changed because I really don't want this to be linked to my normal name!

Basically, I'm really constipated, I've read its a common pregnancy symptom so does anyone have any immediate relief ideas?

I'm getting to be in so much pain, I don't know what to do, we are supposed to be having a lovely christmas shopping and decorating day tomorrow, and I don't want this to ruin it!

I know about water/fibre/exercise etc but what can I do to sort it now?! I'm so sorry for asking this Blush

Haha thank you so much, so sorry for all the awkward questions!

One day when this little madame is all grown and having her own babies I can tell her about all the stress being pregnant with her caused me! Grin

Yep...they are worth every push!Wink

Doesn't mean we can't run a little guilt trip when they are older, on occasion!

Hope you have some luck soon.

WinterGloves · 03/12/2014 08:10

Any luck?

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 08:35

Had 2 sachets of Movicol last night and this morning a bit has come out. Still struggling though. Also this morning, apparently my body has decided it doesn't like movicol and I've thrown it all up Angry

Oh no Sad

It's not great tasting stuff, I mixed in some cordial. Keep going but if it's not working, call your Dr again.

Bimberley · 03/12/2014 12:14

You may need to phone DR again.

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 12:34

Have been upstairs all morning as too worried to go far from toilet. There is stuff that needs to come out and I am seriously pissed off that its not. I feel ill because I haven't eaten.

DS is being a monster, I have been slapped in the face with shouts of "I don't care!", headbutted in the belly, had books throw at me, and been screamed at.

DP is coming home for a couple of hours, he will make lunch and more Movicol for me. If I'm sick again then I will call the doctors, although it does say on the leaflet a side affect of Movicol is vomiting

OP posts:
NoRoomForALittleOne · 03/12/2014 13:48

Yes, but it can also be a side effect of a bowel obstruction. If you vomit again, call the GP ASAP and see what they say. They will need to know if you are in pain and if you are able to pass wind.

ovaltine · 03/12/2014 13:51

Glycerin suppositories. I'd avoid all bran!!! Can actually hinder things. Get some lactulose from dr and have some daily

ovaltine · 03/12/2014 13:53

Oh and I puke horribly when constipated. Can't wear a bra or anything even remotely supportive as that makes things worse. Urgh horrible!! Poor thing.

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 14:15

Have taken another sachet of movicol, wasn't sick this time. I now feel like I have constipation and diarrhea at the same time..

OP posts:
NoRoomForALittleOne · 03/12/2014 16:43

That's because you do! Hopefully you are close to relief.

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 17:03

Had some relief at last! Just as I was on the verge of calling the doctor or nhs 111, a big lump came out. The relief was amazing, but there's still more there. Hopefully the hardest bit is over Grin

OP posts:
Allstoppedup · 03/12/2014 17:06

YAY! gets out congratulations on your poo balloons

The big lump is the worst bit! Keep going regularly and for the love of God don't stop the laxatives! Grin

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 17:32

God those revolting laxatives.. Envy
When do I stop the laxatives? Will they give me diarrhoea now? Still a bit scared to go, which is stupid but it was hard work haha

browneyedgirly · 03/12/2014 17:40

I'm so pleased! Been checking on your... ahem... 'progress' for the last couple of days!! Is that creepy? It is a bit. Sorry. But congrats, hope the worst is over!

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 17:49

Haha browneyedgirly thanks for the concern! Meh, no more weird then me having a thread on the internet with over 100 posts! My longest thread ever.. should I be proud?! Grin

Just been again.. sweet relief! Amazing how much better I feel!

How long do I keep up the Movicol now? I don't want to be back here

OP posts:
purplefeathers · 03/12/2014 18:05

I'd keep going with the movicol, at least one or two sachets a day, for a while just to keep you regular.

Congratulations Grin

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 18:14

Thanks! Smile

OP posts:
Allstoppedup · 03/12/2014 18:27

Same as previous posters. Keep taking the movicol on the lowest dose daily until your prescription is done. At worst you will have slightly runny, er, leavings.

Just realised I'm unsure how far along you are in your pregnancy but I also found my laxido(movicol) a true godsend post birth as I was VERY anxious about that first poo/stitches etc...maybe keep a few sachets handy! Grin

You can then move on more natural means to keep you regular. Small dose of lactulose and prune juice should help.

CilkieWallins · 03/12/2014 18:27

So happy for you that there's been some relief! Have been lurking and hoping things would improve-prior to second pregnancy I don't think I realised how horrid this situation could be...

Allstoppedup · 03/12/2014 18:28

Ooh, forgot to add I'm glad you are feeling better. It's such a miserable time!

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 03/12/2014 18:43

Glad you're starting to feel better OP! I've been lurking too Grin You've got a regular (ho ho) squad of cheerleaders on this thread!

Allstoppedup · 03/12/2014 18:48

Ahhhh...all these lurkers ...

I thought my extensive poo expertise was mostly between the OP and I.

The shame!Blush

SoEmbarrassingIveNameChanged · 03/12/2014 18:57

I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I didn't have this in my first pregnancy either! Cheerleaders for poo, who'd have thought this would be the most interesting thing in my life at the moment Blush Grin
