Plus size bumps!

Have seen a few threads where women are feeling crap for being plus size and pregnant. I feel crap sometimes too, especially when googling pregnancy and only seeing representations of slim pregnant women and nobody who looks like me (no offence at all to slim women). I couldn't really find much that wasn't critical or bump pics!

So here's a thread for plus size bumps if you're feeling up to posting yours!

Here's mine- 25 weeks today!

You don't look plus sized in the slightest.
Just a beautiful pregnant woman.

magneticfield55 · 04/11/2014 13:00

Thank you :) But plus size women are beautiful pregnant women too!

I was a plus sized pregnant woman and loved being pregnant, loved my body so enjoy every minute. Grin

Haha your 25 week "plus size" bump just make me feel like a chuffing monster, no way in hell I'm posting a response picture up to that, you look amazing.

I'm 29 weeks, 4ft 11, size 16 in maternity clothes and my arse is as big as my bump, I still have a horizontal line across my belly button where it was a spare tyre, now I still have a spare Tyre just with a bump under it! I'm not even rounded.

I'm a whale. You my dear are looking damn fine.... you cow! lol.

magneticfield55 · 04/11/2014 13:23

I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad :( It's a particularly flattering pic, I wouldn't have posted it otherwise! My flab is both over the bump but mostly under. Have a 2 tier thing going on, top is hard and bottom flabby!

TheHermitCrab · 04/11/2014 13:37

excuses excuses ;)

God I'm all flabby! my stomach feels tight and bloated on me.. but when I touch it I could start earthquakes! haha

Jodie1982 · 04/11/2014 13:53

Annarose2014 · 04/11/2014 14:19

JaneyTea · 04/11/2014 15:14

Only 15 weeks, so no bump to post yet, (and not sure if I would Confused ) but lovely to see these pics. Beautiful bumps, (and great red dress Smile )

TinyMonkey · 04/11/2014 15:15

Plus size bumps!
Jodie1982 · 04/11/2014 15:29

Impressive Bump TinyMonkey, nice size bubba in there! Love Bump Pics. :)

Jodie1982 · 04/11/2014 15:30

I seem to be the only one with a Double Chin! (Almost triple chin lol)

TheHermitCrab · 04/11/2014 15:32

Wowsers at the bumps, mine looks like I had one too many pies.

Haha jodie @ the chins comment! :) or :)))) should I say. I think I've grown a chin for every month of pregnancy !

TinyMonkey · 04/11/2014 15:36

Thanks Jodie. I was diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks, so have had to eat very carefully. As a result I've put on a lot less than I expected to. My weight has stayed pretty much the same for the last 6 weeks and I've only put on a stone since booking in. Baby due by c-section in 4 weeks! Looking forward to being able to see my feet again.

Like FannyFifer I've really loved my body whilst being pregnant, I wonder if it's easier to accept the weight gain and changing shape if you're not teeny tiny to start with? I certainly wasn't mourning the loss of a 24" waist! Smile

weeblueberry · 04/11/2014 15:42

Flipping love this thread!!

I was a size 14 last pregnancy and only managed to lose 14lbs of a 3stone gain so I'm quite a bit heavier this time. Am definitely noticing more hip pain and achy pelvis that I don't remember happening til much later last time! Guess it's the effect of those extra lbs!

Will post my 20 week bump when I get home!

magneticfield55 · 04/11/2014 16:11

Maybe! I don't feel any sense of loss about my body, and I'm not worried about my, "post baby body" as I imagine it'll be quite similar to my pre one! (Except for vagina stuff, that does worry me...)

Jodie1982 · 04/11/2014 16:29

Lol Magnetic! I always worry about my poor old fanny, it's had a hard life after 5births n Episiotimies. I get doing my Pelvic Floors ASAP cos getting a Bucket is always my worry, no complaints from DP as yet. Pmsl. Grin

JaneyTea · 04/11/2014 18:00

So far for me, my thinking has reversed. Before, I was always worried people would think I was pregnant when I wasn't (mostly the fear of being offered a seat on public transport Blush ). Now, I want people to think I'm pregnant and not just fat. Oh, and offer me that seat.....

Grin that made me smile. I was always scared someone would think I was pregnant when I was just fat (after having ds) and now I'm pregnant, I'm always hoping they realise I'm pregnant suffering with PGP and not just some fat lazy person, who's so fat they can barely walk.

Hello! Marking place so I can post a bump pic tomorrow. I'm 32 weeks, 5'4" and BMI was 43 at booking in.
I've really struggled with being plus-size and pregnant. My GP basically told me I would kill my baby giving birth to it due to my weight, which really fucked my already fragile mental health up. I've tried to stay as positive as possible, though. I am very fit and active, and I eat healthily. I have an underactive thyroid gland which means I don't gain or lose weight at a normal, healthy rate (ie at all, either way!). This is the hand I've been dealt and I know that I'm not the fattest woman to ever give birth, and that I can do this. My GTT came back perfectly healthily, which was something I really worried about.
The one thing I would really like to avoid is a C-section, because I worry that it would be difficult to heal with so much extra flesh. Of course in an emergency situation I will have no qualms, but it is a constant niggle at the back of my mind.

cheshirem2b · 05/11/2014 09:47

BMI was in the 30s when I was booked in and so far I've only put on 3-4lb but it is my weekly weigh-in tomorrow (I lost a bit in early pg).

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and the picture below is one DH took at the weekend.
Been diagnosed with GD as well in the last couple of weeks so will hopefully get some answers tomorrow at my clinic appointments as to whether they are likely to induce me (likely pre-Christmas) or leave me to go naturally (likely New Year).
I'm so glad someone started a thread for us shapely ladies - too many skinny people about in my humble opinion! Wink
