I'm 99.99% certain that there's a very faint positive line on the pg test I've just done. It is very faint, but compared to one I did the other day I'm sure there's a line there. And it is still a couple of day until AF is due.

Need to go to the chemist and get another one just to make absolute certain but I'm not feeling very optimistic that it's going to show a negative.

I take it this isn't good news then?

ShowOfHands · 22/09/2006 15:14

How terrible is it if it's bfp?

badkarma · 22/09/2006 15:14

Oh crap... was it you who took the morning after pill the other day? And had a run in your tights?

badkarma · 22/09/2006 15:14

The run in your tights wasn't because of the MAP... just incase my post seemed odd

TheBlonde · 22/09/2006 15:16

You might be better to wait til the morning and test again then (if you can bear to wait)

Spidermama · 22/09/2006 15:16

QOQ !

NomDePlume · 22/09/2006 15:18

why are you testing so early QOQ ? I assume you were expecting to be pg ?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 15:26

yes it was me that had the cr*ppy week last week - and took the Morning After Pill. I've had a horrible "gut" feeling since then that it didn't work, and knowing that I managed to pick-up both my previous pg's early with a test couldn't bear to wait until next week - or later to find out. AF should have been due on Monday/Tuesday next week - but of course the MAP can delay it by up to a week (if it works!) ad that was too long for me too wait.

Blu · 22/09/2006 15:28

I thought you were getting the MAP?
is it unrelliable?
or you and DP must be super-fertile!!!!

Blu · 22/09/2006 15:29

x-posted.

can the hormones in the MAP cause a positive test, do you think? (unlikey, it tests for hgh, doesn't it?)

Beetroot · 22/09/2006 15:29

I have known the mAP to not work

Twiglett · 22/09/2006 15:30

oh bugger

it'll all be ok QOQ

you can deal with this

Spidermama · 22/09/2006 15:31

Let us know if and when we're allowed to say 'congratulations'. Easy for me to say I know.
Have you told your dh yet?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 15:33

Blu - I took the MAP less than 12 hours after 'the deed' - even took it in front of DH just incase it didn't work - didn't want DH to think I'd deliberately not taken it!

But DS1 was concieved first month of trying, DS2 came along without trying (yes it's happened before! - but wasn't so terrible when I fell with DS2 as we had sort of discussed a no.2 and finances weren't so much of an issue etc etc).

This time it's different, we're only just getting back on our feet after a disatrous year last year. DH doesn't want anymore children - something I was hoping to talk him round about in a few YEARS time - once DS2 was at school and finances etc were better.

And now it's sodding raining, so I don't think I'll be able to get to Morrisons to get another one now......I doubt the local One Stop would sell them!

Spider - no haven't told him yet - want to do another test first, and try and work out how the hell to tell him! Ironically just after I'd written the OP he rang to ask me something completely unrelated...asked if I was ok - and of course I just "yes of course darling"!

OP posts:
badkarma · 22/09/2006 15:37

Listen, far worse things can happen. Take it from me. My family are Irish and must be super fertile. All 4 of my sisters have kids, and one of them took the MAP as her son was just 3 months old.... Her son had just turned one when her second son was born.. the MAP just didn't work for her. It's not the end of the world. Really, it isn't. Dh will be fine, he will come round to the idea, and if not, are there other options open for you at all?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 15:39

I know badkarma - it's just that, well I don't know really. When I tested too early the other day and it was negative I almost felt disappointed, a little part of me seemed to want a big fat + . But now it looks like I am pg I don't know what to think.

oh blimey this is the first time EVER I have really wished I could drive. Then I could chuck the cars seats - and kids - in the back - zoot down to Morrisons grab another one (or two or three) and zoot back again.

There's constant drizzle outside - and it doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon. I need to know, need to know that my eyes aren't lying to me and need to prepare myself to tell DH later if I'm right.......... .

ComeOVeneer · 22/09/2006 15:45

I know plenty of people who have fallen pregnant at a time that wasn't suitable, but somehow they have all muddled through. I know things have been a bit rough for you recently but I'm sure you will cope if it turns out you are pregnant. Fingers crossed it all turns out ok.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 15:46

I don't know Pamina - I think part of this is worry about how DH is going to react - it was him that sent me off pronto to get the MAP (although I didn't argue with him!) and he's said quite a few times that he doesn't want a 3rd (whereas in an ideal world I'd love 4 - but would compromise on 3 ).

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2006 15:47

Would I be a really terrible mummy if I dragged my kids off to Morrisons in the drizzle? It's not heavy rain, very light infact, but it's about 10 minutes walk............

ComeOVeneer · 22/09/2006 15:48

Dh will now you didn't do it unpurpose though, so hopefully it won't take too much to bring him around to the idea will it?

ComeOVeneer · 22/09/2006 15:49

No, its good excercise. Put their raincoats and wellies on then they can jump in the puddles.
