Hi everyone. I have dropped off a bit due to manic weeks preparing for baby and MIL moving to the UK. And I'm knackered all the time. I can't get through a day without a nap. Hats off to everyone who are still working till 38 or 39 weeks!

I'm officially full term now. 37+3 today. With dd my water already broke during the wee hours in the morning at this point. So I think I'm looking at a sept baby now.

squiz fundal height is very very inaccurate. But if it's less than 3cm than your weeks, they will refer you to a growth scan. That's why I was referred at 34 weeks. And 6lb is normal. I have very small babies so that's why they are concerned. DD was born at 2.52kg at 37 weeks. 2.5kg is the threshold for being big enough to discharge. 6lb is way bigger than that! My growth scan has a chart that predicts my current bean will reach 2.5kg at 37 weeks, which sounds the same size as DD. I'm hoping i can make it to 38 weeks so baby will be a good size (it'll be 3kg at 40 weeks). So yes even if yours pop now it will be fine.

baby that sounds great. Today is your moving day isn't it?

alb when's your EDD? I can't scroll back as dd for my iPad so I'm reduced to typing this on my phone! Hope your little one make an appearance soon.

mrsg how frustrating. You are definitely getting pre-labour signs. It can take a while to have it really going. I'm getting a lot if braxton hicks yesterday. And also baby is apparently engaged at the 36 week appt, according to the MW. But yours sound much stronger with the backache. Latest you will see your baby tomorrow. And I like your positivity re waiting till sept! DH originally said it'd be great to be in aug since we can save a year of nursery fees! Now he has changed his mind because of the small size. I think it will come when it will. It's not like I can hurry her up can I?

Speaking of hurrying it up. I did drink raspberry leaf tea from around 35 week last time. It was disgusting. I didn't this time as I want it in for a while longer still. I always like a curry so haven't stopped eating hot food.

fedup it will be soon be all done. It took me 2-3 weeks to clear out all the rubbish, sell stuff on gumtree and now I'm all done so I can have my feet up.

Hope everyone have a nice week.

Cuppachaplz · 31/08/2014 08:37

squix 6lb fine, even if you give birth today! But baby will gain weight. Also 45th centile almost slap bang in the middle. Also, scans at this stage can wildly underestimate; had a friend who was told 6-7lb and baby born 10lb9! Although FX yours is on the smaller end for your sake xx

Feeling utterly rubbish now. Swollen ankles and hands, pounding headache, abdo pain, and constant dizziness and nausea, with horrible dry vomiting :((
V glad I went in on Thursday, as this was where it started so have at least had some reassurance. Hoping that I have just overdone it and a day in bed will fix, unless anyone has any wonder remedy ideas?

Babytinx11 · 31/08/2014 09:36

squiz I was just less that 6lbs born and they weren't worried admittedly I am a bit of a short ass but otherwise all good lol I wouldn't worry as long as baby is healthy and has 10 fingers and toes it's weight shouldn't matter too much :)

squizita · 31/08/2014 09:45

Thanks. Just amazed someone being told they were consultant led (or might be) as their pfb was 6 lb 15! Shock
I was happy with 6-7 lb until then.
More than happy having heard stories of whoppers hammering mates' pelvic floors! Grin

OneLittleToddleTerror · 31/08/2014 10:00

squiz I'm sure there is something more to the 6lb15 to consultant led. If you google for low birth rate it will tell you it's 2.5kg. Mine was just over and I wasn't consultant led! And not even growth scans until the fundal length dropped off at 34 weeks. (I think it was either 34 or 36 last time too). I think 2.5kg is 5lb5 or 5lb8 only. You are definitely more than fine! Even I'm not that worried as I'm confident I'll make it to at least the second half of 37 week now. And hopefully fingers crossed baby will just cross the threshold.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 31/08/2014 10:02

And I guess it's easier for me as I'm seeing daily my very healthy DD.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 31/08/2014 10:02

Despite the lower than average birth weight. It's 10% on the weight chart btw.

MrsGiraffe12 · 31/08/2014 11:36

onetoddler hurrah for reaching full term :-) it's a milestone we all can't wait for!

I had another bad night. Toe curling pelvic pressure which made me feel like I needed a poo and wee at the same time, despite having the runs all day (sorry - gross I know). Also very stabby pains in cervix.
Add it to continuous back pain and contractions below my belly button that lasted 40 seconds every 20 mins, I thought I was in labour. But nope, eased of slightly this morning and only one or two an hour!

This makes me think perhaps I should cancel my c section tomorrow as my body is obviously almost ready to give birth but on the flip side I'm desperate to meet my baby.

If it gets bad again today I'll call unit and see if they will see me and check me, if I've started properly I won't have the section I think.

Cuppachaplz · 31/08/2014 11:40

That sounds like pre labour / early labour to me mrsg. Best of luck. One way or another baby cuddles very soon xx

one little full term baby! fab stuff :) xx

MrsGiraffe12 · 31/08/2014 12:00

Ah well, going to try to enjoy the day despite the pains, DS has been taken out by his grandparents today so me and DH can go for a carvery. I'm gonna enjoy this as I'm nil my mouth again by midnight :-)

fedupofrainydays · 31/08/2014 12:55

Not feeling too good here today. Ds was up at 5 then I went back to sleep til 10.45 but don't feel too well :(

Hope all ok mrsg and is exciting either way - get to meet baby soon!

Congrats one on getting full term!

MrsGiraffe12 · 31/08/2014 13:52

fedup sending you hugs. Hope you feel better soon, pregnancy is tough enough without feeling poorly :-(

Alb1 · 31/08/2014 14:18

mrsg hopefully things get moving for you today then, although either way it's exciting times for you in the next 24 hours!

one congrats on reaching full term! There's a fair few thread babies coming along soon here then Smile

fedup sorry your feeling rubbish, hope you feel better soon and get some decent sleep tonight.

Now 40+1 and no movement here despite a good long walk yesterday and several hours on the birth ball, gona give the house a good clean this afternoon if I can be bothered so that everything is ready and hope that somehow encourages things... I can dream

MrsGiraffe12 · 31/08/2014 15:11

alb I've found that scrubbing grout in the bathroom with a toothbrush really helps set off contractions Wink may be worth a shot. Or not. Depends if you don't mind spendin your baby free time doing menial tasks :-) x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 31/08/2014 15:26

Haha I like the idea that cleaning grout helps labour to start it's probably like bouncing on the birth ball and walking up and down stairs, but more productive? At least if it doesn't work you have clean grout to be proud of!

alb has the MW talked about sweeps with you yet? I asked at my 36 week appt and was told they don't want anyone going over 42 weeks. (My question was whether 42 being 42+0 or 42+6). I think they start sweeps before 42 weeks. Are you ok with being induced?

mrsg diarrhoea is actually an early labour symptom so don't apologise for TMI. We have been there!

fedup hope you are ok.

We went to a country park today with the weather being so gorgeous. I don't think there will be many sunny weekends left. DD exhausted and felt asleep in the car and is still sleeping. I think I will take advantage of it and catch up on some sleep. I just wake up so often in the night now.

Alb1 · 31/08/2014 15:57

one yeah theyv said here theyl do a sweep at the 41 week appointment which is at 41+2 for me (they don't see u between 38 and 41 weeks) and then if that doesn't work they induce at 41+5 but I think if I get there I'm gona beg for atleast 1 extra sweep to try n avoid induction, I'm not really opposed to it but I'd just rather not if I can avoid it, and one sweep just doesn't seem like much. But due to work commitments DP has had to start paternity leave tomorrow so if I end up being induced hel only get a day or two with the baby before he has to go back to work, and that would be really sad! But as he's the boss he's not easy to cover so we havnt really had any choice but to plan it like this. So baby eviction plans are being stepped up from tonight Grin and mrsg il be dusting off an old toothbrush to give the tiles a go (although something tells me the cats will think 'steal the toothbrush from the fat lady' is an awesome game)

MrsGiraffe12 · 31/08/2014 16:32

alb good luck :-)

Gwlondon · 31/08/2014 18:37

Good luck for all those whose babies are nearly here!

squizita · 31/08/2014 19:26

One well done on keeping going. Full-term-knackered too! Grin Takes me about 5 minutes to get up the stairs!

Cuppa Hope you're feeling better, also Fedup. Brew

MrsG keeping FX for you. Whatever happens it's baby time tomorrow... but intrigued to find out how baby G makes their grand entrance!

Alb Hope the grout scrubbing works and you don't have to wait for a sweep. :)

I've edged into the "Ok you're baked now baby" mentality over the weekend - only 38 weeks on Friday such an impatient soul... hobbling along with a sore back today, baby feels super low so every little wriggle or movement means I'm off for a wee.
Just done my pereneal massage and guzzled down my raspberry leaf tea.
Bag all packed and ready to roll.
Grin Of course I bet I go at 41+6 now!!! Grin

ilovechops · 31/08/2014 20:49

Hi all, just checking in after almost a week of being quiet! Not sure why just super busy gearing up for moving house in a few weeks.

Had another scan on Tuesday, all fine at 10Wks and am happy to be nearing the 12 week mark. Still have the odd wobble but generally staying positive.

squiz my DD was just over 6lb, she was born at 41+6 and totally fine. Some people make smaller (ish) babies. She's now tall for her age and by no means a skinny one. It's just how your body makes a baby and seriously 6lb is a healthy weight.

mrsg good luck! Either now or tomo morning if you're holding on still!

I've still got the nausea and exhaustion but it's generally reducing a bit which is nice. Not so nice is terrible wind!!! Who else was saying this?! miss was it you? Think we are around the same stage? Can't believe how bad (and funny) it is! Also my tummy is BIG. I mean pre pregnancy I was size 10 not overweight and no real belly but wow it's here now!! I would say it's obvious now if you look especially in the evening. Look like I've eaten a balloon (and feel like that too) hopefully is because 2nd baby?! Keep worrying there might be two in there and they've missed one but don't think so!

No more scans for me now until 13 wks...how will I manage!

cuppa fed uphope you're doing ok.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 31/08/2014 20:50

I'm so knackered I'm falling asleep now! Haven't got sore back yet back oh my the baby feels really really low. I feel like going for a wee all the time too. I honestly don't remember it being like this last time.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 31/08/2014 20:55

ilovechops the tummy is because it's a second baby sadly. Your stomach muscles aren't as tight as it was (unless you are seriously athletic). I am so much bigger this time. I know I was still in the same skinnies when I was carrying DD at 14weeks because I went on a holiday last time at that time. This time round I couldn't fit into them maybe at 10 week or so. Even worse I can't even fit into the same maternity jeans!

Babytinx11 · 31/08/2014 21:52

Good luck tomorrow mrsg Smile tomorrow is the big day here to moving in after getting them to put the date back again lol almost finished the last bits now omg though I hurt everywhere but I can see the finish line just need to move my butt again lol

SuzyBean · 31/08/2014 22:02

Babytinx and MrsG good luck for tomorrow!! This time tomorrow your stressful day will be over! Babytinx enjoy your new house and MrsG enjoy your new bubba x

fedupofrainydays · 31/08/2014 22:35

Oddly I think I'm smaller this pregnancy than my first. I might have showed earlier but bump is not as big as last time. Don't know what that means. I still feel enormous though!! Some people say the shape is different this time - so bets are on it's a girl, despite carrying just like a boy is supposed to be carried!!

Good luck tomorrow baby and mrsg
