*Baby hope house is nice!!

Cuppa sorry to hear about your scare. Very relieved it was nothing serious but poor you, cervical pain is a literal PITA! And we'll done for catering dsd's wedding. Kudos! I wouldn't have managed, I can barely slop stew into the slow cooker!

Alb sorry you're knackered. FX little alb is on their way!

Suzy yay! Lovely scan news. 3 days is nothing the tolerance for a healthy bubs is 7-10, sounds like it matches your overall dates perfectly.

Moomin hurrah for the nhs. :) it's such a relief that moment they check you out and all is OK. :)

Babytinx11 · 29/08/2014 20:31

Fab news squiz seems my posts have all gone on in a weird order ?? the joys of 3G signal which I have to put up with till the 16th when I'll have shiney new fibre optic broad band :) feeling very positive about the move now having seen the house and it's lovely inside :) plus landlord is hiring a contractor to tidy up the junk left by the last tennant so then I just need to smile sweetly at my dad to tidy the garden up for me and I'll be happy :)

MrsGiraffe12 · 30/08/2014 07:29

This baby likes playing games with me :-( was having contractions yesterday from about 5pm, lasting between 30 and 40 seconds each about every 20 minutes. And each one made my back agony and my belly was solid and hurt enough to use my breathing. "Brilliant" I thought, won't have to wait till Monday. Had a bad nights slept, dozing and tossing and turning due to the discomfort. I remember seeing 4 am but no more and have just woke up and nothing other than a horendous back ache. No contractions or anything. So frustrating after having such regular pains. Do have the constant feeling of needing a poo though (sorry tmi) so baby is probably very low.

Urgh, less than 48 hours though till c section day, attempt 2.

I would prefer baby to make an apperence today or tomorrow though as the 4 mums in DS class have babies who would be in the same year group as this baby if it arrived in August, plus a years less childcare! Is that a bad reason lol x

MrsGiraffe12 · 30/08/2014 07:31

Ps alb so sorry your feeling so rubbish. One of the joys of late pregnancy!! Hopefully won't be long till baby is here. HAPPY DUE DATE by the way x

missmakesstuff · 30/08/2014 07:50

Baby that's great the house is nice, glad it's all working out in the end. mrsg good luck! Must be frustrating though when you think 'this is it'.

I got three appointments through yesterday, scan, consultant and a discussion appointment about having a vbac, they've made it for October so quite early, I didn't expect it but it's nice I get to discuss it all with someone, have a few things to get off my chest after the last c section!

I have got to confess I have shocking wind this week, I really need to do something about it before I start teaching again next week! It was so bad yesterday I convinced myself something had gone wrong because I had such bad stomach pains...no, just needed a massive fart!

MrsGiraffe12 · 30/08/2014 07:58

miss the wind doesn't get much better I'm afraid, at least not in my experience. I've had it from day one and not stopped even now at 38+6 Blush

blankfornames · 30/08/2014 08:01

Boozle, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope you have lots of RL support out there. Thinking of you.

Alb and MrG, it's a race to the finish for you both now! Good luck with everything & can't wait to hear your news!

Suzy, congrats!!

As for me, I'm 15+2 and feeling great. Although my tummy is definitely getting bigger, that's the only symptom that I have that I'm still pregnant. I've a docs appt next Friday so I hope she has a doppler to put my mind to rest. DH thinks I'm mad as I'd love another private (reassurance) scan. He sees me getting bigger too and therefore can't understand why I can't fully believe that baby is ok. I'm not back to the hospital till my 20wk in early Oct. I'm longing for movement!!

Anyway that's my update! Enjoy your weekend!

fedupofrainydays · 30/08/2014 08:22

bozzle so sorry to hear your news. :( it's such a blow and so sad. Take care of yourself please Thanks

mrsg it's better educationally and sporting to be a sept / oct baby! They say. Although I'm an aug baby and never struggled - was always top set etc so not sure of the theory / truth!

miss windeeze is safe to take in pregnancy and I've taken it a fair bit as kept getting painful trapped wind.

Had weird dream last night about having uncontrollable boob leakage! I was squirting milk everywhere! Quite comical really.

Happy belated due date alb. Very exciting!

Congrats suzy and welcome newbies.

Sorry I've not caught up with everyone but hello everyone! Hope all is well and no one is feeling too crazy at the mo. seasalt I was close to section ing (of the MH variety not CS) up until my anomaly scan. Really just felt totally mental. It got the better of me, the anxiety, insane worry and nightmares were terrible. I would get more reassurance scans if you can afford it and take each day at a time. A cloud lifted after the anomaly scan for me - a small cloud. I'm still a loon but definately not as bad.

Cakebaker35 · 30/08/2014 11:15

Sorry to pop on for a rant but here goes! Was meant to have 20 wk scan today, really so geared up for it and counting down the days as I know I'd start to feel it was all real after we have had it ... But it's just been cancelled due to staff illness! Gutted! I know these things can't be helped but I'm irrationally livid! Waiting for new date now Sad

squizita · 30/08/2014 11:40

How frustrating! But they can't be too careful with pregnant women ... If the sonographer is germy s/he should stay home. :(

tannyLoo · 30/08/2014 12:11

Phew! For an old bird, I was a tad nervous about our combined test results, but they arrived this morning and are 1:1202. Breathing a little easier for now...

HollyBen · 30/08/2014 12:22

Good news tanny I was a bit nervous about mine too. They arrived yesterday 1 in just over 39000. Considering for my age alone it is 1 in 108, I am pleased with that. Also got date for my anomoly scan - 10th October. Less than 6 weeks to go.

SuzyBean · 30/08/2014 14:09

Congrats tannyLoo and HollyBen that"s great news!

Alb1 · 30/08/2014 14:28

Great news tanny and holly Grin

Alb1 · 30/08/2014 15:13

Gah am so sick of pregnancy, feel rubbish! and I basically have a migraine but am getting really paranoid it's pre-eclampsia... My migraines are really mild, I get really bad aura n then jus a dull headache n feel shakey for the day, proly only had about 4 in my life... But cos iv had visual disturbance ( which lasted about an hour an has now gone) and then a headache that hasn't gone with paracetamol (although it's really not that bad of a headache) I'm getting all paranoid, I have no swelling whatsoever, and it's exactly the same as every other migraine iv ever had... But I can't help but worry. Also frustrated cos i literally need a wee 100% of the time today, which is making me worry about a uti, but I'm hoping it just means he's engaged more, although I saw my boss yesterday and she assures me my bump is still far too high n hasn't dropped at all she he can't be ready to come yet... Not what I wanted to hear, I hope she's wrong! Sorry about the pointless rant, I'm hoping as it's my due date and I'm not in labour I'm just naturally grumpy and il return to normal tomorrow Smile gona go for a walk into town now even tho I feel rubbish and need a wee and see if I can encourage this baby to get a wriggle on!

Hope everyone's ok, and mrsg fx things get moving for you today! I had wanted an august baby aswell, many teachers have told Me September babies do better in school but I have to say I think it's a load of rubbish, it may be true for the first year or so for some children but my most intelligent friends all happen to have august birthdays and did great in school, they just hated it when they got to college and didn't have id for alcohol at the same time as the rest of us haha

MrsGiraffe12 · 30/08/2014 16:02

Thanks alb I'm just fed up of the pains now, been having them today again and a bit sharper but it's been going on and off for so many weeks im not getting my hopes up!

Fingers crossed it happens for you soon, it's a race to the finish line for me you and squizita x

tannyLoo · 30/08/2014 19:25

If it's any comfort, alb, my 2 ds's never engaged until I was well into labour, so I don't think it matters. Hope it's not too much longer!

squizita · 30/08/2014 20:23

Another newbie question - yesterday the scan suggested a 6lb baby. I know they're not 100% accurate but they talked me through everything and placed the baby around the 40-45th percentile (i.e. short side of normal).

Online, I hear 6lb referred to as if it is tiny and a clinical issue on forums and so on. But my consultant, the obgyn registrar, and 2 midwives yesterday were all unphased by this. On most sources they say 6-9lb is normal with 7lb average.
6lb+ is perfectly Ok should my waters break in Tesco next week right?? I know she will lay down fat over the next 2 weeks if she waits till due date.

missmakesstuff · 30/08/2014 20:40

Thanks fir the info about the windeez, will try that and been gulping peppermint tea down.
Feeling very frumpy, can't wear jeans unless they're my new maternity one because my tummy is so bloated, really worried I'm going to look horrible at work, what with a fat belly and massive spots all over my neck and chest.

Mind you I did buy two new pairs of shoes on eBay with flatish heels, any excuse, although I intend to wear my heels for a nit I'm sure my back will give out soon enough.

God I hope I can find some clothes to wear next week! Roll on the really proper bump phase where everything else looks slim in comparison!

missmakesstuff · 30/08/2014 20:44

Meant to say, congrats tanny and I'm sure squiz it's fine, they would have mentioned if they were worried surely? Dd was 7lbs at 38 weeks, she is tall now but has never been chubby, never had that chubby baby knee thing! Like you say they grow lots when you start to slow down too.

squizita · 30/08/2014 20:51

I'm just puzzled because I know a LOT of full term babies that came between 6-7lb. I thought anywhere 6-10lb raised no eyebrows.

It's only online that you hear things (like in another thread here someone said they might have growth scans for their 2nd pregnancy because their 1st child was 6lb 1oz! How would that be considered tiny?!) which place any baby under 7lb as a problem.

squizita · 30/08/2014 20:52

Urgh 6lb 15oz (fifteen) ... hence not tiny.

MrsGiraffe12 · 30/08/2014 21:06

Squiz my growth scan at 32 weeks said baby was about 3lb 13oz, but they also said they could be out by 1 or 2 lbs so do try not to worry.

I freaked a bit before they said about being out as they can gain half a pound to a pound a week till term from then. So I was like 7- 11lb baby oh my god!

A term baby will be a healthy size, provided they've found no problems yet.

squizita · 30/08/2014 21:17

Just realised when rooting round for baby sizes we've not added the stats to this thread. Thanks MrsG indeed looking at all the full term stats here they do indeed vary from 5lb-10, so the idea that 6-9lb is the 'normal' bracket seems to bear out. Grin These are the last ones from the old thread:

squiz is she 6lb now?
To me 6lb sounds fine whether now or born with it. I wouldn't worry at all about that. Doctors weren't concerned either so neither should you!
