Ps. Thanks for the get better soon wishes today. I've literally done nothing so hope I will feel a bit better tomorrow. I think it's a combo of working hard, not getting much sleep and the stress of the house and being homeless, moving around and living out of bags. Plus a small matter of being over 34 weeks preg. Next wk is going to be tough as I'm on my own for a fair bit of it as DH goes away.

MrsGiraffe12 · 01/09/2014 02:23

Thanks all again for the good wishes :-) I'm so ready for this baby now, 3 weeks of slow labour is not fun. Especially since thursday where it's been agony, paracetamols and warm baths do feck all.

But yay baby moving day is here whoop x

fedupofrainydays · 01/09/2014 07:31

Can't wait to hear news mrsg!

Early stages of labour for me with ds concluded I didn't want a water birth as warm bath did nothing for me either and could not get comfy!!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 01/09/2014 07:38

Let us know how the day goes baby and mrsg.

I hope water works for me. I have my eyes set on a lovely water birth this time.

amicablemoomin · 01/09/2014 08:06

Good luck mrsg! Can't wait to hear the news. alb hope things start to move along for you soon!

HollyBen · 01/09/2014 08:26

Good luck today mrsg and I hope the move goes well baby

I remember being in your position alb. DD was born at 41+4. I was so swollen and uncomfortable. I was booked in to be induced at 41+5 but a second sweep at 41+2 did the job

MrsGiraffe12 · 01/09/2014 08:29

Hi all.

Just a quick update from me while DH and midwives are busy.

Just been checked over and I'm officially in labour and am 4cm dilated! So the horrendous last few days have not been in vain.

I've said I'll decline the elective c section as I'm in labour. I've got 12 hours to deliver now before it becomes an emergency one during labour!

Excited and scared doesn't come close haha x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 01/09/2014 08:32

mrsg all the best. Hopefully baby will appear in the next 12 hours and they don't have to do a EMCS.

MrsGiraffe12 · 01/09/2014 08:50

Yeah. It's strange, all the way through I wanted the c section but in last few weeks I changed my mind.

Ah well, either way I'm having a baby today :-)

tannyLoo · 01/09/2014 08:58

MrsG love how you're posting in delivery suite! Hope it goes well today x

MrsGiraffe12 · 01/09/2014 09:15

tanny I'm bored lol. I bet it won't last much longer being bored though x

HollyBen · 01/09/2014 09:25

How exciting mrsg Good luck! Looking forward to hearing your news xx

fedupofrainydays · 01/09/2014 09:34

Ooooh good luck mrsg

squizita · 01/09/2014 09:49

Yay MrsG exciting! :) hope it goes smoothly whichever way baby decides!

CorporeSarnie · 01/09/2014 10:30

Wow mrsg, what a turn up! I tried to send a longish response to the thread late last night but my phone crashed and then I couldn't be bothered to rewrite it as it was way past my bedtime.
Progressing with getting things ready for the hospital bags, ordering a few bits and clearing the old bits of furniture and detritus in spare rooms, I shredded about 10y worth of old bank statements in an effort to clear room in our filing cabinet yesterday, but shattered now.
baby I don't envy you - I have only been mucking about with three rooms out of a whole house, I can't imagine packing the whole place up at the moment! Good luck for the move today.

Alb1 · 01/09/2014 11:30

How exciting mrsg good luck!

Cuppachaplz · 01/09/2014 12:19

Best of luck today mrsg x

Hoping you're feeling better soon fedup

Thanks for kind words everyone. Headache finally subsiding a little. :) Although, still pins and needles hands and feet and pretty much unable to feels toes and soles of feet now. Gp was concerned re pre eclampsia, but ANC said I'm too early for that. Ooh gp said a uti explained all symptoms (despite no uti symptoms) as I have protein and white cells in urine, but wouldn't tell me why. I have ongoing sterile interstitial cystitis, so will often have WBC in urine and need culture to diagnose infection but she wouldn't explain when I asked about this. Waiting for my own doc to get back to me before beginning atbs, as really don't need thrush as well as everything else!

monkeysocks16 · 01/09/2014 12:38

Hi all, im new to mumsnet and this post, came across it when looking for answers on the net, currently have 1 ds who is 18 months old :) had a very early mc in Feb and we are currently in a state of limbo being 6 weeks preggo now (confirmed by blood and preggo tests) but all ultrasounds both tummy and (joy of joys internal) ones coming up inconclusive and having seriously bad cramps for the past 6 weeks were hoping our next us on thurs is going to show us an actual babba and hb fingers crossed!!! have no real pregnancy symptoms which is freaking me out, last two times my boobs hurt like hell and they haven't so much as changed this time, im rocking the start of a bump already (I know part of it is too much food) but not all of it, I showed pretty quick with ds too, but I keep getting really panniky and anxious, and I don't know why, I know im not exactly calm about the situation but the waves of panic seem to be different to the general worry, im theorising its because we haven't told family yet and im feeling like im hiding something (which does generally send me into a total paniky hot mess - me and secrets are a receipie for disaster!!) but the dr also suggested it could just be a pregnancy sympotom..... oh whoohoo! if this lasts the whole 9 months ill be a wreck! has anyone else experienced this at all or have any clues on how to help calm myself down?! im a bag of nerves anyway and the waves of extra panic are really getting me down, I was so looking forward to being all bright breezy and excited by this pregnancy this is feeling like a right blow!

silverine · 01/09/2014 12:56

Hi all
sorry I've been awol for so long. No real updates. Had my 12 week one stop appt last week but still waiting for harmony results. Should be today or tomorrow. Bricking it!!! Keep replaying scenarios in my head...

good luck today mrsg!!

HollyBen · 01/09/2014 14:00

Sorry to hear you are still in limbo silver.

Welcome monkey. We are no strangers to panic and anxiety here. Fingers crossed for a positive next scan x

GailLondon · 01/09/2014 16:15

Welcome monkeysocks! Anxiety for us women in our situation seems to be almost unavoidable :( things that have helped me have been: getting an early scan, after 12 weeks getting a home doppler to check the heartbeat whenever I want, and apart from that, lots of distractions! In the first trimester I tried to keep organising lots of nice things to do each weekend so the weeks would go past quicker. And plenty of retail therapy! Hope your scan on Thursday goes well x

Just home from my midwife appointment, nothing much going on, good to see some nice high iron levels and low blood pressure! 20 week scan next week!

HollyBen · 01/09/2014 16:30

Good luck mrsG. Here's hoping that baby G makes an appearance soon.

Not much to report here, 16 weeks and feeling less sick and have more energy in the mornings, but afternoons are hard work still. Think I've felt flutterings for the past few days. Would love a stronger kick just to know all is well.

amicablemoomin · 01/09/2014 18:37

welcome monkey. Agree with Gail that the more you can distract yourself (obviously easier said than done) the better. And set yourself small goals. I think the worry and anxiety is part of the course for those of us who have had losses, keep posting here for sanity checks and support.

Glad all going well gail - big milestone coming up for you at 20 weeks.

silverine good luck for those results.

mrsg - can't wait to hear!!!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 01/09/2014 19:39

welcome monkey, no advice other than keeping yourself busy either. Hopefully you aren't as neurotic like me and will calm down once you pass the 12 week milestone!

gail 20 weeks, how exciting!

silverine fingers crossed for your harmony result.

I just have a busy day today again. (Doing what I preach, as in to keep busy)! Been to ikea again to pick up some fitted sheets and a new mirror. And I gave up and bought some maternity jeans from H&M. I was down to one pair of maternity leggings and it's getting far too cold to just wear my summer dresses. I felt stupid buying more maternity clothes at 37 weeks, but what else can I do? Did some pilates afterwards and then I was totally exhausted. It's hard to know when my big day will come because with DD I would have been in labour and in hospital already. So it could be anytime now, or it could be another 4 weeks.
