Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Purplefrogshoes · 13/09/2014 14:05

Thanks missmakes I will hold off until 7/8 as I think they will want me to be scanned because of mp, frantically symptom spotting and knicker checking already, good luck for Tuesday

OneLittleToddleTerror · 13/09/2014 15:23

Afternoon all. I exhausted myself going to an old house in town for the open heritage day! Late pregnancy is just so exhausting. DD was terrified of the house though so I'm glad we didn't pay entrance fee. They have a doll house in the children's activity room which she loved, so it's not all bad.

Welcome purple. I contacted my midwife at 7 weeks because our first booking in appointment here is at 8 weeks. I know what you mean by early scans though. I have a MMC at 12 weeks. I didn't have any early scans as they won't refer me, but then I'm not sure if anything would help except passing the first trimester. But in your case I'm guessing you must be scanned early because of the molar pregnancy?

DH is off to the park with DD and a friend. I'm left here to have my feet up. My bump is feeling very uncomfortable. My eyes are bloodshot too. So maybe what missmakestuff says have some truth in it. My optician also told me our eyes give out more gunk them normal during pregnancy too because of hormonal changes. (I complained about blurry contact lenses to him on a check up). Basically I shouldn't worry unless it's actually painful.

Olive1987 · 13/09/2014 15:24

Thanks everyone :) purple I'm in the same boat too. Not sure when to go to the GP. I want a scan so badly but scared nothing will show this early (or at all). Think it'll wait another week or two.

squizita · 13/09/2014 16:44

Purple see your GP. You should have a viability scan after a molar or ectopic, not just for reassurance but to rule out it's return.

blankfornames · 13/09/2014 16:45

Purple and Olive, I went for a private scan at 7+5 and saw the little jelly bean with the heart flickering away. I didn't go for another one until my 12 week scan. It's a worrying time but just take each day as it comes.

Squiz, I know, I ate olives earlier on and Bean reacted again to them! Although the little movements are infrequent enough, they're so special each time! I hope this uphill walk gets things going in the right direction for you!!

Babytinx11 · 13/09/2014 17:51

Better day today Smile my mum took DS for a bit so I could rest and chill and bless her took him shopping to get the little bits that have been bugging me about the house she also bought some bits for bump which DS decided were for him lol so bump now has a changing table thing with a bath in it which given the size of my new bathroom will be a godsend :) and a pop up travel crib which is really cool and loads bigger than I though they would be lol so feeling a bit happier today I have booked to see the optician next week as I am meant to wear glasses but they aren't helping anything and I am due a re test so we will see :)

Welcome purple & olive

squiz did the curry and pineapple not help :( my friend spent hours in one of those stair climbing machines to try and get into labour with her DS lol coz it meant she could watch tv at the same time lmao not sure if that's what sent her into labour though

Purplefrogshoes · 13/09/2014 19:37

Fingers crossed for you olive I wish I could sleep for 7 weeks, thanks blank baby and one, yeah squizita your right I do need scanned! I will call epu and make appointment, thanks. Hope baby squiz comes soon

OneLittleToddleTerror · 13/09/2014 21:16

My eyes are getting really blood shot. I'm not sure if it's normal for late pregnancy? Would it be silly to ring the community midwife tomorrow if I still have very bloodshot eyes? I haven't got any discomfort but I look like I'm from a horror movie!

Babytinx11 · 13/09/2014 21:17

one no idea but if it's messing with your vision I would call

squizita · 14/09/2014 09:10

One I have itchy eyes. I've heard it's a symptom but give them a ring they can tell you over the phone if it's a problem or just one of those things.

I dreamed my waters broke. Woke up to a dry pad and bubs wiggling about clearly amused by the debacle. Grumble grumble...

OneLittleToddleTerror · 14/09/2014 10:30

Thanks all. It looked a lot better today. I think it's just one of those things with late pregnancy. My bump is so umcomfortable as well. It is hard to describe as it's not painful but minor discomfort no matter how I sit or lie. I'm sure it's the braxton hicks. In the evening when I'm watching tv I notice it goes all hard very regularly. But I'm too busy in the day time to know. For example yesterday I thought I pulled myself picking up DD. I was uncomfortable for an hour. But it's all over the bump so it must be something else but started with picking dd up.

squiz I'm wishing labour would start anytime soon too. I only got to 37 weeks last time and it is not like this. I'm sure it just goes rapidly downhill with discomfort after full term! Met up with a friend with a teenager and she said she only got to 36 weeks so has never experienced the last month either.

fedupofrainydays · 14/09/2014 10:51

So... I'm in hospital. Bout to go to ward. Waters went early hours. Keeping me in on antibiotics as it's prem (36 weeks).
Shit scared - not of labour but of having a tiny baby and possibly complications.

missmakesstuff · 14/09/2014 10:54

Fedup good luck, you're in the best place, they will give steroids etc if it's early to help won't they? Fx everything will be ok, lots of babies are born at 36 weeks and are fine, try not to worry

tannyLoo · 14/09/2014 10:59

Fed up you really are in the best place. DS was born at 38 weeks and was 7.5 lbs. Sure you'll be fine xxx

squizita · 14/09/2014 11:07

Fedup you're in the safest place! And after 34 weeks, although little, our beans are fully formed and can usually hold their own and go home soon. Not like a very premi baby at all -remember 36 weeks means in a few days (not weeks) no one would bat an eyelid at baby coming! :)

GandTnow · 14/09/2014 11:13

Fedup good luck, thinking of you, you're in the best place and they'll look after you both well.

blankfornames · 14/09/2014 13:01

Fedup, I'm echoing everyone when they say that there's no better place to be. You two are safe as houses in there! Best of luck with everything

OneLittleToddleTerror · 14/09/2014 13:43

fedup don't worry. You are 36 weeks. Remember that 37 weeks is already full term. You aren't weeks and weeks away. Your baby might be smaller but everything should be there already. And the hospital is looking after you and your baby. I'm sure both of you would be fine. All the best and take care.

Babytinx11 · 14/09/2014 14:30

fedup your in the best place :) my friend had her dd at 36 weeks day before yesterday and she is 6lbs something and no complications perfectly healthy little lady Smile your only just off being considered term so don't worry too much :) good luck will be thinking of you Flowers

Psmith83 · 14/09/2014 14:35

Welcome Purple! Congratulations on your pregnancy. I also had a MP (complete) and then an early mc at 6 wks. I think I remember you from the molar board. Hmm
As Squiz says you need to get it checked out ASAP, remember every pregnancy is different. I've just seen a HB for my baby at 8 weeks on Thursday- I felt relieved.

I know after having an MP it feels like odds mean nothing, and it can feel like you're the most unlucky person in the world. but realise in reality, that after seeing a HB after 8 weeks your chances of miscarrying drop to 2% according to miscarriage association.
Is there any reason why your GP has not referred you for recurrent miscarriage? After 2mmc and a MP you should be eligible. The nurse at the EPU said they would count my molar as a MC and would refer me for further testing if I had another. Thinking of you.

fedupofrainydays · 14/09/2014 15:19

Thank you ladies. I'm petrified. To makes it worse got added stress of a sick ds and builders at home. Think we are packing him off to grandparents and hope he's ok, but you know when you are ill you just want mummy and daddy.

Just started stressing about everything that could be wrong - from downs to low Papp-a I had at screening. Everything looked ok at anomaly scan, just hope it is and baby is ok.

Going to be monitored again soon as am worried movements have slowed. Mw just checked with Doppler and HB was ok

MrsGiraffe12 · 14/09/2014 15:37

HollyBen · 14/09/2014 16:24

Hi all. Was checking in to see if there was any news from alb?

I know it is easy for me to say fedup but try not to stress. I am sure ds will be fine with his grandparents. My friend had her DDs at 37 and 35 weeks. They are both lovely healthy girls. As the others have said you are in the best place and getting stressed won't change anything. Thinking of you x
