Hi all. Weird question- my belly button feels "softer" than the rest of my bump. It doesn't feel like my abs have separated "all the way" up and down, just a small circle round the outy. Is this anything more worrying than a deeper belly button after?
I was being really strict about no twists, core stretching etc as the bump was so out front!

Babytinx11 · 03/09/2014 20:50

I did try and post yesterday damn I miss internet lol but congrats mrsg

squiz I had that with DS and have a tiny hernia by my belly button now not painful and I've been told nothing to worry about :)

Babytinx11 · 03/09/2014 20:57

Oooh and can we update my edd to the 2nd please Smile

squizita · 03/09/2014 21:23

Oh cool Baby so long as it's small and painless and worry free! :) Thanks!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 03/09/2014 21:45

Good news liesal and cake.

gandt I assume the consultant is going to look at your notes from last time and come up with a plan of care for you when you go into labour? I had a meeting with a consultant too because of my previous labour but I'm still midwife led. Are you midwife or consultant led?

squiz I have no idea. I'm just poking at my tummy and it doesn't feel different around my belly button. It's probably where my placenta is? MW has commented it is high up in the front and I know from my scan notes it's anterior.

fedupofrainydays · 04/09/2014 08:03

g&t it will be to discuss labour and plan for your care to prepare for / prevent what happened last time.
I have consultant appointments to decide mode of delivery after ds birth. After being told I could use the MLU, I now can't - it's labour ward, as if we go for vbac I'm likely to tear again cos of the scar tissue and need a doctor to repair me. All so very encouraging Confused.

squiz not sure but mine was squidgy in earlier pregnancy bump days but now just constantly tight / hard. I've not been careful at all re twists etc (mine also all out front) as kind of impossible when have son to lug about!

Great news liesel and cake!!

GandTnow · 04/09/2014 08:50

Thank you ladies! It's good to know what to expect, but also scary to think about the actual labour! I know this is a bit short sighted- its got to come out somehow!! Blush

Cuppachaplz · 04/09/2014 09:53

That's great news cake, and liesal am loving the awesome positive attitude :D

squiz sounds like something to keep an eye on in case it gets bigger. Can you mention to MW next time yo see them? Small, reducible hernias not a problem, but shouldn't progress xx

gandt good luck with that appointment! yep! It has to come out somehow! Funny how we (this thread) are so reluctant to believe that will happen. I always seem to shut down when birth choices are mentioned, thinking, 'well, let's get there first, eh?'

Still feeling rotten with leg cramps being added to the mix of numb feet / hands and headache, but mahoosive baby kicks, and vomiting stopped :) MW still not called me back, so left another message. South Wales in chaos at the moment, so she's probably MIT answering call in case Obama gives birth or something...FFS!
Spoke to my boss yesterday, who was lovely. Sorting out a plan to cut back my hours and reduce load etc, chasing that up today.

Sticky hugs and waves to all x

silverine · 04/09/2014 18:57

Cuppa sorry to hear you are still feeling unwell... good the vomiting has stopped but unbelievable lack of care from the health professionals, by the sound of it!! Are you still going to work with all that going on?? Surely they would sign you off until you feel better.. Hugs and get well soon. X

squizita · 04/09/2014 19:09

G&T I had a meeting but in the end they said all was OK with my plan, so it doesn't always mean there is a clinical reason you can't vb.

Cuppa will mention to her ... unless the next time I see her I'm dilating n contracting! Grin Bit late then!
Hope you find that awol mw soon and feel better!!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 04/09/2014 21:30

squizita hope you are dilating and contracting soon. I'm just feeling utterly miserable now. I think from around Monday I couldn't even touch the floor bending forward anymore without hurting. And tonight I just sat on the sofa with my cervix feeling like it's going to fall off. I honestly do not remember it being this bad last time. It could be that I went into labour at 37+3 and hence bypassed this late pregnancy phase. Or I have just blocked it all out.

I wonder how alb is doing.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 04/09/2014 21:31

cuppa'whats happening in South Wales?

liesal79 · 05/09/2014 08:16

Cuppa - Sorry to hear Obama is taking preference over you!! Put your foot down and keep calling!! I would!

Positive halo has slipped today - I had a day of not many kicks yesterday, and the ones I felt weren't very strong. Did the ice cold drink etc, and a few kicks - but again not as strong! I know the logical reason is he has moved towards my back, but I can't help but worry - Am at work this morning and had a few kicks - but why can't I just be calmer in this situation! I hate feeling like this - I just want to relax and enjoy this! Argh!

GandTnow · 05/09/2014 09:06

Thanks for the information about Consultant app - will have to start thinking about what I want to happen (and not to happen) this time!

Squizita how far on are you? I got a massive bump when I went overdue with DD - don't remember tummy button feeling different, but I think once you're huge it all goes a bit strange! Confused

One sorry you're having a tough time x

Had a very bad night last night where it felt like all my joints were ceasing up in bed. Today I have no energy and keep going all hot and sweaty. The MW I saw yesterday is not my fav and seemed to dismiss my question about circulation in bed. Does this all sound normal? Did anyone else have this at 16 weeks ish?

Hope everyone has a positive day today xx

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/09/2014 09:22

g&t not sure if it's normal at 16 weeks. But it's been a bit hotter lately, and I'm all hot and sweaty. I also have times when my calf muscle ceased up. I guess it depends on how often it is happening?

Gwlondon · 05/09/2014 09:35

GandTnow I don't remember exactly when but with DS I had to start putting a cushion between my knees to sleep to help my hips feel stable. Then went on to the pregnancy pillow. Is it your hip joints or other joints?

squizita · 05/09/2014 09:38

39 weeks and bump is ALL front. The soft bit surrounds what was my inny iyswim.

Cuppachaplz · 05/09/2014 10:12

Thanks everyone. NATO summit here, so general chaos of closed roads/public services, although rather confused as to why midwives are affected :/ excuse the cynical and snarky comments.
gandt I'm 24w and my circulation feels shitty; that's what I've been trying to ask all week. And it gas gone hot and close.
liesal hoping you're feeling better soon x
squiz and onelittle hoping the last few days past swiftly for you both.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/09/2014 10:14

cuppa I was thinking surely it couldn't have anything to do with Obama surely. I didn't know Michelle was pregnant and needed midwifery service!

Cuppachaplz · 05/09/2014 10:29

LOL.
There are warships docked in Cardiff bay in case Obama requires treatment as NHS not good enough, apparently.
Everyone else in the county has been seconded to flag waving duties ;) x

tannyLoo · 05/09/2014 10:34

G&T I'm 14+3 and my joints are starting to loosen up, I can feel it a lot at night, particularly my hips and wrists, but I get arthritic joint pain in winter anyway. I've also been hot and getting pins and needles in bed, and the last couple of days have been knocked sideways by tiredness, including breathlessness and dizziness when getting up. I am self-employed, and just haven't been able to work for weeks now, as I was sick and exhausted in first tri. God knows how we're going to cope financially if this keeps up.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/09/2014 10:37

Forgot to mention I had a dream genie pillow from my first pregnancy. It's very comfy to sleep with.

Gwlondon · 05/09/2014 10:41

Yes mine was a dream genie too

MrsGiraffe12 · 05/09/2014 11:18

Hi all
Just an update from me whilst the little lady sleeps!

We're still in hospital, I have infection down below and am on antibiitics so chose to stay as they take care of you well here.

Baby girl is feeding like a trouper, about 45 mins a time every 3 hours at the moment

We have chose to name her Olivia as she shares a birthday with my nan who died last year xx
