MrsG, congratulations! It must be wonderful to have your daughter in your arms after all you've been through. Thanks. Hope you recover soon with stitches and so one. Def use badedas in your bath, totally worth the extra cost to help with the soothing!!!

silverine · 02/09/2014 12:44

It's all clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

silverine · 02/09/2014 12:45

And it's a boy!!!

MrsGiraffe12 · 02/09/2014 13:17

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

I feel like I've been in a car wreck. I never realised childbirth would be quite so horrendous! Though in fairness I didn't really feel the tear happening, just burning but now it's all tight and stuff from being sewn up my god does it hurt. I'm still standing by never again on having more babies. But it wasn't as painful as I imagined it to be.

Probably won't be coming home today as I've asked to see a lactation consultant as she's not latching on quite right and I can't see one till tomorrow xx

silverine · 02/09/2014 13:35

Thank you all for the good wishes! So happy! We'd better start believing now that we'll be having a baby! I will even add myself to the stats list. If anyone's adding mrsg and baby g, could you also add me please
silverine: no DCs, 1 MMC at 10 weeks, 1 MC at 8 weeks, 1 CP/early MC; EDD 1 March 2015

14 weeks 1 day today. Have a heart scan booked for 18 september but the nt might just dissipate as well, so we'll have to wait and see.
mrsg massive heartfelt congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby girl! Look forward to learning the name. Hope you get home soon to enjoy this special time. Thanks
Alb and one hope you're not far behind mrsg. X

CorporeSarnie · 02/09/2014 14:12

Congrats silver, hope you can enjoy just being pregnant for a good long time now, and that the rest of this pregnancy flies by uneventfully.
mrsg, I have been saying for the whole of the third trimester that this is the last time I am doing this - I have become one of those whinging pregnant ladies, although to be fair if I'd had a less eventful 2nd tri I might be a bit less mardy about it all (note might).
Congratulations on the new baby girl, and hope that the tear has been well-repaired. Don't let them fob you off about latching - as long as you're not too fed up with being on the Ward stay there until you're happy she's not shredding you; I let them discharge me too soon last time as being on a multibed ward with (other people's) visitors constantly coming in and out between 9am and 9pm had got too much for me - I should really have stayed and then I might not have got so much grief from MWs and HVs re: feeding.
afm, babySarnie is doing who knows what in there today, moving around like crazy, either headbutting me or pushing its bottom at my ribs (from last time the former seems most likely), and simultaneously kicking/punching away.

ilovechops · 02/09/2014 14:38

Congratulations mrsg fab news on the arrival of baby girl! I had a bad bad tear with DD and can sympathise with the pain and feeling like I had been In A car crash. It's overwhelmingly exhausting and hit me for six. In a week the scar will feel a lot better and in a few weeks should be healing up ok. It's not a nice thing to go through at all and I think people are unaware and unprepared (I was). I also used a sitz bath from Nct website which helped a lot.

Congrats silver amazing news for you! Hope you're relaxing into the weeks ahead now.

baby well done on the move, we are hearing up for ours in 2 weeks! Loads to do!

I need a fish slap today. I'm 11 wks and had a perfectly good scan last week but today I'm stressing. Basically over the weekend I felt huge. Tummy really swelled up and was doing jeans up with hair bobble / very bloated and prego looking in evening. I also thought I felt baby moving. I know it is hugely early but I felt DD early ish at 15 wks early for first so thought perhaps it was and also I know what It feels like. Anyway that's stopped, boobs a lot less sore and tummy seems deflated and more 'normal' just a bit fat. I don't know what to do. No pain or bleeding but worried sick :-( nausea still sort of there, been reducing gradually really. Please help I feel like it's all over and crying but I don't know why?!

squizita · 02/09/2014 14:50

I slept till about 12.30pm and now feel actually human again. Still no more labour sympton here, so I think baby has decided to stay for a bit longer. Late pregnancy is just soooo uncomfortable. Squiz I'll join in the contantly need to wee camp. I have refused to go anywhere that doesn't have a toilet nearly now. It's that grim.

fedup sorry to hear about the low BP. I can't remember if you are working? If so when are you off work? It felt much better once I stopped having to commute and work. I've turned into a right slob Hmm

ilove hang in there, when are you booked for your 12 week scan?

Cakebaker35 · 02/09/2014 17:27

Great news silver loving the good news on the thread today Smile

And to those of you worrying and stressing, hand holds and minnow slaps as needed, some days are just so bloody hard!

20 wk scan tomorrow, it was meant to be a few days ago but got cancelled due to staff sickness, grrrrrr! I'm very nervous but also just desperate to have it now, just need to see what's going on in there!

InternetFOREVER · 02/09/2014 17:33

Congratulations Mrs G and babyG! And silverine too - hopefully you'll get to relax a bit now.
I Love I think symptoms/ bumps/ bloat come and go all the time, and without any bleeding there's no reason for your baby to actually be shrinking so its probably just the first tri bloat going, or things shifting around in there. Stressful though!
I've been lurking for a while, on a rollercoaster of being convinced everything has gone wrong, then getting my hopes up again. Had a good 10 week scan last week though, and got the date through for 12 week scan, next week. After that it might all seem more real and I'll add myself to the stats list!
Hope everyone ok today... today we are pregnant! (Except for you, Mrs G!)

tannyLoo · 02/09/2014 18:35

After my scan last week, my EDD was moved forward a week, so I've changed my date, and it means that we have a lovely run of due dates in March!

Ilove, I really understand, in fact almost exactly the same thing happened to me at 10 weeks. I spoke to EPU, who offered a reassurance scan on the basis that I was never to tell anyone (oops). I went in the next morning, blubbed like a wet fish, had a scan and saw a wonderful wriggling, content babs. Felt very embarrassed, but incredibly relieved. Symptoms returned a couple of days later, and are now starting to subside a bit.

Hope that helps. Call someone if you're properly worried, I'm sure they will understand x

HollyBen · 02/09/2014 18:49

Brilliant news silver I am so relieved for you.

ilove my symptoms lessened at around 10 weeks too.I have read it is related to the placenta taking over

TeaRex · 02/09/2014 19:58

Hi all, having massive internet problems so have been/will be a bit off radar for a couple of weeks as will only be able to get on every now and then.

Massive congratulation to silver and mrsg

And hugs and slaps to those who need them :)

SuzyBean · 02/09/2014 20:04

Congratulations Mrs G and silver great news to hear all is well with you both.

Mrs G my words of advice would be to be careful if you have been prescribed iron tablets following baby G's birth as they usually cause constipation which from personal experience I can say does not go well with stitches!!!

amicablemoomin · 02/09/2014 22:08

mrsg massive congratulations, wonderful news! Please let us know how you get on and what name you decide on for your gorgeous girl. Fantastic. Hopefully not long now Alb and Squizita!

Silver great news also, you must be thrilled.

one thanks so much for the link and info, will keep with the calomine - it is just discomfort rather than serious medical need so will grit teeth and continue.

A hug to all those having a hard day.

silverine · 02/09/2014 22:26

Thank you all lovely ladies for the kind word! Thanks

Cuppachaplz · 02/09/2014 22:43

Mahoosive congrats mrsg, hoping you heal quickly! and that you are baby giraffe are home soon xx

silver fantastic news. Hoping you can relax and enjoy now xx

ilove symptoms come and go! especially as one enters the 2nd trimester, hoping you get some reassurance soon xx

baby glad to hear move uneventful! and that you're getting organised.

sqiz and onelittle moving into the drop zone! best wishes both x

Chaos here, DS 1st day at high school, so he's super excitable. Hoping for calm soon... Fed up of people commenting on the age gap. I feel like pointing out that it's quite tricky to fit 15 mcs, rampant endometriosis, an intractable womb infection and 2 surgeries after botched c section into much less than a decade. Or even just, 'f**k off, it's none if your business', but seem to settle for smugly commenting that I will have a free babysitter in a couple of years...
Still numb feet, pins and needles hands and headache, but no explanation, but been advised to cut my hours at work. I have a meting with my boss tomorrow to discuss...
Personally I can't help thinking its stress related, and once I get some answers re the brain lesion everything will settle down.
Hugs to all xx

amicablemoomin · 03/09/2014 08:04

good luck with your meeting with work cuppa, hopefully they will be very sympathetic and helpful. Do you they know anything of your history? I cut my hours and I must say for me it has made a huge difference (and I don't have any DCs to deal with!). hope it goes well and all is ok with your DC1 - big step!

Apart from the babysitter, there is something very special about having a larger age gap I think - they will adore each other and interact in a way that isn't possible when they are close in age with similar needs.

liesal79 · 03/09/2014 11:16

Hi All -

Good to see everyones good news. I had my consultant apt today and have been reffered to the person with the drugs & needles - I can't spell it. and booked in for 3 growth scans. Feeling positive today, as he heard little mans heartbeat!
Today - things are good! :)

Cakebaker35 · 03/09/2014 16:39

Hello all, kits popping in after our 20 wk scan, all is well, placenta no longer low lying and it's a boy! Dd has been saying she wants a baby brother so it seems she may just get her wish. I'm just about starting to believe this might actually happen now!

Hope everyone is having a good day x

squizita · 03/09/2014 17:25

Great news Cake! :)

GandTnow · 03/09/2014 19:13

Lovely news cake!

I've got my 16 week MW app tomorrow and I'm hoping she'll be able to suggest some things to do to stop my hip feeling like its going to fall off whenever I walk for too long or pick anything up (including DD!)

Also, I've got a Consultant app at the end of the month because I lost a lot blood when in labour with DD - its a little hazy so can't really remember what happened. What should I expect from this appointment?
