I'm so tempted to get ds2s clothes out of the attic again, but then what if it's a girl? I don't want to sell his baby clothes yet, all 4 x 50 l tubs of them! We are now having the debate, to know or not to know, that's the question.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 14/08/2014 20:46

davidtennantmistress hopefully you can relax a bit more now, and maybe have a bit of sex tonight too Wink. baby that woman is hilarious. fedup i have a prenatal visit from the HV earlier this week and she told me I should start packing my hospital bag! I haven't got the suitcase down but have got some newborn nappies and maternity pads. I've also finished washing all the baby vests and babygros. That's a good start isn't it? I still have to buy breastpads and I forgot to add it to my last amazon order Sad. I'm definitely slowly getting things done now though. Today I managed to clean the infant carseat and put the newborn insert back in. hollyben keep telling yourself that you are still pregnant. The next week is going to be hard. Try to keep yourself busy with non-baby stuff and hopefully your morning sickness isn't too bad.

I went for my growth scan today. Everything is measuring within the normal range, except the weight being on 10% line. (i.e. smallest 10%). The only thing they were concerned about was that the head circumference is at 50% while the abdominal circumference is lower (I think it's 25%). So I had wait in the hospital while they find a doctor to look at the scan result. Obviously I used dr google to see what that meant! Shouldn't have looked as it told me it's a sign of IUGR. It's the asymmetric type which means there's a placental problem. It didn't help I was already thinking I have a rubbish placenta. Later a registrar came back and said that it's still all within normal levels, and since the blood transfer is good, I'm still under midwife care. But the midwife can refer me back to another growth scan after my 36 weeks appointment. It's good news they weren't alarmed by the difference in head and abdominal circumference, but I couldn't help but worry about it Sad. So fish slap needed here please.

Babytinx11 · 14/08/2014 20:56

davidtennant DH is too impatient to wait till baby is born to find out I suggested we waited and the sulk was epic would have made DS proud lol. That is btw allot of baby clothes your storing

MrsGiraffe12 · 14/08/2014 21:51

Off to labour ward I go. Been having Braxton hicks all day on and off but in last few hours they've been getting more regular and painful and my back is killing me. Midwifes want me to come in for monitering!

Expect to be sent home but somewhat hopeful that it's labour. Will be 37 weeks on Sunday :-)

Alb1 · 14/08/2014 22:29

MrsGiraffe12 · 14/08/2014 22:55

Thanks all. Just on moniters at mo to see what's what with baby's heart etc. Not dilated but am thinning out. Yet to see what's going to be said regarding pains and if it's proper contractions or not. Going to be here a while regardless. Will update when I can :-)

Hello ladies, can i join you . . again.

I was on this thread earlier this year but miscarried at the start of March at 10 weeks. This is my fifth pregnancy, I have one beautiful ds who is five and have had two mmc at 11 and 10 weeks and a cp.

I'm hoping that this sticks as I'm 38 and feel that time is running out to have another child. My ds is desperate for a sister (a sister in particular, if only it was that easy . . put your order in and there we go!) and it breaks my heart every time he asks when she'll be arriving Sad.
So I'm 5 + 5 wks and panicking at every twinge and on constant boob poking and knicker watch . . I'm also on my third week of a new job, sods law hey.

fedupofrainydays · 15/08/2014 07:18

hV don't do a visit in my area pre birth, just after. So that's interesting others get one!

Good luck mrsg sounds exciting!

Hi suzy I remember you from both ttc thread and here earlier this year. Fx this is your sticky one.

TeaRex · 15/08/2014 07:30

silver sorry to hear that you're having to go for more tests but I hope the harmony one brings you a good result x how are feeling today?

baby your husbands work colleague sounds like a witch, hope you're taking done comfort from the fact she's not well liked by a lot of people, shows none if it is in your head or an over reaction :)

squiz how are the braxton hicks?

david great news about your scan! Very happy for you :)

mrsg hope you're well and baby g is behaving in there ;) x

Asfm, had my 20 week scan yesterday, baby is absolutely fine! :) have to have a scan at 32 weeks to check the position of the placenta and baby's growth as could be a big one :/ but we're really happy. Also we found out it's a boy so feels real now and I'm genuinely excited now everything's okay :) xxx

Oh and welcome suzy got everything crossed for you xxx

OneLittleToddleTerror · 15/08/2014 07:39

mrsg are you still in the labour ward? The HV just came to introduce herself, asked a bunch of questions (is this a wanted baby etc), gave me a bunch of brochures on local baby clinics. She also told me she will be in touch again after I'm discharged by the community MW.

tearex congrats on your 20 week scan.

welcome suzy

MrsGiraffe12 · 15/08/2014 07:53

Hi all.
Doctors have just been round and are sending me home.
The contractions are not regular enough or strong enough to be classed as established labour and I'm still not dilating. Aparently it's slow labour so the real thing could kick off at any time though which is positive :-) thanks for all the support last night though!

Great news david on the scan

And suzy welcome back, I remember you from earlier in the year. Congratulation on the BFP, and I'm crossing very thing for you that this is a sticky bean x

Hi all
Congrats on great scans happily and tearex! Thanks for checking with me tea! Harmony booked for Tue. Apparently their scan machines are much more advanced and accurate and they will do all the blood too, so will get a much more informed probability. So at the moment I'm hoping it is just a mistake! Blush At the hospital the other day they just did the NT measurement. I was told there was no point doing the bloods as they were sure it would come back high probability! Shock

silverine · 15/08/2014 08:34

P.S. welcome suzy, keeping everything crossed for you! Thanks

MrsGiraffe12 · 15/08/2014 08:35

silver that's shocking they didn't do the bloods too! Surely as part of the Down's syndrome screening they are meant to?
Good luck with the harmony anyway x

OP posts:
OneLittleToddleTerror · 15/08/2014 08:45

silverine I agree that your NHS trust is shocking not to do the bloods at all. I think you are much better off going private and redo the 12 week scan and bloods, and the harmony.

amicablemoomin · 15/08/2014 08:45

hi everyone, sorry not to be posting too often, am trying to keep up! mrsg how exciting, even if no baby G just yet it sounds like everything is ramping up!

squiz and alb not too long for you guys either!

I'm now 22 weeks and finally got a small defined bump (rather than just general fat!!!), but no kicks yet.

Welcome to suzy and fingers crossed this is a sticky one!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 15/08/2014 08:53

amicable don't worry, you'll start feeling kicks from 23-24 weeks. Enjoy your second trimester. It's the best.

Babytinx11 · 15/08/2014 09:36

Exciting stuff mrsg sounds like it won't be long till baby g is here :)

Welcome suzy fingers crossed for a sticky one for you :)

tearex fab news about your scan :) and yea it's allot of comfort that no one likes her it seems the only reason she is still there is they can't find a reason to sack her hoping that changes soon of DH gets the job he just applied for :)

silver good luck for your harmony scan fingers crossed for good news :)

missmakesstuff · 15/08/2014 09:56

I need a bucket of fish...

I have slight cramps tummy and a starfish pain just by my hip, plus wiped and got some very light browny pink discharge.

Panicking because my in laws ate here, like last time, it's Friday, like last time, and we are off to the cinema like last time! I told dh we needed to tell the old's as we hadn't told them last ttime and I had to have the mc within staying, not saying anything. Also it's a family barbeque tomorrow, same as last time, we had to cancel.

Lots of Brown blood now. Really truly fucked aren't I?

missmakesstuff · 15/08/2014 09:57

Starfish?! Sharpish! Really hate my bloody Phone!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 15/08/2014 10:01

It's just brown blood missmake stop panicking. And it's just coincidence that your in laws are coming and the family bbq. I know you can't stop worrying. But try to keep positive. And if you need to take yourself away from them, then do tell your DH. Say you aren't feeling well or something? I assume they don't know yet?
