Hand holding, fish slapping and general bat shit craziness :-)

Cakebaker35 · 05/08/2014 20:23

No fish slaps from me baby, just a un-mn hug x as others have said, we all feel the same from time to time. I'd hoped by now to have snapped out of it (16+1) but I'm still having days of feeling utter doom, then other days of it'll be ok, and so on. Bloody rollercoaster isn't it?!

Had my 16 wk midwife appt today, all fine and great to hear heartbeat again. I'm now a full week without another bleed but I'm still expecting another sometime, I think I'll always be expecting more as I'm averaging one a week. Incredibly anxious some days, others doing ok, I think much like everyone on this thread.

Wishing all those worrying a restful evening and tomorrow will feel brighter x

blankfornames · 05/08/2014 20:38

Evening y'all. Just to say that we had an amazing 12 wk scan today! Our Bean did a 180 somersault for the camera!

Baby, I went in today expecting bad news and was very surprised at how great everything is. Try & be positive & how things look brighter for you in the morning.

Happilymarried155 · 05/08/2014 20:47

That's great news blank I bet your so relieved!

I go through bouts of being excited about my 12 week scan on Friday too feeling terrified! I think it's such a huge milestone when you have had a previous miscarriage!

Boozle80 · 05/08/2014 22:08

Hi everyone, sounds like there's been some really good scan news going on. I'm on holiday in deepest darkest Ireland and have completely convinced myself I've got a blighted ovum - I don't have any symptoms at all. Got a scan booked in for 6+5 for Monday next week so I suppose all will become clear then. I feel like a neurotic mess! Argh!

Hope everyone's had a good Tuesday and all is looking well and happy :)

Babytinx11 · 05/08/2014 22:09

I didn't expect it to be so hard or scary this time every other time I've been able to look at it as a new start a new baby but it's playing on me all the time sat here in tears and I don't know why :( DH is on another late shift and I can't sleep think I'll raid the ice cream and watch some rubbish tv. Thank you guys it's always good to know it's not just me :)

Boozle80 · 05/08/2014 22:16

Oh baby it's rubbish isn't it. No fish slaps from me - I had a mmc last time and can't trust my body at all anymore. It's the most horrible feeling of a knot in your stomach all the time. I'm sure at the scan you're going to be able to take a deep breath and smile at your baby wiggling round for you but it's almost impossible to imagine that now isn't it?!

Think I may join you for the ice-cream!

fedupofrainydays · 05/08/2014 22:27

I've just had some ice cream too!

Great to hear such great scan news. And also to hear from saggy! So pleased to hear you and lucy are doing well.

So I'm still paranoid as well. Still checking for blood and monitoring movements like a crazy woman. Somehow it never goes away. Hang in there ladies... The first tri is definitely the worst for this in terms of not feeling anything / not seeing any thing - just wondering if all is ok in there. Each day feels like a month.
My first mmc was also at 12 weeks - a blighted ovum. Hated my body. It lied to me I was pregnant for 12 weeks. And all there was was an enormous sac. But I felt pregnant. Had ms and tiredness, the works. Made me also not trust anything my body did after that. So I totally get how you feel.

I'm on proper count down now. 8 days left at work. (Work 3 days a week). Getting more real. Eeeek.

HollyBen · 05/08/2014 22:35

Must be the night for ice cream as I also had some earlier!

No more brown cm for me after this morning. Hoping that it was just one of those things and there will be no more

Babytinx11 · 05/08/2014 22:54

Ben and jerrys cookie dough with chocolate sauce :) thank you guys it really helps knowing it's not just me think I may attempt some work tomorrow take my mind off things

KeepingTheFaith9 · 06/08/2014 04:43

Dear ladies.

Sorry for silence - last 3 days have been eventful! I delivered our baby girl at 29 weeks at 3.24am on Saturday morning by emergency caesarian section.

She is in the neo natal unit and breathing with help. I am recovering from surgery at home, after 4 days in hosp and the trauma of it all.

As you might imagine - this has all been a tremendous shock and we are all still processing things.

Our baby girl is beautiful but only weighed 2.5lbs and is likely to be in hospital for some time yet. It's going to be a long path for her but we are hopeful she will grow and improve daily.

Had a lovely 2 hour cuddle with my daughter today ! Will do same tomorrow and soon if she keeps improving we can start helping to change and wash her. Will visit hospital every day now.

A few of you may recall my aversion to breast feeding (first time Mum
that I am) This has all changed!! I am now expressing milk at home (can you believe the body can produce milk for a baby even when it comes 10 weeks early?)

Right now it is hard to be a proper Mummy - but I am proud to be able to do this.

I have some good pain relief too. I am slow but more mobile than at first, the next part of the journey begins...

Good luck to you all. Pregnancy is a truly remarkable thing - and as we all know, the twists and turns along the way are extremely challenging!

Just making a baby that stayed put for me has been an enormous achievement after my miscarriage last July.

We have a long road ahead of us, but I am Keeping the Faith

It is now time for me to leave this thread (I was just a relatively brief visitor as you know - but thought I would drop in and say goodbye rather than disappear!)

I wish you all the VERY best of luck in your pregnancies and thank you for sharing hopes and fears - it was really comforting to have been part of your experiences.

Take care all, and take care of your little beans (you never know how early they might drop by!!)

Goodbye lovely ladies.
Love Keeping and the very early baby K xxx

tannyLoo · 06/08/2014 05:27

Keeping, congratulations! I know you'd have preferred she stay put for a while longer, but so pleased she's OK.

Well done, and enjoy getting to know your baby!

blankfornames · 06/08/2014 06:55

Wow! Congratulations Keeping! I hope your beautiful little daughters stay in hospital isn't a long one. Thanks so much for taking the time out to fill us in & write such a lovely message.
All the best & well done! x

TeaRex · 06/08/2014 07:02

Congratulations keeping your daughter is obviously a little fighter so I hope she puts on weight well and you're all home together before you know it x

Gwlondon · 06/08/2014 08:00

Congratulations keepingthefaith9! Hope your baby gets better soon so you can bring her home. Good luck with the expressing.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 06/08/2014 08:01

keeping hope you and your little girl are ok. It must be a shock to go into labour at 29 weeks. And you are right about pregnancy and birth being a remarkable thing. We'll do anything that we think best for our babies. All the best to you and your little one.

cuppa I'm glad you and your husband has come to a mutual decision about the amnio. All the best with your little bean too.

fedup how exciting! 8 more days to go. I just started my maternity leave this week and have been super busy getting things ready. DH and I went to ikea and bought a cot and a children wardrobe. Also a bunch of smaller stuff like cot sheets etc. I'm waiting for DH to assemble the wardrobe and then I can start washing the clothes (no where to put them atm). Have also got the hospital bag to pack, and getting the car seat and travel system ready. And then there are all the non baby stuff like hair cut, MOT etc. But it's all getting very real now. I'm only 33 weeks, so I'm expecting another 4 weeks before baby arrives. But I'm anxious about premature labour too, and I'm sure a lot of us are here. So that's why I'm really trying to get my act together and get everything ready.

Nice to hear all the good scan news too.

Cakebaker35 · 06/08/2014 08:06

Amazing news keeping, hope you are all home together very soon. Do pop back sometime and let us know how you are x

TeaandHobnobs · 06/08/2014 08:10

Congratulations Keeping and welcome baby K! Thanks
Make sure you take care of yourself, eat as well as you can, and get what sleep you can around your expressing schedule - it is very easy to run yourself ragged when visiting your baby in neonatal every day. I hope you've got other people who can support you at home? Someone to help with shopping/cooking etc?
It is a tough road but you will all get through it. Don't be afraid to ask for support if you are feeling overwhelmed. There's a premature birth forum on here too which you can always turn to for advice and support.
Thinking of you and your lovely baby Thanks

MrsGiraffe12 · 06/08/2014 08:58

saggyandlucy great to hear from you and so glad you and Lucy are doing well xx

keepingthefaith congratulations on the birth of baby K! Having a baby in NICU is a terrifying but surreal experience. In my experience NICU staff are great and really reassuring at anything you need or have to ask, and NICU baby's are often very hardy and tough when they are bigger. My DS was 8 weeks early and was 2 and half pounds when he was born so if you have any questions at all please do PM me. It may seem a long time whilst your there but by the time you bring baby home it seems too soon if that makes sense x
