Yes Baby several of my scans were with consultants.
I lined up, had the scan, they gave me a print out and sent one to the consultant who presumably read it and digested it while I waited (about 30 min) and then I saw him. He then went through what it all meant and checked my meds etc. In my case it was all straightforward every time. He saw what he wanted to see and told me all was OK.

Happilymarried155 · 02/08/2014 21:29

I know! It really feels like a huge break through but il feel much better after our scan! As always!

I have first consultant appointment at 16 weeks I think, still waiting for it to come through! X

Davidtennantmistress · 03/08/2014 07:17

Morning! Mil is visiting this week, I'm 10+5 today feeling sticky, and guilty,

How many of you are still taking your multi vitamins? I keep forgetting and averaging every other day I should take it more shouldn't i? When do you stop?

blankfornames · 03/08/2014 07:33

Funny you mentioned the multi vits Davids. I dread taking them so for the past two days have only taken my folic acid. Must get back into taking them again.
I have my scan on Tue morn along with the consultant doing bloods, taking history & all the rest. They told me to allow 3 and half hours for app. Can't believe it's come down to 2 sleeps! I have a fear that during the scan they'll tell me this whole 12 wk pregnancy has been my imagination! Not sleeping as a result!
Best of luck to you all with scans this week. Hope it's a sticky wk for everyone & don't mean the weather!

TeaandHobnobs · 03/08/2014 08:30

Hello all Smile good to catch up with everyone - any news on MrsGiraffe? Sorry about the anxiety rearing its ugly head squiz hope you start to feel better on that front.
Had my booking in appt on Wednesday - I was worried the MW was going to be stern/unhelpful, but I couldn't have been more wrong, she was absolutely lovely. She didn't bat an eyelid when I said I wanted to use the hospital in my home town (20 miles away) rather than the default one here (10 miles away). So she has sent the paperwork off to them, and hopefully I will get a letter soon about going for booking in bloods and the 12wk scan. I'm going to be under shared care due to DS' prem birth, so I feel a bit more comforted about that.
Got a private scan tomorrow. My symptoms are fairly strong at the moment (so fed up of feeling sick), but of course I am still worried. Trying to be brave!
Wishing you all a quiet and calm Sunday Thanks

Babytinx11 · 03/08/2014 09:40

Thanks squiz feel better about it now to be h

Babytinx11 · 03/08/2014 09:46

(I have to stop doing this on my phone) * to be honest now I
Just want my 12 week app to hurry up and hopefully for ms to start going away soon hoping next week it will start easing.

david I am just taking pregnacare after mw told me that I don't need to take folic acid and pregnacare because the both have the same amount of folic acid in the but the pregnacare has vitamin D in it which I have never taken in pregnancy before but apparently your meant to.

Today I am looking forward to a day laying on the sofa while DS watches cartoons and or trashes my house but feeling lousy so planning on doing minimal today

squizita · 03/08/2014 09:59

I found actual pregnacare made me feel sick and constipated. This brand are cheaper and work just as well, for me they didn't have all those side effects:
www.sanatogenpregnancy.co.uk/en/sanatogen-pregnancy-range/sanatogen-mum-to-be/

Waves to all!

Had a massive wobble last night. Went out to dinner, then was tired so went to bed earlier than usual and my baby wasn't moving. Had a big panic before I realised it was earlier than the usual 'just before bed' bout of kicks and fuss.
Bubs has kicked and wiggled several times through the night (inlcuding my 2am and 4am loo breaks LOL) and I've had 3 bouts today. :)

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/08/2014 10:20

teaandhobnobs thanks for thinking of me :-) I'm well thankyou, 35 weeks today and still very much pregnant still. Ended up at the hospital on Friday as had back pain an period pain and baby was being unusually quiet. They queiried about labour to begin with but aparently I just have a UTI. Pre eclampsia is still being fairly well controlled, no more protien and BP is still ok considering. Got to have more blood taken this week though to check kidney function so we will see. I'm taking each day as it comes and just thank my lucky stars I'm now 3 weeks more pregnant than when DS was born so chances are baby won't need the high level NICU he did if it came now.

Hope everyone is well and that bumps are thriving xx

MrsG glad it was just a scare! I've just realised that I'll be in 'the zone' in 3 weeks time EEK!! Shock

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/08/2014 10:46

squiz I've only 2 weeks left now till I'm considered "full term" (as in 37 weeks) I'm rather scared now, whatever happens it's c section though which is fine but it's the unknown date due to pre eclampsia that's scary x

OP posts:
Babytinx11 · 03/08/2014 13:01

squiz might switch and try the ones you suggested I am taking the tesco version of pregnacare plus at the moment which is according to my midwife pregnacare in a different box but the other stuff sounds good I never thought my vitamin could be making me feel rough but I'll try a new one see if it helps.

Glad things are still going good mrsg :)

TeaRex · 03/08/2014 16:42

Hi! Hope everyone's weekends been okay? Can't believe it's fecking Monday again tomorrow :( I'm so so tired, I just want to sleep all the time!
Sorry to hear people are having a few scares, pregnancy after mc is absolutely nerve shredding :/

I take my vitamins just before bed, got into this habit when pregnant with my dd as I threw up so much, taking them then sleeping was the only way I didn't bring them back up. Also having them in the bathroom by my toothbrush means I can't forget them :)

squizita · 03/08/2014 20:11

Thanks for the reminder- gotta take my vitamin too!

Got a scan tomorrow. Usual scan fear even though (a) I'm up to the usual place on my kick-counter and (b) I don't feel unwell or anything.

Fuming at the room which will be the nursery though. One big pile of disasters like fawlty towers. Basically 2-3 weeks ago, we bought some paint to just freshen it up...
-discovered previous owners had papered over damaged plaster
-Plasterer fixed, discovered the wall was part wood (!!) meaning it it prone to cracking anyway
-When moving the radiator for the plasterer, we found there was a whole system issue with the central heating that needed fixing/boiler repairing
-the paint was terrible (own brand, false economy) so took days and layers to look decent
-The carpet was full of fine dust. Just when we're ready to clean, our £250 Dyson carks it. Angry DH thinks it is the fine dust from the plaster, I think it is the Dyson being a bit old.

DH is buying a new vacuum tomorrow. It better bloody work. 6 months in the parents' room they say? Maybe if we don't get this room fixed pronto. Future minisquiz will be in the Moses basket till her high school prom!!

Babytinx11 · 03/08/2014 20:43

Oh dear squiz that doesn't sound fun :( good luck for your scan tomorrow :)

Alb1 · 03/08/2014 21:31

squiz that decorating sounds a nightmare! I had a scan yesterday and the scan doom was in full force up until I saw the hb on the screen, luckily all was good, the baby is measuring about a week and a half ahead so is big already but all in proportion and perfect looking. He's currently back to back but I'm just hoping hel move round when the head engages.

mrsG glad it was just a scare and that your pre-eclampsia isn't too bad at the min. Will they be able to give you a c-section date soon or is it just a wait and see thing?

tannyLoo · 03/08/2014 21:42

Scan dread here tonight too. I'm still feeling pg, but am not convinced of anything on that basis. 9 weeks today.

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/08/2014 21:52

Alb provisionally booked in for the 28th August, but depends on if blood pressure behaves itself etc. Excited but scared now, obviously I've been wanting the c section but am nervous as it's surgery etc. Have told them if I go into labour naturally I'm happy to give it a bash provided baby isn't breech though x

OP posts:
littlemissy12345 · 03/08/2014 22:21

tanny ditto on the scan dread. I'm only 6+1 but know that if my dates are wrong or I don't see a heartbeat I'll be devastated even though I know it's early days. No more bleeding though and it was only a spot.

fedupofrainydays · 03/08/2014 22:31

Another one who feels sick with pregnacare. Sanatogen all the way with me. And cheaper.

I'm so tired.
And really over done it today. We are having am extension done at the mo and I've spent the whole day packing and moving boxes out to clear the kitchen and living room ahead of the builders knocking through. My back and bump are both sore now :(
We will be homeless this month so am a bit scared of it all. Will be staying with neighbours and parents. All a bit difficult with work and ds. I am just desperate to nest. At 30 weeks i have not got a single baby thing ready. I hope he / she doesn't come early as will be in a dusty drawer wrapped in a bed sheet at this rate and wearing a Dora the explorer pull up about 5 sizes too big! Eeeeeeek.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Scan doom is really the worst. I have doom before every check up still. So worried they will find something wrong. Fx for good news for you and your beans.

blankfornames · 04/08/2014 07:43

Morning all! Fedup, how long do you think the extension will take? At least you'll have lots more space to look forward to once it's finished!
Scan dread...i wrote that country song!! I have my 12 wk scan tomorrow morning & I've never been more nervous. Had a 7+5 scan, when everything was fine. Since then all symptoms have disappeared, I feel 100% fine all the time. People are saying to me that I should consider myself one of the lucky few not to be sick but at least it's reassurance. I've nearly been preparing myself for bad news. My app will take 3 and half hrs as they do everything at this 1st hosp appointment. Longest of my life I'd say!
Apologies for the 'woe is me' post this morning! Hope others are feeling brighter & more positive about your Beans wherever you are!

HollyBen · 04/08/2014 08:28

Good luck to all with scans todays. 17 days to my 12 week scan....

Hope all goes well with the building work fedup We had a new kitchen, removed a wall, added windows etc a few months ago. Was supposed to take 3 and a half weeks. Builders were here for 6! Had a friend of a friend lined up to tile the floor, but he keeps letting us down. Have another name from builder to contact today. Then we need to decorate, sort blinds and curtains and get a new table and chairs. Then decorate living room, get curtains and new sofa. This was supposed to be finished by last christmas! At this rate we'll be lucky if it is done by my edd in March.

Oh and squiz you have my sympathies. Our house is a previous owners diy disaster area. All off the bedrooms have painted over wallpaper and borders which needs to be removed before we can decorate. Who knows what else we will uncoverShock

littlemissy12345 · 04/08/2014 08:58

Brilliant, more spotting today. Still brown blood but a little heavier than Thursday. I'm obviously now worrying about an ectopic pregnancy too! Good job I've got my scan in a few hours.

TeaandHobnobs · 04/08/2014 09:13

Good luck littlemissy, will be thinking of you. What time is your appointment?
My scan is at 12. I am bricking it. Need to do some work before I go but I can't concentrate Confused

SeaSaltMill · 04/08/2014 10:00

I have a scan on Friday and I am terrified. Utterly freaking out that something will have gone wrong between 8+5 and 11 + 5.

My symptoms are less strong, I still have some but not many, though I know between 10 and 12 weeks they can die down.

Scan at 8+5 was perfect. I think this is why i'm so worried. In all three previous pregnancies I never saw a HB. Never got this far either. But this time there's a baby there. I've seen it. It wiggled when I laughed. And now Im terrified they're going to tell me its all over.

I could cry at my desk. Help me.
