Hurray for this thread! Thought it was just me. Am currently 5 weeks after mmc in early Jan at 7 weeks (found out on 20th July as got period tracker app and I was one day late). So far similar symptoms to first time, nothing fits anymore (or very few things anyway, went from size 8 to 12 in about a month last time and currently about size 11/12). Boobs starting to get bigger, have gone up to 36c already, getting to point where I may need to switch to 38b or c soon. Costs a fortune. Not too sick yet, as, unlike last time knew earlier, and have been doing decaf tea for months, but seriously nauseous last time threw up about 2 or 3 times before mc (and alot one day during mc - LOL), but not great with anything too sweet at mo (eg lemonade no thanks, lime & soda water yes please). Have asked at docs (as per instructions last time) to be booked for early scan - at diff clinic as last time, long story short each time I visited / went to A & E due to scary mc symptoms was asked if I could be pregnant...um no, I'm here cos I'm having a mc, then mw txt me offering me first appt and at final, all clear clinic scan gave me form to fill for first time about how pregnant I was and was I suffering any symptoms that may be mc related, um, not now no as I have already had the mc! Nowbi appear to be coming down wiv summer cold & am about to deal with crazy UCAS clearing period at work. Anyway, point of post is I'm nervous too...about first scan, whether the little tyke is ok & well, pregnancy, mat leave, labour & parenthood. Trying to stay calm, but hope get scan soon to check the bump is ok.

houghtonk76 · 28/07/2014 17:20

PS doc bit indiff this time, I'll write to clinic and they'll contact you, have this pot & do a sample when you get chance. One on 23rd Dec was lovely & supportive. I have underactive thyroid & he booked me in for blood test to check all well, this one says its well managed, only need to do it one a year. Pretty sure the thyroid hormone balance needs to be well-measured as can affect fertility, health of the baby, my heart, blood pressure, metabolism, but what do I know, eh? :-)

houghtonk76 · 28/07/2014 17:22

Hoping that, if I get to see mw team this time, they'll check all the fam history bit / do blood tests, blood pressure tests then.

ilovechops · 28/07/2014 17:31

Just wanted to update. I went for my scan this afternoon (a day earlier than planned)!

It's looking positive so far. Doctor dates me at 4.5-5 wks so very early. Saw the gestational sac, yolk sac and absolutely tiny baby (1.3mm) but it's there and we saw the flutter of a heartbeat too. She couldn't record it but it was some comfort. Amazing high tech scanner.

I have to go back on Monday for another scan for more precise dating as she couldn't really see all that well as it was so tiny. I am feeling relieved yet still a bit nervous just as it was so small and I kind of thought I might be further on as had a positive test 12 days ago but maybe hormones just rose quickly!

No wonder I don't have many symptoms as it's such early days!!

amicablemoomin · 28/07/2014 17:33

congrats on the great scan news, and welcome hough

houghtonk76 · 28/07/2014 17:36

OMG GailLondon! I have same issue, struggling to find clothes to fit now am 5 weeks into 2nd pregnancy (mc first at 7 weeks in early Jan). Am already at least a size bigger and feeling it (as well as the wait for scan nerves)! Don't want work, other than maybe boss to know yet in case mc again. Haven't told folks or friends yet, though pretty sure hubby dropped a clanger & that MIL has sussed it (she's not daft); seeing them tomorrow. On hols from work at mo (hubby works at a school, me for a Uni), back Thurs. May have to tell boss due to office move & long hours during Clearing. Bought few new clothes on wk/end, can't really afford it but nothing fits. Loser tops & new pair of drawstring trousers to hide the bulge til its ok to be out & proud!

houghtonk76 · 28/07/2014 17:38

Thanx Amicable

houghtonk76 · 28/07/2014 17:41

Congrats Ilovechops! FX for you!!

squizita · 28/07/2014 18:08

Good to hear Chops.Wow a HB on such a tiny baby- that must be great equipment.

Welcome Hough

Mini Squiz decided to be naughty at my MW appointment today. As soon as she got the doppler out, she said "oh, the baby is playing with it, they do that..." because the HB was at the lower end of the normal range (i.e. calm/relaxed) but mini kept kicking and wriggling at the probe bit so she couldn't hear the HB for long. However the MW was pleased about this, it means she is alert and her senses/co-ordination are all developing. :) She moves around just fine.

Babytinx11 · 28/07/2014 19:14

Fab news chops :)

Welcome hough

squiz loving mini squiz playing with the Doppler DS used to try and play with kick the crap out of the machine in the hospital amusing until I was being induced and there was no fluid then just painful. Glad things went well today for you :)

Davidtennantmistress · 28/07/2014 19:32

Hello all! Wow you've moved on again! I'd best catch up but marking place for now, I know I'm only 10 weeks but hubs and I are talking names possibly Freya or Beatrix hmm.

Davidtennantmistress · 28/07/2014 19:37

Big congrats to all the newbies, you will find lots of love and support here, remember our mantra and daily chant.....

TODAY I AM PREGNANT!

And then squuuuuueeeeeellllllllllllllllllll, with excitement, followed by oh crap, followed by a check of knickers in the loo when you don't need a week, and then I hope it sticks yay I'm pregnant, and repeat! Lol.

Babytinx11 · 28/07/2014 19:38

davidtennant funny Fraya was one of the names me and DH talked about if this baby is a girl we need a name that goes with Esther which given my surname starts with a T is making life harder boys names are easier lol

TeaRex · 28/07/2014 19:41

Hello to the new faces :) and congratulations on the good scan news! No news from me, just plodding along, had a small bleed today but an trying to ignore it, I think I'm feeling the baby every now and then which is reassuring but I'm just holding out for the 20 week scan now :)

Davidtennantmistress · 28/07/2014 19:45

I have a Joseph and wyatt, with a short L surname we we'll I want Sally Jessica or Jessica Sally for Middle names, usually I'd only have one but I can't chose, well ideally I'd love Elizabeth as well for both of our mums but I think three is too much

Babytinx11 · 28/07/2014 19:51

Those are lovely names david we are thinking Mason Gabriel for a boy my surname is long too which makes things harder I don't want a horrendously huge name for this baby lol

squizita · 28/07/2014 20:09

Davids nice names!

My last name is one which rhymes with anything ending in 'y' so I have to be careful with names. Boys names = anything goes, girls names = have to think of full and short version so it doesn't sound like a cartoon character or something!

Just had an anxious moment counting kicks its the new knicker checking don't you know and DH said "put on some dubstep it'll go nuts yeah" for a joke (he kids me about this because I like rock so he says that will be mini's rebellion as a teenager!). Funny thing was, put this on Youtube and she started kicking away!1 Grin

Babytinx11 · 28/07/2014 20:22

squiz we have also had to be trying baby names out on some of our most welsh friends to hear how both versions work with a thick welsh accent lol and most importantly asking DS to try saying them the way he says something's is comical like swapping the S for a D is stick which led to some interesting looks when he was drawing with his stick on the beach lol

TeaRex · 28/07/2014 20:44

Ooo, lots of nice names! We've not started thinking about it at all, we really struggle with names as just don't seem to like each others choices, we'll start talking when we know if it's a boy or girl (cuts out half the potential arguments that way) :)

Babytinx11 · 28/07/2014 20:56

I just want to make sure this one isn't named after football players lol

BlueStarsAtNight · 28/07/2014 21:47

Awe Squizita that's lovely, naughty baby but very cute Smile

Congratulations on your scans Internet and Chops (and anyone else I've missed with my mush like brains). Hope the next week goes fast for you chops, waiting for a follow-up scan is never fun.

I'm doing ok, 8+1 and still feeling some nausea and flat out exhaustion. Also got horrendous tummy cramps, but think they've mostly been the toilet kind (sorry waaaay tmi), as I'm spending much more time in the bathroom than I want to!
Still not seeing a GP for first appointment until next Thursday. I'm bloody huge though, I had a big tummy anyway but it definitely looks pregnant and struggling to hide it. God knows how I'll manage another 4 weeks of hiding!

tannyLoo · 28/07/2014 22:07

Engles, how lovely to see you! Wowzer for getting to 18 weeks!

Just got back from a weekend away camping, spent most of my time sleeping and eating, and all that fresh air made my ms much more bearable.

Have hit the dizzy heights of 8 weeks, still a bit wobbly that I've got past my MC "time" and still touching wood every time I talk about it!

Booking in tomorrow, and scan next Monday.

Sitting on the floor of a tent with a torch, injecting myself in the tummy was a bit too junkie for me!

Will try and catch up tomorrow.

fedupofrainydays · 28/07/2014 22:10

Great scan news chops and internet

Had the worst day today - so tired with pregnancy,
And our roof was leaking and has soaked through our bed and matress and came through three sets of lights - 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. :( they were rooms that really didn't need decorating again. Cried hysterically. Ds went mental all day and everything has got a bit much. Still commuting to work 3 days a week and also doing more qualifications outside of work and next assignment due on two weeks. Was worried my stress stopped the baby moving too. :(
DH had a go at the builders and they have worked to seal it all up much better - but whenever it rains I panic.

blankfornames · 28/07/2014 23:17

Oh no Fedup, no need for stress like that. I hope you collage to get it fixed soon.
Internet and Chops, exciting scans today! Love technology! My Mum was only telling me today that she had her 5 pregnancies without any scans, you had to wait 9 months to find out anything about your Baba..so tough.

I had been quite anxious as although my symptoms were at minimum, they disappeared altogether 2 wks ago. I got a nose bleed today & I've never been so excited to see blood in my life before! I'm a first timer, so Dr Google jumped to my rescue reassuring me this is fairly common in pregnancy!
....it's the little things!! 8 days to my 12 wk scan.
Apologies for long post!!

InternetFOREVER · 29/07/2014 06:30

Thanks everyone! I'm 6+1 and managed to get stressed out within hours of the scan as they said baby measured 2mm, which a quick google search suggested might be a bit small. Have smacked myself with a kipper though and will go with the mantra "today I am pregnant" Grin

Thanks squizita for the heparin info - how did you find it in the end - did you get used to doing it? I'm not looking forward to it but I know I'll be like you and be anxious about stopping too...

Fedup that sounds like the last thing you need, hope DH does a good job dealing with it all so that you don't have to stress about it. I remember reading something though about how stress really doesn't affect babies that much - think about all the babies born healthy in war zones, etc! So its more just that it feels horrible for you than it does any harm.

Blank lol at nosebleed excitement! Otherwise lack of symptoms is fine, you're about the enter your "blooming" 2nd tri after all! I had a tiny bout of morning sickness yesterday and would be happy for that not to continue, I hate feeling sick! At the time it was quite a relief though (was literally an hour before the scan!)

tannyloo injecting in a tent - the glamours of pregnancy! We're visiting family for the next couple of weekends and I'm not sure what they'll make of me having syringes and a sharps box with me!

Congrats on scan ilove and great you don't have to wait long for the next one. And welcome Hough - love that I'm moving up the due dates list (which I will actually add myself to after the next scan, lol)

Have a great day all!
