Hand holding and fish slapping...

Hi all been struggling with ms and a terrible cold so not been on for a while

Tea- I get those pains as well and remember them from being pregnant with DS. Resting makes them calm down and a midwife did once say to drink plenty of water as keeping hydrated helps

Mini fish slap for me please. Have my 12 week scan tomorrow and am really scared. I had a scan at 9 weeks and all was fine so I shouldn't be freaking out as much as I am.

squizita · 07/07/2014 13:39

Tea about 14 weeks I got all sorts of aches and pains, I think it's a time when your insides are moving about a lot!

MrsG great news! :) My MW was also pleased with my measurements/BP etc', phew, another terrifying appointment over and done with.

Davids keeping fingers crossed for you and a HB!

squitz the race is on to see who pops first out of us both ;-)

TeaRex · 07/07/2014 15:24

Thanks for the reassurance :) just been projectile vomiting in the loos this afternoon so hormones still going strong, but now I'm feeling sorry for myself so not working and spending all my time on mumsnet. Productive of me no?

Babytinx11 · 07/07/2014 17:10

Slightly freaking out today scan Wednesday and it's still probably too early to see hb so I'm still not really going to know all is ok :( plus been grumpy as hell today which isn't really fair on DH but it's partly his fault. Thinking I need a huge fish slap followed by a large injection of pma :(

KeepingTheFaith9 · 07/07/2014 17:43

Hello ladies. I've been lurking around this thread for months - having had a MC this very time last year and now being 25 weeks along with a little girl.

I really gain a lot of strength from reading your posts and may not reply to each thread as my life is a tad manic but just to offer reassurance to those who are worrying about their beans daily - I worry too, even when she is kicking!

Best investment for me was a fetal heart monitor (amazon £20) I use it maybe once a week just to give me some peace of mind and would recommend it as it has helped me a lot.

In the absence of heartbeat and kicking - aside from my growing bump (which is quite compact!) I have few symptoms - boobs disappointingly small still and everything else fine - not sure if this is the calm before the storm?!! Lol.

I am enjoying being pregnant - altho the daily worry never passes for us MC ladies - I try to get thru each day one day at a time.

Will keep dropping in - good luck and baby dust blessings to you all.

X

Hi all, good to see some happy results from appointments and people getting scans booked in.

We told my parents today that I was pg. They were given strict instructions not to be happy or mention it again until further notice! Smile I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm planning on having a private scan at 9 weeks if all is well. They needed to know so they can look after DD for us!
All of this is to try and protect DD as last time I MCd she was really effected so we have banned all talk of symptoms, pregnancy or babies until after 12 week scan when she is in the room!

Cakebaker35 · 07/07/2014 18:24

Been away for a few days and trying to catch up but this thread moves so fast! Welcome all the newbies and fish slaps/hugs in equal measure to those that need it.

GandT glad you told your parents and I'm sure they will be fab about not getting excited just yet but will probably burst with excitement once you get to 12 wks Grin

babytinx no fish slap just a big hand hold, you're allowed to feel grumpy and scans are scary! I have my 12 wk one on weds so will be thinking of you.

News from here is yet another big bleed last week followed by a scan, and amazingly all still ok and the the little bean managed a wave at us too. I think I'm now officially Queen of Bleeds! I have 12 wk scan on weds, feels like a very big milestone particularly since all this bleeding since week 5/6. I'm feeling more positive that we've got this far even tho I'm scared to death sometimes about weds, I hope that not much has changed since last week and we will see some more waving. I've decided to take dd along so she can start getting an idea of what's happening.

amicablemoomin · 07/07/2014 18:43

I was totally beside myself with terror too before my 12 week. It's such a big milestone that even ladies who have never experienced m/c get anxious - so no wonder we do. hopefully the anxiety before will be balanced out by the euphoria of a great scan and a big milestone crossed. FX for you cake and baby.

Great to hear the good appointment news for mrsg and squizita....you are on the home stretch now. mrsg - question for you - do you know why they start talking about options with the baby in breech at this point? I would have assumed it was a lot of time for it to turn still? How quickly do they turn - i.e. could it be in breech one day and then not the next? Just curious!

Babytinx11 · 07/07/2014 19:10

Thanx cake and amicable I'll be so
Pleased when I am far enough to see hb and once I am past 8 weeks and know my little pip is ok
Big hugs and hand holds for your scans too :)

This pregnancy thing is scary really lucky my epu are being so lovely and supportive

Happilymarried155 · 07/07/2014 19:25

I don't think any of us will properly relax until we have those little bundles in our arms!! I only saw the heartbeat last week and I'm stressing again already! I've booked a private one on the 19th so il be ten weeks by then! I'm so excited/nervous! :)

Babytinx11 · 07/07/2014 19:29

It's so amazing having you guys here I don't feel so much like a mad woman knowing it's not just me :)

Davidtennantmistress · 07/07/2014 19:45

Babytinks, I'll hold your hand, mines at 9.20 I will be 7+3 hoping and praying that I see something but in my mind I'm so nervous I'm reconciled to not, so if they don't see anything I'll be prepared if that makes sense? Likewise if I don't fingers crossed it's too early and I'll get to go back in a week.

Mrs g, get scrubbing the floors, up and down on a chair to clean the windows, honestly you laugh but ds2 was so comfy I didn't think he was coming out, literally spent 6 hours up and down on chairs scrubbing walls falls and everything in my new house, and whatcha know less than 24 hours later he was here, it works honestly gets them moving so get up and down scrubbing!

Hope everyone else is ok.

MrsGiraffe12 · 07/07/2014 19:55

moomin they don't mean now for doing the ECV, they just need to let me know all the options ie - ECV or elective c section or breech vbac. They said they wouldn't book the ECV until around 35 weeks as there is time for him/her to turn. But having done my own research I think if baby doesn't turn I will go for elective c section, from what I read there is a rupture risk from both breech vbac (more than cephalic vbac) and potentially from ECV too when you have had a prior c section x

Babytinx11 · 07/07/2014 20:47

davidtennantmistress i'll hold your hand before my scan then i am 10.15 on wednesday i'll be 5 +1 so i dont think we are going to see much again :( not sure seeing hb is going to be much reassurance after last time but fingers crossed it would be nice to have one night without nightmares. I am really lucky though as my epu are going to keep scanning me which something not that its making me feel any better. i really hope they see a heartbeat for you though :)

silverine · 07/07/2014 22:18

Many thanks radley, fedup and moomin for the nice wishes. Yes, it is indeed hard on both partners. We're off on holiday to see family (it's where I come from) and lounge on the beach. Will book a scan for the day we arrive there. If we can see hb then, that would be amazing and something to celebrate! Will try to relax as much as possible, and know my mum will spoil me either way! Grin
keepingthefaith thank you very much for popping in to offer reassurance. Wishing you great rest of pg!
Good luck with upcoming scans ellis, david and tinx!

AddictedToRadley · 07/07/2014 22:26

Lots of big bear hugs and reassuring hand holding to all those with scans this week.

Just popping in to quickly catch up otherwise I'll get lost!! :) And also to update. So my asthma is definitely turning into an upper respiratory infection and possibly faringitis (spl??) (faringitis is similar to laryngitis but just much further down so can only be seen with camera up nose and down throat). The trouble is that whenever I've had faringitis before my GPs have always insisted my throat was fine and that I didn't need antibiotics which has lead to me being admitted after my throat virtually closed. Anyway will push that home tomorrow IF I can get an appointment! The good thing is that even though I've got this infection brewing, it's not fully erupted yet so I've only got milder symptoms and a dreadful cough (not great mixed with ms as makes you want to be sick without the added extras of feeling quests with ms!! Oh the joys!) and my asthma is settling with my steroids etc. So all in all feeling positive :)

Had bad news in the family today. My DS's Godparents' restaurant has gone up in flames :( Thankfully no major damage and everyone safe but still a disaster they could've done without as they were doing a major refurb after water damage over winter period. Such a wonderful family too so makes it all the more heartbreaking.

Stupid question but.....
What's the earliest you can feel baby moving? I thought it was 14-16 weeks with second baby? If I didn't know better I'd be convinced that I could feel teeny tiny flutters already but at just 9+2 I doubt that's really possible. Perhaps it's a fluttering muscle but I've really felt it over the past few days so just had to ask. Sorry for sounding simple! Wink

AddictedToRadley · 07/07/2014 22:33

I hope you have an amazing time Silver FX this is just what you and DH need to relax and take your minds off all the stress and worry that pregnancy after mc brings. Hopefully you'll be too busy visiting friends and family sand enjoying yourselves to notice any lack of symptoms or worry about what may be etc. Really hoping it unites you both and reinvigorates you too. Good luck for the scan. When do you go and whereabouts are you going? I'm jealous as could really do with a holiday. Instead I've promised DS that we'll put the tent up in the back garden and camp out for a night!! Haha not quite a two week all inclusive holiday in the sun but that's all finances allow for at the minute! Grin

Davidtennantmistress · 08/07/2014 06:30

Radly, I felt ds2 earlier about 14/15 weeks ish, how many have you had? It would be reasonable to assume it gets earlier with each pg.

Ok; so who ordered the huge plate of queasiness, coupled with a side portion of owwwww are those really my norks!

Apparently eating at two hour intervals stops it more or less completely.

AddictedToRadley · 08/07/2014 06:40

David thanks for replying. I did a lot of research last night and apparently it is possible to feel a baby move at just 9 weeks! That really shocked me. However, I think it's just muscle twinges in me as my tummy stretches but will keep an open mind as you never know.

Sorry you're feeling so yucky. MS is awful isn't it? And just when you think that's bad enough, then your boobs feel left out so they start trumpeting up a lovely intense papain all of their own! Lol I can't believe how HUGE mine are! I'd already grown from a 38DD to a 40J by week 6. I know I've grown again but daren't go back and get measured again, not at £28 a bra!! Wink

Oh you asked which prangnancy this was? This is my 14th pregnancy but I only have one DS, all the others were first trimester pregnancies.

AddictedToRadley · 08/07/2014 06:42

I really should use the 'Preview Message' function considering the mistakes I keep making!!

The above should read pain not papain! Sorry Blush

blankfornames · 08/07/2014 07:09

Tinx, David & Ellis, best of luck with your scans...hand holding for everyone!
Silver, have a fantastic holiday. The time to your scan will hopefully move a little quicker for you than if you're sat at home!

I'm so chuffed that I made 7+5 because at 3.30 today I get to have my first scan. I've had a bleed & have had dc for 2 weeks now (sorry tmi) so I'm as nervous as I am excited! I've had practically no symptoms ( apart from carb only diet & sore boobs).Poor DH got the brunt of a mini melt down yday!

Wishing everyone a non sickly/positive day!

Davidtennantmistress · 08/07/2014 08:03

Good luck blank. I'm happy to be sticky, but remind me I said that if it gets worse! Sickness is my friend sickness means hormones, hopefully! Lol.

blankfornames · 08/07/2014 08:14

David, I know, I wish for the odd day of reassurance sickness! I'm nervous that I've not been sick yet. Hopefully I'm just one of those small %'s that don't get sick...and for no other reason.
This whole pregnancy malarkey is definitely not for the faint hearted! Wink
