fedup Smile snot ball! mine was too! not bloody just like a huge lump of wallpaper paste!!

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/07/2014 19:47

badgers so sorry to hear your news :-( sending lots of hugs and hope you have support in real life.

As for me, I phoned community midwife who said gp. Only out of hours was available so went there. Didn't listen to babies heart beat, didn't take my blood pressure. Took a wee sample for a uti but that's it. All came back clear. Just said take paracetamol and have a warm bath. That's it!! Didn't say a thing about the increased discharge and seemed to focus on the back pain more than anything . Not a happy bunny tonight :-( but obviously can't phone midwife back up as they didn't care enough to see me earlier and told me to see gp so why would they care now

fedupofrainydays · 03/07/2014 19:50

Really tired today again. And for the millionth time DH is going to get back about 10 pm so I will have to do dinner again after finished putting ds to bed. BUT 21 days left of work. Yay!!! So over commuting. London in this heat is just horrible. Am sure the hotter it is the baby moves less which totally freaks me out.

mrsg how are you doing?

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/07/2014 19:52

fedup I posted above your post. Not a happy bunny tonight at all :-(

squizita · 03/07/2014 20:05

Oh no Badgers how awful for you. :(

OP posts:
fedupofrainydays · 03/07/2014 20:06

Sorry to hear that mrsg. Is the baby moving around still ok? I would definately stick a pad in and if things get worse over night then take that in to the mw / assessment unit at the hospital.
They should have checked you if you feel like you could have been having contractions as if it is early labour they can give you steroids or something to delay it (happened to someone I know who went into labour at 30 and 34 weeks due to some infection she didn't know she had but then the drugs kept the baby in til 38 weeks)
So.. Have you still got pains / BH? Are they regular?

squizita · 03/07/2014 20:07

MrsG could you go to a walk in urgent care centre at a hospital? The ones a scale down from A&E. A MW recommended doing that if I had an emergency when far from home- the jnr drs will send you up to gynie/labour and someone will have a look I'm sure!

OP posts:
Babytinx11 · 03/07/2014 20:07

So glad I found you guys thanks to squizita currently 4 weeks pregnant after having a silent miscarriage last year was admitted at the weekend with really bad pains :( had a scan in epu yesterday showed everything ok having another one in a week but still having mild cramps and just can't seem to relax incase it's the same as last time ??

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/07/2014 20:11

squitz and fedup the walk in out of hours gp / urgent care is the same thing where I live and that's who the midwife recommended seeing. They felt my tummy there (the gp) and said my tummy was normal, the tighten ifs arnt happening now but I still have the horrendous back pain and discharge. Baby is moving around a bit, but I have no regular pattern as I have an anterior placenta so am a bit miffed they didn't do more. If it doesn't improve per night I shall be phoning the maternity ward for sure. Urgh, being pregnant is shit x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 03/07/2014 20:17

Oh gosh mrsg. I don't think a&e doctors and gps know anything about pregnancy. At least that's my experience. I don't know what to suggest really if that's what the midwife told you to do. Have you been recording how often you have having those BH/tightening? I'm really worried you are getting into early labour. I don't know if they can do anything to stop it, but fedup seems to think they could.

They count contractions as how many you get in 10min. Definitely put a pad there and see how long it takes to fill in.

badger I'm so sorry too. Hopefully it's just a bleeding scar and you will get a good scan tomorrow.

Thinking of you all tonight.

squizita · 03/07/2014 20:37

If you call maternity/labour directly they may ask you to go straight there!

OP posts:
Cakebaker35 · 03/07/2014 20:38

mrsg so sorry you seem to be getting pretty shitty care. Could you give your labour ward a call? They might be able to offer some more sensible thoughts/support. Waiting overnight will be stressy and horrible for you x

Cakebaker35 · 03/07/2014 20:39

Crossed with squitza but agree completely!

squizita · 03/07/2014 20:39

Hi Baby. Its good the pains are getting milder, had pain and it was OK. Am now 29+ weeks! So fingers crossed all will be well for you.

Babytinx11 · 03/07/2014 20:50

I hope so don't think I've been this nervous about before after my othe mcs i just took it as a fresh start and ended up with my lb but it's playing on me coz I went ages last time not knowing anything was wrong x

MrsGiraffe12 · 03/07/2014 21:01

Thanks all again for advice and support. Have had a warm bath and some paracetamol as advised by doctor. Seems to have eased it slightly. But have put a pad on too and will moniter it over night, and if it gets worse im phoning maternty unit directly. Good news is baby has given me some enormous kicks in last 20 mins or so :-) x

LondonJen · 03/07/2014 21:32

So sorry to hear your news Badger tho I hope it isn't what you think

MrsG just read through am glad you've had some good thrashes from baby now! Hoping everything calms down (apart from kicks!) or you can get some better answers elsewhere tomorrow.

Welcome Baby, silent miscarriage happened to me with my 1st pregnancy and I found it hard to trust my body that things were different this time. But they were and am 26 weeks now. I know it's difficult but all you can do is go one day at a time, come here for support/letting out your anxieties and try to keep busy until your next scan x

silverine · 03/07/2014 22:01

badger so so sorry for you. Hope the scan tomorrow shows it's fine. Thanks
seasalt hope your scan tomorrow goes well.
I'm feeling quite nervous now. Had almost no symptoms over the last few days, my stabby pains have gone, don't know if that's a good or bad thing.... fx!

AddictedToRadley · 04/07/2014 06:49

Sorry I've not been on for a few days. Just spent from 3am until now (630am) catching up on all I've missed. I've just felt so ill with ms and headaches from Hell like dehydration headaches. Then I started to have a major wobble that is had a MMC even though I've always bled and MCd completely without intervention! Anyway I went to the EPU yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and as I was sat waiting a few couples came out in tears which of course made my nerves even worse! Finally get called in a couple of hours later (the joys of large hospitals is long waiting times!) and as the consultant starts to scan me I couldn't see anything clearly inside the dark circle that are the waters so DP and I were looking from one to another panicked. After an absolute eternity (5 minutes maximum but felt like 5 hours!) the consultant said baby had grown :) We saw baby's heart beating away and she confirmed that baby had grown from 4.4mm to 18.6mm - go baby :) The reason we couldn't see as clearly is that last time it was an internal scan and this time she got the info needed from an external tummy scan. Huge relief!! We couldn't believe how much baby had grown when we put the two scans together (yesterday's and 2 weeks ago). So now we are on the countdown to the next scan on 17th July. I've got my booking in appointment at my GP surgery this morning but she rang me on Weds to check which hospital I wanted to give birth at. We live in the catchment area for Harrogate Hospital and 2 major Leeds Hospitals (LGI and Jimmy's). I told her that I wanted Jimmy's because of my serious health problems and because DS was born there. The downside is that you're never seen on time but the flip side is that there's always loads of staff on because it's so big and a teaching hospital. Anyway, the midwife said that if it was Harrogate she'd fill in the paperwork during the 20 minute booking appt as Hgte paperwork takes 10-15 minutes to complete but Leeds hospitals take 1-1.5 hours to complete!!!!! So I had to collect the notes and start completing them myself. I'm not kidding you it's so tedious writing your name literally about 40-50 times!! Anyway, that's done (what I can anyway) but I don't understand how paperwork can vary so much by hospital/area - 15 mins vs 1.5 hrs is absurd!

Badger I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a tough time and hope that the scan goes well today. My thoughts are with you at the awful time Thanks

MrsG Thinking of you and hoping that it's not prem labour and just BH and some CM or even a UTI. FX Thanks

Nerdy Well done and a massive congratulations. This gives us all so much hope when we hear of a baby being born. Enjoy your daughter and try not to stress too much (easier said than done I know!) Thanks

Just found this Groupon deal for a 3D/4D scan with pictures and CD of moving baby for £69 instead of £139. This one is in Leeds but check Groupon as there may be one nearer you.

Wow - check out that list of thread babies - it's long!! Posifrickintive sign for us ladies xx

squizita · 04/07/2014 08:16

Radley in London they recently computerised everything so they just click and the paperwork mail-merges your details. Hope they roll that out nationally! The only problem is if the computer crashes you can get some weird letters (well, like the 'you're just pregnant 1st appointment' letter sent out instead of the 'you're over half way through your next scan is_' letter ... the appointment times and places are correct!).

OP posts:
amicablemoomin · 04/07/2014 08:18

badgers I am so sorry. Thanks

joosie any news from your scan?

No news here, 16 weeks today so only 5 more sleeps until midwife appointment - my anxiety at the moment is huge. No real bump or movements yet, hopefully soon as that might calm me down somewhat. I hadn't realized this in-between bit would be so hard - felt that I would be home free if got to 12 weeks.

EffinIneffable · 04/07/2014 08:45

morning all. hand holding for all who need it today. thinking of you badgers and mrsg

think I need a fish slap. boob watch (only real symptom) reveals much less achey this morning. This happened last time about a week before I mc'd. I know I can't read much anything into it but has set me off on panic stations.
