I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

Hi all, DS2 was finally born this morning after two days of stop start contractions, waters breaking and an induction. I can't lie it was all pretty horrendous at the end as his heart rate dropped and I got rushed to theatre for emcs only for them to find I'd dilated from 6cm to 10cm in ten minutes so he was pulled/pushed out by me and the consultant. Then placenta wouldn't come out so had up have it forcibly removed!

Other than being very battered and bruised I'm completely loved up and he was totally worth it Grin

Ada enjoy your newborn squishes with DD pretty name and Envy at your labour Wink

Sending everyone else happy baby and speedy delivery vibes xx

Geminiwitch22 · 25/05/2014 18:13

Aww congrats Thanks

wispaxmas · 25/05/2014 18:41

Congratulations Killashandra and Ada! Making me majoring jealous (maybe not of your labour, though, Killa!)

DiddyBeth · 25/05/2014 18:55

Congrats to all who have had their babies, very jealous Envy!

37+3 and most definitely fed up now, today in particular. Just so uncomfortable and tired, going through heartburn tablets like they are going out of fashion! Miss being able to just flop down into bed and be able to be comfortable without needing pillows everywhere by which time you need to get up to pee anyway so have to start all over again!

The thought of possibly going to 42 weeks is hideous Sad Have been bouncing on my ball and trying to walk as much as I can to get this baby into position to come out but after being told that it looks like she has dropped it feels like she is shoved up right in my ribs again today. Seeing the midwife tomorrow so hoping for her to say she is at least starting to engage or doing something positive but it doesn't feel like it Sad Going to be a long 3 weeks!

PurplePunkPrincess · 25/05/2014 19:11

Congratulations killa! Hope the birth wasn't too awful for you and that you are both doing well :)

I've been (desperately) wondering if the steroid injection I had earlier on in pregnancy will encourage him to (at least) not go too overdue. Though I very much doubt it works like that! Hmm

I've felt very tense the last couple of days and have a bit of a sore gum and jaw as a result. Bit odd. Q

Iwillorderthefood · 25/05/2014 19:51

Congratulations killa and ada. killa your birth sounds tough going! but even so, hopefully you will still recover more quickly than if you had a c- section.

Enjoy your babies.

I am 37+4 now, lots of twinges but am trying to ignore since I think at this stage it's better to try and ignore them until you are no longer able to. I have a niggling feeling that I am not going to go into labour for a long time yet. I am very sore just below my sternum, I'm pretty sure that it is because my stomach muscles have been separated so much and are pulling further out wards from the top. OUCH.

Ilikecakes · 25/05/2014 20:47

sick yes love all the guessing games too! That said, I'm convinced it's another boy even without all the old wives' tales to back it up! I've been told 'boys come in threes'; several midwives have separately said to me that after two boys, you've an 85% chance of having a third (NO idea how that percentage was calculated!); bump is 'boy shaped' aka low+pointy (although that could just be how I carry any baby, nothing else to compare it to at this stage); no real morning sickness, not much heartburn - all of which are apparently signs of a boy. The clincher this week was a midwife who said 'it sounds like a lad!' when checking heartbeat! I googled it and apparently boys have slower foetal heartbeats than girls. Will be interesting to see if all this 'evidence' actually means anything when baba finally makes their appearance!

Congrats to all the mummies, enjoy those newborn snuggles! Thanks

Oooh I'm so excited to meet our little one now.....! Grin

PurplePunkPrincess · 25/05/2014 20:52

Iwillorder, I'm also getting twinges and trying to ignore it. I've been feeling quite tense and generally odd today as well Hmm

He's wriggling about an awful lot as well, as cute as it is, it's uncomfortable and usually on my bladder Hmm

PurplePunkPrincess · 25/05/2014 20:55

Ilikecakes, I'm really surprised your midwife said that! I believe that every time you fall pregnant there is the same 50/50 (or precisely 50.3/49.7) chance it will be a boy, regardless of what you've already had. Though in their defence I have 3 boys and another boy on the way Grin

PurplePunkPrincess · 25/05/2014 21:17

2 boys, not 3. Confused thankfully

livingzuid · 25/05/2014 22:01

killas congratulations! How awful for you with the birth but glad it is past you and you are both fine :)

diddy this never ending hg is rubbish. How do you manage to bounce on the ball, I'd be really ill-lots of admiration!

SicknSpan · 25/05/2014 22:24

ilikecakes and purplepunk I really love having two boys already, a third would be just lovely. Three little ducks following dh around in height order? So cute! But then of course it would be fab to have a girl because we haven't got one- but would never wish my lot was different whatever we have.

This pregnancy has been very different in many ways from ds1 and ds2. Had horrific hg with them but it's been more manageable this time, I'm way hairier this time, less heartburn, slower heartbeat- all things which are supposedly "boy" things but didn't have them when carrying my boys!

The guessing game is what's been keeping me going the last few weeks to be honest, i really have not enjoyed being pregnant at all. I am so ridiculously excited to find out which name we get to use, they boy or girl one :)

wispaxmas · 25/05/2014 22:25

38+4 today and I was ridiculously proud of myself for being able to shave my legs. How sad! I think I want a baby by this time next week. 1 June would be a lovely birthday to have!

DiddyBeth · 25/05/2014 22:41

Living It is some very gentle bouncing and swaying, cant handle anything to enthusiastic Smile

Getting occasional period like pains in stomach and back as well as strong braxton hicks but trying not to get my hopes up (and failing miserably) as it just makes it more annoying when nothing comes of it.

Wispaxmas I managed to shave my legs last night and felt like I deserved a medal, it did involve some impressive and bizarre positions to be able to get around the bump though Grin

HungryHorace · 26/05/2014 06:19

Congratulations, Killas. It must've been scary for you, but I hope the newborn snuggles help to wipe your memory. :-)

I cut my toenails yesterday. I was very pleased with myself. I'm not too bad at leg shaving (though it was easier when baby changed from head down to transverse!) but it is a bit of a challenge now.

I'm very envious of those of you with hardly any time left, it has to be said. I've never been any good at waiting!

We've not found the sex out and didn't with DD either. I was convinced she was a boy, so have no conviction either way this time as I'm clearly crap at guessing! My bump is lower and pointier this time though, so we shall see.

I enjoy playing guessing games too, it has to be said. This one's heart beat sounds different to DD's. It'll be interesting to see if that OWT is true!

And I had a really dark linea nigra with DD but have only just started to get a very faint one this time. Not sure if that means anything?!

Allinson2014 · 26/05/2014 06:56

36+1 here today but I am fed up already. I have enormous babies (10lb 12 and 11lb 13) and this one is predicted to be a similar size. Definitely ready for her to come out any second. I'm having tightening a this morning but just know that they are only teasing me and will settle down soon.

Darksideofthemoon88 · 26/05/2014 08:08

Congratulations Killashandra! Sorry to hear that your labour was so difficult, but pleased that your baby is here safe and sound.

37+4 today and feeling overdue lol - I think, somewhere in the pits of my mad brain, I'd convinced myself that I would reach 37 weeks and she would pop out immediately. Clearly that has not happened! The last couple of nights, I've been so uncomfortable with cramps in my lower back and lower abdomen and electric shock pains in my thighs and DD just feeling very low that I've wondered if something was about to happen....but I think perhaps that's just wishful thinking! Sad Desperate to get her out now. Tried wide-legged squats yesterday: figured that if anything would get her head further down, maybe they would. The immediate reaction was a fairly desperate need for the loo though! Grin

dramajustfollowsme · 26/05/2014 08:31

My waters broke at 34wks with dd and they kept stopping my labour until I got to 36wks. It was a horrible, worrying and tiring couple of weeks
This time, I'm 35wks and getting strong bh and back pain but ridiculously am disappointed that it hasn't started yet. I really don't want her to come too early either so this thinking doesn't make sense at all. Confused

CooCooCachoo · 26/05/2014 08:45

Lovely to hear of baby's arriving, so glad I found this thread. 36+1 today and, after about 3 hours sleep last night, feeling pretty miserable!

Wish baby would just come now but moving house at the weekend and its best in situ until we're finally in. After that, it's open season on the curry!

CooCooCachoo · 26/05/2014 08:47

allinson2014 snap! Do you normally deliver early with such big babies?

seasaltbaby · 26/05/2014 08:56

Hello everyone, 37+6 today & so very ready for this baby to come. My level of exhaustion has reached new levels, literally any small activity & I'm wiped out! Finding it so hard with dd1, who I think is realising mummy is struggling & is testing the boundaries more & more...id convinced myself baby would be come early, but really there's no reason to think I won't reach my due date, or worse beyond....so yes I can happily join in being fed up with this now!!!

Ilikecakes · 26/05/2014 10:03

Yep, don't understand at all where that 85% stat came from as I'd always thought you were 50/50 each time, but a few separate people have said it to me! There's been a gang of five of us pregnant with DC3 after two boys over the last few months: two have had boys, I'm next and then two more to go, so surely there'll be a bit of pink in there somewhere?!?! Honestly don't mind either way, I'm the very same as you sick and would love another little boy waddling around after all my other men, but a little girl would be gorgeous too….on a very very boring practical level, I literally have everything I would ever need for a baby boy, so that would kind of be handy too?!

Congrats all, and good luck to all those waiting - lovely to have found this thread. 39+3 today and don't think anything's imminent - have money on Sunday 1st for no real reason……!

PurplePunkPrincess · 26/05/2014 11:39

DP and I both have birthdays in June, 18th and 20th, we couldn't have planned the timing of due date much better as he's due 11th. A much as baby coming on the 16th or 19th would work out neatly, I hope he comes much sooner! In June there are a total of 6 close family members/friends whose birthday he could end up sharing.

Ilikecakes · 26/05/2014 13:23

Yikes, I take that back. Sudden shooting pains across bump, called into midwife who suggested I come in………eek! Will see if it turns into anything :-)

PurplePunkPrincess · 26/05/2014 13:45

Good luck ilikecakes! Keep us updated Grin xx
