I'm 35 weeks and driving myself crazy! I'm so uncomfortable and this heat isn't helping. I'm constantly expanding, my jeans are getting too tight but it seems silly to buy anymore now.

I just want him out, he must be just about big enough by now!

Anyone else feeling the same?

How is everyone doing today?
I was very hot and bothered yesterday (in London so it was about 25 degrees yesterday). Sunshine Is lovely but just too hot!
Saw midwife yesterday and my pulse and BP were slightly higher than normal but I grumpily explained it may have been because I had to wait in their swelteringly hot stuffy waiting room for 40 mins before my appointment!
Felt so restless last night and had lots of tightenings. Thought it might be something starting but alas no luck.
Good news from midwife appointment is that baby is in good position, head down 3/5 engaged so at least things are moving in the right direction.
I'm not officially 'due' until 25th June but want her to come out NOW!!

Geminiwitch22 · 13/06/2014 12:12

hey everyone,
still nothing.... on off cramping baby moving but nothing else. my birthday tommorow guess he may show up then....
Always: im not due till 28th but theyve booked me in for induction next wednesday....feel the same want them here now =(

evertonmint · 13/06/2014 13:01

Coped ok with the heat yesterday as both DCs out at school/nursery so I could stay in. Been entertaining my DD this morning - a-c playgroup and then in the shade in a friend's garden, but just the act of being out and about in this weather is too much. I'm shattered and a bit nauseous now. I didn't sleep well last night either - loo at 1am, heartburn at 3am, visit from the 3yo at 4am, weird dream which woke me for the day at 5.30... Got to get DD to gym class in an hour, collect DS from school at 3 and then I can collapse as handing them over to PILs for a sleepover tonight.

Tonight/tomorrow morning would be perfect for the baby to come - kids cared for, DH finished work for the week and it's Father's Day too! But I have zero signs of imminent labour so it's unlikely! I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up and focusing on next weekend at the earliest given prior experience.

40+1 today and feeling every day of it!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 13/06/2014 13:17

Gemini I recall from a previous post that you were already 2cm? so you never know, labour might happen on it's own before your induction on Wednesday.
Everton sounds like you will get a well deserved rest tomorrow. I agree this weekend would be very convenient for baby to arrive, shame the little one probably has other ideas!
I'm really trying to avoid going out today, staying home in my nice cool living room. Luckily DH will bring DS home from school so no hot stuffy buses for me today.
Hot weather is a good excuse for an ice lolly or two though Smile

Geminiwitch22 · 13/06/2014 13:20

thats what i was hoping Always, but with my birthday tommorow i think it may just be a case of bearing with it until wednesday as its very much latent labour

evertonmint · 13/06/2014 13:32

Ah you'll have the baby on your birthday, Gemini! I know so many people this has happened to including my mum with my brother Grin Sod's law and all that!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 13/06/2014 13:41

Gemini, hope you have a lovely birthday tomorrow. As hard as it is try and relax and enjoy your weekend. At least you know that by this time next week you will have a lovely little newborn to snuggle

Geminiwitch22 · 13/06/2014 13:42

true true

Iwillorderthefood · 13/06/2014 13:46

Hi all, I am 40+2, hoping to miss the 13th. Am sure that I will.

I went to our local open air pool today, it was lovely to cool off and feel weightless for just a little while.

My dad has been weeding the garden, front and back, mum cleaned my oven, so I have no inclination to do any of this sort of activity at all.

Poor you ch1a, I remember it feeling very tough when I was pg with my 3 year old. You never know it may happen very quickly. Some people have no sign that it is going to happen until the very first real contraction.

RoseberryTopping · 13/06/2014 14:48

Oh. My. God.
I am sooo hot.
Going to go treat myself to a bag of ice today I reckon!

Oh ch1a don't say sorry for moaning, it does you good to get it out! Will you get much help this weekend? The days can be so long with a small child to look after, hope you are getting a good rest on the evenings.

Would you be happy to have baby on your birthday then gemini? I'm sure it'd earn you some extra treats :) my birthday is the day after my dad and it's always been nice to share it with him.

As much as I want baby out soon I'm hoping it doesn't happen this weekend as it's DSs birthday, he'll be the big 4! He's so excited and got no patience like his mother! I told him the baby coming will be a surprise and that does seem to have been taken in by him a bit more, cheers for that :)

Lol IWill, I read that as your dad has been weeing on the front and back garden...wondered why you were so cheery about it!

well got some news, "show" has shown up (sorry tmi and bad pun), and contractions every 5 mins midwives say "until waters break, pain too much or i cant cope then call again".
After latent labour for nearly a WEEK Angry back on pinapple juice which is helping

ch1a · 13/06/2014 17:24

Gemini I'm very jealous of your show. The only progress I have made today is to drop off ds1 with my in-laws for a weekend long sleepover (yes I know I am so so lucky to have their help at the weekends). So if I do go into labour at least that is one less thing to worry about.

My body and this baby haven't cottoned on to the fact that it would be perfect to go into labour tonight though. I will indeed be pregnant forever.

ch1a · 13/06/2014 17:27

Roseberry - I'm all about the ice too. I had to start buying bags last week as my freezer can't make it fast enough.

Ice mixed with spartone iron supplements and orange juice....mmmm.

Iwillorder - It's so hard to look after them well at this stage isn't it. I'm so glad the in-laws have him this weekend. He is so patient with my lack of energy but I feel bad that his life is just a bit crap and uninteresting when he is with me.

ch1a · 13/06/2014 17:30

I even bought a supersize paddling pool at Tesco yesterday and then couldn't be bothered to inflate and fill it today. Lame.

Iwillorderthefood · 13/06/2014 18:26

Ha ha raspberry, yes that would put a different slant on things!

YaY for your show Gemini, plus contractions let's hope it all ramps up now.

Your pool sounds good ch1a.

doublechocchip · 13/06/2014 19:01

HI everyone been following this thread for the last couple of weeks so thought I'd join in for the home stretch! Congrats to all who have had babies.

Im 38+2 with dc3, the older 2 (5 and 7) are at school which has made it easier but we've been decorating as you do so trying to get house in some sort of less chaotic state! Should hopefully finish sorting this weekend then baby can come whenever! Going to try and fit an ikea trip in tomorrow evening which will be fun as a) should be nice and quiet with people getting ready to watch England and b) its quite far away so may tempt labour on!

Am really not coping with this heat at all, had a tepid bath before which was a nice relief on my ever expanding legs! Desperately seeing out the shade everywhere I go. Not doing much for my patience levels either. Read a tip on here about sleeping with a frozen hot water bottle, its been amazing although poor dh gets woken up with a shock when he rolls over onto it in the night ha! Any keeping cool tips gratefully received!

Had loads of Braxton hicks with this one, which I don't remember getting so much with the other 2. Aside from that no other labour symptoms.

With dc 1 had her on her due date (waters went at home the day before), dc2 had a sweep 3 days before due date (had polyhydramnious with him) so he came the day before his due date. I really just hope I don't go over too much as that is when I will start to get really fed up! Saw midwife this morning who said I was 3/5ths engaged but baby is lying back to back so to try and shift him round? Any one got any tips for that as well?

Well that's all my moaning for now although there may well be some more later....

AlwaysDancing1234 · 13/06/2014 19:04

Ooh Gemini that sounds promising. Hope you get to meet your baby soon.
I'm definitely buying a new paddling pool for the garden tomorrow, even if just to put my feet in!

RoseberryTopping · 13/06/2014 19:17

This show might be the start of things ramping up then hopefully! Keep us updated :)

ch1a get DP to fill you that pool, it could be your new birthing pool. I think it'd actually be quite nice to be labouring outside in a nice cool pool.

Hello and welcome double :) nice to see some new faces. Are you feeling quite hopeful that you'll have this baby near the due date then? You've been lucky in the past with not going over, I'm envious!
Try looking on the spinning babies website, they've got loads of good tips on positions to try. From memory I think going on all fours helps spin them round from back to back - do your skirting boards need painting? Grin

Iwillorderthefood · 13/06/2014 19:35

Hi double you have the same age gaps as me. Ikea trip sounds like a good plan.

ElizaB3 · 13/06/2014 20:13

Hello, can I join too; I'm 40+4 and the June thread has gone dead, need to help pass the time (that isn't just football!)
Double I had to move my baby round a bit and spent a lot of time on all fours/over the birthing ball, and it's in a good position now (Although it wasn't fully posterior).
Good luck Gemini you sound imminent! I need some show tickets!

Geminiwitch22 · 13/06/2014 20:35

lol, thanks. pain now at a nice 7, think waters may have gone. ache all over. hopefully be going in soon!
hi to double and eliza these guys have kept me entertained between contractions

RoseberryTopping · 13/06/2014 21:24

Hello Eliza :) I think a few of us joined the June thread but couldn't keep up, strange that it's dead now! Is this your first baby?

Corr gemini, I'm in awe of you MNing and contracting at the same time! How exciting, hope you don't have much longer to go. Have you tried a bath, might help with the aches?

I'm stuck watching boring football :( I don't think it's possible that I could be more bored.

OP posts:
Iwillorderthefood · 13/06/2014 21:28

Hope it all goes well Gemini. Hopefully we will not be far behind.

Hi Eliza know what you mean about football.

ElizaB3 · 13/06/2014 23:29

Yes is my first, don't know what sex it is. Really want to know now.
I feel more than ready now, it's just teasing!
A lot of the June thread decamped to Facebook I think.
Go Gemini! I'm getting some pineapple tomorrow; have tried pretty much everything else :)
