Congrats Beetle! I'm so pleased for you. What a good weight!

Do you have a name?

You have done so well, and I wish your little boy a smooth few weeks while he gets to his term date and size.

Hope you are recovering ok.

vallinnapod · 13/10/2014 19:41

Beetle!!!! Congrats! I am so, so pleased for you! We'll done on keeping him in for so long!! You'll be just fine when you get home, it's amazing how quickly it feels like they have been with you forever.

And Cups! Fabulous news xxx

I am in agony....had my whooping cough and flu jabs today. Flu was fine but I feel like I have been given the worst dead arm ever on the WC one!

nobeer · 25/10/2014 09:00

How's everyone getting on? I'm 32 + 5 now, feeling OK apart from suffering with insomnia and swollen feet. Hopefully I'm finishing work at 34 weeks. Just need to deal with the red tape first.
I'm going to start sorting out hospital bag today, and wash newborn baby clothes. DP getting quite anxious! I've given myself a talking to and I'm not allowed to get stressed Grin

vallinnapod · 25/10/2014 13:13

Hi nobeer just came on the ask the same question Grin

I am 30 weeks +1 and can massively sympathise with the insomnia. Plus still getting morning and evening sickness - now mixed in with heartburn the rest of the time. Still, small price. We are having a weekend away so I am hoping I sleep tonight and enjoy the fact we can make the most of the hour changing!

You are good with your hospital bag! Due to the way my holiday year works I am going on mat leave at 32 weeks so I am planning in doing things like that then. I need to get our pram and car seat to the cleaners and then I am pretty ready. Just very excited. Can't wait for some newborn snuggles. DS is excited too...obviously doesn't apprehend the implications Wink

nobeer · 25/10/2014 15:59

So far no progress on hospital bag Grin but have washed her clothes and some bedding. Sorry the morning sickness is back, maybe it's because there's less room in your stomach. I find I feel really hungry but feel full really quickly. My sugar was a bit high so midwife gave me a diet and told me to eat every 3 hrs.
I'm with your DS on feeling excited!

keepitgoing · 25/10/2014 19:37

Oh beetle, how lovely, congratulations! So pleased for you.
cups, I remember you! Congratulations lovely. The first few days can be a total headf* as you know, one day at a time ...

keep and nomaybe , your names feel like a real blast from the past. Anyone still in touch with shazza?

nobeer and val not long now!

As for me, baby Choco is 10 weeks old today and lovely! He weighed 9lb 14oz when he was born at 39+2 after an induction - but well worth it all Grin

keepitgoing · 26/10/2014 11:40

ooh choco he was a biggie... mine was 7lb! congratulations lovely. yes, I'm still in touch with shaz, her little girl is a few weeks younger than mine (whose birthday is 2 weeks today! Shock ) and doing really well Smile

vallinnapod · 26/10/2014 20:51

Choco I crossed my legs on your post Wink

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 27/10/2014 19:08

Thanks Choco and Keep

Congratulations Choco on your baby boy! Wonderful news xx

Well somehow I survived my first scan. Baby was in the right place and we saw the heartbeat. I feel really relieved but I know it won't last. Only 2 more weeks until my next scan!

chocolocodowninacapulco · 28/10/2014 09:47

Brilliant cups, well done xx

nobeer · 28/10/2014 11:29

Glad to hear that cups. How many weeks are you now? Can't scroll up on my phone.

keepitgoing · 28/10/2014 13:03

amazing cups Grin Grin I'm so pleased for you x

Beetleandbug · 02/11/2014 04:47

I hope everyone is well, and I apologise for being a bad egg buddy... The sleepless nights are taking their toll on my already frazzled brain!

Our little bug has been home two weeks now and appears to be doing well. He surpassed his birthweight at two weeks old and so we have stopped bottle top ups and are breastfeeding exclusively. Hopefully he will continue to chub up! He is now 37+4.... It's so hard to believe this little thing should still be curled up inside me.

He is wonderful and it makes my heart swell to think that he is mine. It's very surreal and I feel like I might be asked to give him back at any moment!

I hope everyone here is well and I look forward to the next new arrival. Xxx

Beetleandbug · 02/11/2014 04:49

congratulations cups! I hope you are doing okay with the mentalling. X

Turquoisetamborine · 03/11/2014 04:05

Congratulations Beetle! What a good weight!
Not long nobeer and val. Such lovely news.
I'm not doing so good. My nuchal scan came back as 1 in 29 risk of Downs. They didn't give me a breakdown of the results. I'll be ringing tomorrow and insisting though. I'm doing a nifty test on Wednesday instead of a CVS.
I don't know if it's the bloods, the NT measurement or both that made my results so bad. I'm 35.
Things I think they will have taken into account are that I have hypoglaecemia, I take metformin for this but they probably have me down as borderline diabetic although I'm not overweight, that I had IVF and still taking progesterone.
They didn't tell me about any soft markers during the scan. In fact they've told me nothing useful and just left me hysterical all weekend.
Sorry to bring the thread down.

Turquoisetamborine · 03/11/2014 04:07

Oh and the other thing I've read is high levels of ivf drugs could skew blood results. I was on the highest possible dose.
What were everyone else's results?

Twinklestar2 · 03/11/2014 05:01

Congratulations beetle on the birth of your baby boy! Wonderful news Grin

And congratulations cupcakes! So happy to see you here.

vallinnapod · 03/11/2014 08:45

Turq so sorry you are having this worry after everything. Glad you are having the NIFTY. Is it the same 2 week turnaround as Harmony, or quicker? If you have a look back through your scan notes will it tell you about the soft markers? For example mine has the NT measurement and whether a nasal bone was present. Very easy for a third party to say but please try not to worry....1 in 29 means there is a 61% chance there is nothing wrong...odds we'd have all loved for PG rates during IVF Smile (sorry, not trying to be flip).

Beetle I am so pleased you are home and your little Bug is thriving. Hopefully I will be joining you pounding the streets of Kingston soon!

Cups hope the early PG mentalling isn't driving you too mad.

I am 31+3 now. Can't really believe it. Having a Wellbeing Scan at the FMC a week tomorrow...just to make sure my placenta is doing what it should and bub is growing as she should. I am a big believer these should be available on the NHS...unfortunately not in my trust. I finish work on Friday...which I am now more than ready for. Over it all Grin I have major nesting going on. Am looking forward to doing things like getting my hospital bag packed (just in case the HB doesn't happen/go to plan) and doing all the newborn washing.

Turquoisetamborine · 03/11/2014 09:02

Val thanks so much for that. I didn't think to look in my maternity notes. The measurement is 1.4mm which is normal i think? I'm on hold now for my blood results.

keepitgoing · 03/11/2014 09:42

oh turq what a worry. my nt was the same. I've read the same about high levels of ivf drugs, I so hope it's that. I hope you get the nifty results really quickly, and obviously that all is ok. BTW I make your odds 97% that all is fine

val enjoy your last week. a HB? how lovely. I'd maybe have liked that considering how mine went (v quick) but dh said no way José Smile

beetle I remember the funny feeling that dd could still have been inside when she was really 5 weeks old Smile enjoy all those snuggles despite the exhaustion. mind's never still enough for a cuddle now except our speed BFs! x

vallinnapod · 03/11/2014 10:23

DS was very quick - 6 hours from waters breaking to arriving (4 hours from contractions starting!!) It was also a very easy, drug free, straight forward water birth in a MLU so really, REALLY hoping for the same again Grin

Turq - that is a very normal measurement. Mine was 2.8mm with this PG (that freaked me out...)

Turquoisetamborine · 03/11/2014 10:25

Beetle I hope you enjoy your few weeks of maternity before you get your lovely snuggly baby.

Keepitgoing thanks for that. 97% doesn't seem so bad. They seemed so surprised I didn't just jump at the chance of a CVS. IVF pregnancies are so precious and hard won, I wouldn't risk it unless it was absolutely necessary.

I've got my blood results now. Papp-a was the worrying one 0.22 mom. This can definitely be lower in IVF pregnancies I've read.
Pre beta was normal, didn't give me the reading.
HCG 2.05 mom which can again be expected to be higher in IVF pregnancies or if you're having a girl.

The papp-a is the main one to be concerned about as it can be indicative of pre eclampsia and lower birth weight so I'll have to keep an eye on that.

At least my NT is totally normal and I will soon have my Nifty. Thanks for the support.

nobeer · 03/11/2014 12:04

Hi turq sorry I don't think I can help much. We had the embryos tested so I didn't pay too much attention to nuchal measurements etc. How are you doing apart from mentalling?

I'm 34 weeks today! And finally on leave Grin. I'm going to make a list of everything I want to get done. Like the washing, the bag, batch cooking and freezing. But for the moment I've got my feet up and watching crap daytime tv!

nobeer · 03/11/2014 12:06

Beetle I'm delighted to read how well Bug is doing! Well done Mummy. How's the puppy taken to the new addition to the family?
