Feather go to your docs about your hayfever, they wil know best what you can/can't have. You shouldn't have to suffer. Is it bad already?
I had a couple of extra private scans at the beginning, then a few extra nhs/consultant scana due to previous cervical procedure so I think 6 extra all together! Oh and then we had a 4d scan at 32/33 weeks too.

I have a photo album full of them Grin

I made carrot cake, its yummy ( if I say so myself)

FeatherFeather11 · 14/06/2014 18:37

qaz I LOVE that cardi! I'd wear it myself!

foody thanks for the advice - will book in with the gp this week. Hayfever is so awful at the min. Carrot cake! Yum!

Don't think oh is into the idea of extra sans, but I plan on wearing him down. Wink

Foodylicious · 14/06/2014 18:54

Oh you will feather, I went for a scan or 2 on my own though when I booked them last minute when anxiety got the better of me!

greatbigbushybeard · 14/06/2014 18:59

qaz I agree that cardigan is lovely, love the buttons-so cute!! I am not, nor never have been a knitter so is that difficult? Is that what you call a matinee jacket? My MIL was saying that she was going to make one for her daughter's baby but she only wants to put him in new things, ungrateful bitch, I'd love anything like that.

Back from afternoon tea, lovely afternoon, yummy food and so much cake!! My mum was really chuffed with the scrapbook I'd made, it was like hairstyles through the ages. Ate lots so stomach is chuntering away, trying to process the food but went to loo and when wiped had pinky red blood on tissue, only a stain but it sends me into a downward, negative spiral. I've had brown spots on panty liner past few days and can cope with that but not this. Anyone want to hold my hand??

qazxc · 14/06/2014 19:36

I'm a novice knitter. This is the first non scarf/blanket thing I have made.

Try not to freak out about the pink stain, spotting is very common in early pregnancy.

Tallyra · 14/06/2014 20:42

Feather, I just saw your post about antihistamines. One of the anti sickness meds is called cyclizine. It's routinely given as a first line med and perfectly safe, but if you want to buy it over the counter don't let on that you're pregnant because pharmacists won't let you have it.

Hand holding bushy, one day at a time!

feather I have only had 6,12 and 20week scans. Thought about having extra but never bothered in the end.

Happy Sunday peeps! Just think, next fathers Day we'll have to do extra work Smile

BlindKitty · 15/06/2014 12:11

feather the nicest scan I had was a private scan to determine sex at 18 weeks. Was best £39 I've ever spent (nice surroundings, soft music, wide screen to see baby, 3 photos). In total I had about 7 scans

greatbigbushybeard · 15/06/2014 12:52

Omg bunny didn't think of it that way!! But remember we get in there first with Mother's Day!! I don't think we'll do extra scans, can see why people do as it just seems to be a whole lot of waiting!!

When did berries tell others and did you tell certain people e.g. Family earlier and colleagues later or all around the same time?

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/06/2014 17:16

Feather I had 3 private scans on top of the 12 and 20 week NHS ones. I had 6 weeks, 10 weeks ish as part of harmony test and 28 weeks. All were money well spent IMO!
Bushy I told friends / family at about 8 weeks. I was very sick and it wasn't possible to hide it

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/06/2014 17:43

Oh and happy due date foody

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/06/2014 17:44

15th June 2013 was the day Edie was counted from (eg the start of my last AF). What a difference a year makes

Foodylicious · 15/06/2014 18:32

Grin merk

Bunnygirlie · 15/06/2014 19:16

Bushy we told the mums, my dad and my sister on Mothering Sunday. I was about 13/14 weeks and did not want to tell anybody till 'safe' 12 week scan, then when I realised Mothering Sunday was a week or so after the scan it just had to be done Grin
Over the next week I told by besties and other close friends/family, I told work when I was 15 weeks and then FB i.e. everyone else lol

greatbigbushybeard · 15/06/2014 19:52

Sounds like a good way of doing things bunny it was my mum's birthday and I was so tempted to put my scan pic into her photo album!! I didn't as way too early!!

Silly question here, mozzarella- is it safe to eat uncooked? I've bought one that had made with pasteurised milk on the ingredients list. The big standard tesco one which I normally buy says nothing about pasteurised although I'm sure it is. Want to make a mozzarella avocado and tomato salad for tea tonight.. If I can drag self off sofa, feel pooped!

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/06/2014 20:03

I think if its pasteurised then yes. But I notoriously are whatever I fancied so maybe best asking somebody more sensible!

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/06/2014 20:05

Bushy I saw your comment about hating being sick...I'm the same, to the point i am practically scared. However it was v different when morning sickness kicked in as the nausea was so bad I was begging to be sick

jessplussomeonenew · 15/06/2014 20:14

I think mozzarella is absolutely fine. I've been eating it at a ridiculous rate so it had better be OK! To make mozzarella you heat the milk to above pasteurisation temperature and it's generally eaten quickly after that. Generally it's only blue or mould ripened cheeses (brie, camenbert etc) that you need to avoid, most cheeses are fine.

FeatherFeather11 · 15/06/2014 22:15

Thanks for all the scan advice ladies. Wow, kitty, £39! I thought they'd be like £250!! I may have to book myself in. Oh is really against it for some reason so may go it alone. merk err...what's a harmony test?

Well, I know you guys are going to think it's very foolish of me and oh, but we told our mums today. We're both really close to them and they were so supportive when the ectopic happened, we just wanted them to know. Going yo wait a few more weeks and maybe let my best friend know. But feel better that we have shared with our mums. They're both v discreet so there is no fear of them saying anything.

FeatherFeather11 · 15/06/2014 22:16

Ps: happy due day foody! Bet you are so excited!

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/06/2014 22:23

Feather I don't think its foolish at all.

Harmony test is a (private only) blood test to test for Down's syndrome (plus a couple of other things) using traces of the baby DNA found in maternal blood. (It can also tell gender). Its optional and only available privately, but more accurate (in simple terms) than the combined screening offered for Downs by the NHS. At your booking appointment you will get a leaflet on the NHS screening available for you to have (or choose not to have). You may also choose to have additional/alternative tests such as harmony if you wanted to, at your own cost

FeatherFeather11 · 15/06/2014 22:37

Oh, thanks merk. Will look into it now.

Foodylicious · 16/06/2014 02:50

Really dont want to get my hopes up but not sure if this is the start of something?

had what feels like trapped wind this eve, not not really very ahem 'productive'.
Been getting pains lower abdo and back for about 15 -20 seconds every 10 minutes since 01.00.

really not sure what to think...
bump is very firm

have oh in other room because I really did think it was trapped wind. Will leave him be and try and rest for now I guess

Foodylicious · 16/06/2014 03:41

Still going on, just started using a timing app and seems my counting to 15-20 is actually anout 30-35 seconds. Last few about 5-8 mins apart.
Going to kerp logging on here as a record, the last 2 1/2hrs have gone reslly quickly!

Foodylicious · 16/06/2014 06:10

About 7 - 8mins apert but getting stronger and longer about 1 minure each now.
